  • At 1:54 it sounds like Richard and Duane accidentally started singing "Shepherds and wise men say" as well.

  • Who is the guy in the black suit, is that Bill Golden pre beard and hair?

  • @celticdollface No it is band's guitarist, Steve Sanders who replaced Golden for a few years in the 90's after he was released by the group. He had personal problems and eventually left the group and killed himself in 1998.

  • Decent recovery!

  • What's with the Bonsall Mullet.

  • they screwed up cause William Lee Golden wasnt there

  • @bobbyeph YES

  • good recovery boys!! =)

  • I would rather watch a song with a blooper like this, than watch a lip synced song. This feels more natural and live.

  • Joe never missed a beat... lol

I can't say that I blame them much. It's a song that they only sing around Christmas, after all.

  • THIS IS THE BLOOPER...

Duane Allen, the lead singer began to sing a part of the song that actually did not belong there. (He placed the bridge in the middle of the chorus) Joe Bonsall, the tenor in the gold suit caught it, and attempted to bring Duane and the song back to speed. Duane wasn't quite getting it, and Richard Sterban, the bass singer in the pin stripe suit was unsure who to follow, and finally erupted in laughter.

This is one of my favorite Oaks clips. They have a great time!

  • I don't get it? What is the error? I watched the whole thing

  • I don't get it? What is the error? I watched the whole thing.

  • the bass singer (the guy in the pinstripe suit) kept on coming in at the wrong spots.

  • Richard Sterban

  • thank you.

  • you're welcome :)

  • is it live or is it Memorex? i think we have our answer! LOL!

  • Dig Joe's mullet.

    Miss mountain man.

Fashion plate Richard lookin' and soundin' cool.

  • Ok?? I'm not even religious and I LOVE this song. Forget the lyrics even. It is musically wonderful with the chords, melody, and harmonies. Learn to appreciate the scientific side of music and how hard it is to make it sound perfect.

  • what the heck man??????

    they are country legends!!!

and this was their mess up. they do better in concert

    and what IUFAN417 said:

the music is great. the lyrics are ok. and the technical things that are in this song are VERY difficult if you'd pay attention to that instead of criticizing it because you're not a christian.

  • Don't look right without Mr. Golden and his long whiskers.

  • Honestly they didn't sound the same either w/ Steve. They still sounded great, but it wasn't the same.

  • i dunno what is with people thumbing down on people's comments(sorry for the spam).

yeah... the oaks were going through a tough time with Steve's paranoia, Duane got bells paulsey from that stressful situation and this was about the time when joe's dad was going through the toughest of his surgeries from his ww2 injuries.

so yeah there wasn't much heart in the music because of that

  • LOL I used to call Jesus Was Born Today 'jeje born day' when I was little :-) I must listen to it every year. I start playing Christmas music December 1st and keep going until the 25th.

  • same here :D

    i love the oaks!

they're my 2nd favorite country gospel quartet other than the cathedrals with george younce as bass.

  • Just goes to show that even the best are only human. Joe accidently sang the wrong words in one of their new songs when I saw them last week in Branson. It was wasn't all that obvious but what made it funny was Joe's reaction b/c he knew he messed up.

  • This song is crazily repetitive!

  • I am kinda sad to see they screwed up my favorite part of the song when they individually sing "birthday"

  • They are still my favorite.

  • Fun to see this again, Kyle. My original is packed away right no. It'is pretty much as I remembered and described on the board. It is such a repetitive song which makes getting it back on hard to do, but Joe was on top of it

  • THANKS WARRIOR, KEEP EM COMING!!!

  • Great, Kyle!! Keep 'em coming!
