  • this is not Kimora and you should not do this inless you are a blackbelt

  • I studied karos material for years and unless you actually go to a Judo club his material isn't as effective because his videos and books don't cover the more fine details of kuzushi(off balancing)and he barely goes over judo footwork you need for judo cause without that you use way too much muscle which is what I see when wrestlers try to use judo in mma. Karo made these for guys and girls with Judo experience.

  • @jaffar1808 how do you off balance them ?

  • Karo is badass at judo

  • this guy parisyan should be either armanian or iranian origin.his family sounds as well as his look.

  • hèh_AñýöNé_wàÑNÄ_chÅt_with_mÈ_î_fëel_sÓ_lÕnÈly_tódäý!

  • why does he have to be shirtless :S

  • @LeoLovesNature because to demonstrate that this moves are even possible without clothes or a gi.

  • @LeoLovesNature - because Karo is a sexy MoFo.

  • hey guys friendly talk can someone tell me. do you think that a martial artist a TRUE martial artist will never LOOK for a Fight???

  • Hey, I have a question about this video! At 2:35, when Karo is in a Rear Naked choke, i can see that his partner has his feet crossed.

I sparred with my MMA coach and he told me never to do this and demonstrated why I should't. I got him into a Rear naked choke then he place his legs in a figure four over my foot then, and got me into a foot lock with his leg, I was in agony!

I was wandering is that advice for a beginner or a general No no on the ground?

    Thanks!

I was wandering if this advice

  • @DavidRobertsUk It is a no no on the ground.

  • @DavidRobertsUk that ankle lock is realistic, but if he focuses to much on it his neck is wide open to put him to sleep, also if you have strong ankles and calves you can nullify this ankle lock

  • @DavidRobertsUk : You are only watching ONE part of the whole video .. He has counters and recounters .. lol .. He has multiple techniques to deal with different situations .. Watch the WHOLE video .. not just a 6 minute clip on youtube .. then you would see how this technique can be used in different ways and he will show you how to go from one technique to another technique ... Watch the full video before leaving DUMB ASS comments .. lol ..

  • @bostonian314 I wasn't asking about positions, I was asking about the foot placement. Read my comment before you post a DUMB ASS TROLL

  • these are all very simple throws, not black belt level, good for starters

  • @jmattbizzle They are modified for Judoka in MMA. not beginners. Karo uses these techniques himself in all of his fights

  • nice to see judo used in mma instead BJJ bandwagoners.

  • 1:54 he points to his sparring partners nuts and starts talking all stuttery. lmao!!

  • Karo does the exact same in a MMA match without the gi.. that's talent man fucking hard too

  • Thx for sharing Karo

  • nice throw!!

  • I like Karo and respect him as a mma fighter and judo player but I see three things wrong with this.

    1. It's Nage not Nagi, basic but a judoka should know the difference.

    2. Why pull your arm out when you could just curl it across the chest with less effort and movement.

    3. Never, ever, ev everrrr drop to both knees. It works in Judo competition because you have the gi to hold. When you are bare and slick with sweat you are going to need one foot on the ground to engage your hips into the throw.

  • @Bokkenworks I'm sure Karo himself didn't post this video so you could forgive him on the spelling. In terms of your other points, Karo participated in Olympic trials before '04 and is an MMA fighter. Unless you've actually participated in the Olympics and are also an MMA fighter, don't question his techniques.

  • @Bokkenworks you sir get the gold medal for the truth award,

when you sweat and your slippy its very risky.

    Good spot.

  • i was just about to say the thing about the gi, with a gi u have much more control, i dont think turning ur back on ur opponent in mma is ever a good idea, throws or no throws!

  • @legauchefrappe Unless you are Karo.

  • too slow an bowrin explanaition

  • what if he gets you in a kimora ?

  • there's no wrong tech about this vid. karo is awesome in showing his judo background in mma and he pulls it off really well when his opponents get at the slightest off guard. overall judo does have its place in mma. the only bad thing i can point out in this vid is karo's uke at 2:33, youre not meant to cross your feet

  • ahahahahaha criticizing karo parysians judo thats funny......

  • quote:youre not meant to cross your feet

Finaly someone who knows what he's talking about on youtube! gratz

  • LOL.

    You throw people often?

  • yes I do. (never used this one in a MMA fight tho...will probably try it when I go back home )

btw my comment was to the guy who said my quote but karo parisyan does know what he is talking about

  • Yeah. Karo's the man.

  • he did this against Josh Burkman. how is it wrong tech?

  • he knows some moves but his technic is but.

  • u have 2 remember that he says that some of these moves are midified 2 better suit mma... but yeah, im sure u know more than him. I mean... he only won the world championship 4 times..

  • some moves? he's been competing in judo competitions against adults since he was a young teenager. sorry to tell you fan boy but you don't know nearly as much as him.

  • He did Harai Goshi against Josh Burkman

He did this against Dave Strasser

  • yeah, I guess my point was that he did it in an actual fight. His no-gi Judo is amazing to watch.

  • Lol yeah, good call.

  • ya karo parisyan does judo throws almost in every fight

  • I swear, every video i watch of a black belt sharing their techniques, there is some self proclaimed expert saying that the practitioner is wrong, but never back it up.

  • Karo is definetly one of my favorite fighters in the ufc, he may not be super famous like GSP but he's really fun to watch nonetheless, out of all the mma fighters with a judo background karo is the only one that i've seen that has been able to actually use judo effectively , he's hands down the best judo based mma fighter around, i've seen him throw around tough opponents like thiago alves with judo moves that seem like they should only work on novices, and thats what i like about him

  • Fedor?

  • karo adapted his judo to ufc really well

i wanna see him fight bj and kenflo

  • a very easey, effevtive and fast throw. no offense to karo but he made so complicated, maybe beacuse its mma i dont know. much love to him for showing the world that judo is one of the ultimate martial arts. no hate much love... out

  • mann if some of you have no fucken clue about judo don't bother infecting karo's page!! Judo is the SHIT and karo is the SHIT! fuck the douchbags who talk SHIT!!!!

  • BJ Penn is the biggest douchebag in MMA right now. Not Karo.

  • you are

    you piece of shit

  • that guy looks homo at 3:10

  • i wrestled in high school and the amount of people i tossed with this move is countless

    great throw

  • by any chance would you have any videos of it?

  • Judo is badass, I'm lucky to have a judoka blackbelt who is also the assistant instructor at my jujitsu academy. He was showing this same move to us earlier "with a GI"

  • haha, 3:10 the other guys face!

  • In judo do they teach you to throw people on the heads.

  • where they land is about how hard the attack you. if they're driving fast their momentum will help hurl them but if they're still you can kinda control where you want them to land. in a fight its fast paced and they're gonna wanna Blitzkrieg you so they'll come fast and you will throw them and yes they will possibly land on their head if they dont know how to correctly break a fall (which you learn in Judo)

  • yeah in wrestling its called a suplex

  • this is so different to what i learn.

i do wrestling and when u do the throw-

your shoulder has to be above theirs...

  • Start judo. You'll love it.

  • nah sorie. im a wrestler and alwaise would be

    not my style (L)

  • An example of a dumbass.

  • It doesnt hurt to learn new takedowns and submissions man... give it a try.

  • lol . if u start wrestling ille start judo <3

  • Hahahaha... I used to wrestle in High School... Your move!

  • lol fark.

im gonna start mma soon next year

so ille prob do it their anyway lol

  • bla bla bla mesmo.........

mostra a porra do golpe logo porra

  • it looked like the shirtlees dude was hugging him

  • bla,bla,bla,blaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • Yeah, he's got great throws. To be honest though, Dong Hyun Kim should have won against Karo.

  • i actually got karo winning that fight...dhk won the 1st round then he gassed after all those submission attempts

  • Yeah but Liu Kang beats everyone.

  • great throw :) really really easy to flip someone with morote seoi nage

  • many judo throws can be executed with the initial position ....even without breaking the hold...watch how the olympian judokas play :)

  • the hold break can be realy usefull to break out of there hold you could also get them in a nice arm look useing this

  • he is a world class judoka and he even proved it agains't don kim... Judo is karo's world and his book is magnificent!!

  • karo's awesome!

especially in his fight against dong kim in ufc 94..great throws

...my only worry about this move is that if you do it over and over, you may damage your knees

  • he will make an awsome judo trainer

  • Sorry guys, he isnt close to world class, in judo , he is good for mma but if you do your homework you will find out he isnt or never was world class in judo.... you want world class check out jimmy pedro or travis stevens

  • I Have seen this Move performed perfectly in a NHB event. The set up was different but the throw worked great. we practice the Seoi-Nagi set up in My MMA class. it takes a lot of work to get it right and without precision and speed your chance of getting your Back taken is quite high. but when it works it works well.

  • topchairman dont bring your mom into this....karo will fuck your lights out..lol

  • I see there's a lot of internet experts. I wonder if anyone has achieved a quarter of what this guy has achieved?

  • lol they say they can do better and what not. but for some reason, no one has ever heard of them lol

  • I have never fought mma but I have been in alot of Judo competitions. Personally almost every time someone tries to do this I take their back. Granted I have alot more experience defending this that someone who does not train alot of Judo might. Just a personal thought. Karo does a great job of breaking it down though. Cheers.

  • I NEED SOMEONE TO TALK TO

    looking for friends 7h

  • lets see your ass to this shit TOPCHAIRMAN. Karo is the real deal.

  • i dunno about this move in Mma... Has anyone seen this throw successfully done in an Mma fight?? Cuz it seems like unless the guy your fighting is weak as hell its not going to work...

  • karo did it in ufc 44

  • If you pull this off in a fight, it's a great way to go into armbar. Will mess your opponent's day up.

  • he broke it down perfectly

  • lol "Twist my arm and take it out"

  • worst instructor of all time

  • Hes an mma veteran, and you call him a shit instructor? id be glad to learn from this bloke! if he wernt decent he wudnt be allowed to coach.

  • I don't know why he's on his knees, I've never seen ippon done that way. I guess this is for people who don't actually know how to tawasabaki into a forward throw and where correct hip placement is. You lose a lot of power being on your knees. You can't spring your hips up into theirs or twist all the way around.

  • its not ippon its drop seoi nage, ippon is from standing. And I've felt this throw its just as powerful as the standing version.

  • if hes really strong muscle your way out hahaha :)

  • Karo will be throwing all you bitches in the air haha

  • Karo the Kan.

  • shut the fuck up

  • great video

  • damn i was so looking forward to his fight with yoshida.

  • Me too :(

  • karo was really cocky at that time, after thiago alves fight, he talks different and looks different, he has prolly reset his mind or something

  • I have noticed that too! He puts on a great show!

  • Nice instructional video, Karo is a great fighter.

  • Wow, what nice guy.

Want to be f..ked by him, hihihihiiii

And what abulg, I bet he has a XXL-cock.

Would like to ................i´m soo horny

  • karo is a world class judoka moron go burry yourself somewhere lol...I actually feel 10 times sorry for you illiterate hillbillies out there that are all waste of life...

  • bullshit

  • You're an IDIOT plan and simple =)

  • It is called Seoi Nage, not Seoi Nagi...

  • i like this technique, we use it in aikido too

  • your comment does confirm me that idiots are everywhere

  • armenbob, u've been doing judo for 9 years, he has doing it from when he was 9 years, i've been doing it for 9 years and karo has adapted this technique really godd to MMA, and yes, you are supposed to drop on your knees, and it is only dangerous if you can't do it right!!

  • wouldnt it just be easier to throw an obi otosh?

  • An obi otoshi isn't possible nogi, you need to grab the belt. A drop ogoshi might be possible though

  • sorry, i didnt mean a traditional obi, ive always done it without grabbing the belt bc ive had a hard time trying to paw around for the obi during competition and then execute it correctly. which i guess would make it an uki goshi, hah. ive always wanted to see more judo in BJJ and MMA fights, but i guess since every asshole who thinks they can throw a punch thinks theyre a mixed martial artist, thatll never happen.

  • ...there IS a lot of judo fighters in mma...

  • Lol his not doing it wrong dude karo's a legend in Judo that's how you're suppose to do it which is safer.... lol you're still learning but you're Japanese sensei doesn't know what the fuck his talking about cause that ain't safe falling in your shins lol!!

  • So Armenob, you think is safer falling in your shins???

  • hes doing it wrong you supposed to drop on your shins not knees thats dangerous i train with these really expereinced japanese sensei's at valley judo ive never done this move the 4 years ive been doing judo but in 1 day i did it so good they didnt even belive it

  • i love you karo an inspiration to all judokas!

  • CarDoses bla bla bla you really know your stuff.....NOTTT

lol Dumbass this is his shit his been doing it for the past 16 years and his explanation is tremendous and amateurs like you run their stupid mouths lol!! I rest my case!!

"i dont thing thats the tradicional start" LOL...Umm....Why don't you put your video up lol..

  • lol

  • wing chun sucks is retard ghey

  • you realize the legendary Bruce lee was an expert trained by a legendary generation of wing chun masters and i strongly believe lee has greater "COMBAT" skill than any fighter in the ufc divisions.

i watch ufc and im not disrespecting but know your facts.Tsk Tsk people now days only see mma as a form of fighting.

  • Amazing martial arts training video and I enjoyed the quality. I want to show you this style of training to you. - Wing Chun Practise Tool - just do a search for the martialarm in youtube or google.

  • You're telling him that?? lol Great book karo awesome throws great explanation!!!

  • IN5YOUR5FACE5,

Well... just grab me tight so that i can release my arm... And let me strach my ass before doing the Seoi-Nagi

Wasn't this supposed to be about Seoi-Nagi?

humm... i dont thing thats the tradicional start...

And no, im not telling him that, i am telling you.

PS: sorry for my bad english

  • thats not how you should start a ipon seoi nage

  • "thats not how you should start a ipon seoi nage"

Uh.... I think there's more than one way to start a seoi nage...

  • Yes there is... clap clap...

But the title of the video is "drop seoi nage" and the video shows more than a seoi nage which has nothing to due with the tecnique it self.(important? i dont think so)

    sorry for my bad english...

  • thanks! i understand.

  • just do an o goshi!

  • LOLZZZZ 3:11 - 3:13 the topless guy had his eyes closed and leaned on Paro's shoulder as if they were a couple

    extremely funny

  • Lol To bad some of you douchbags are VERY far from knowing or applying some of his techniques!!

hahaha where is Diego Sanchez now??? 2 losses with boring ass fights and still thinks his the shit hahaha!! Karo's on top and always backs his shit up and made it fight of the year Btw, get your facts straight that dental work was his veneer not his real tooth moron lol

  • i think karo explained that very well. I appreciate his teaching this move. For those of you bad-mouthing him

" Don't you idiots know what he could do to you?"

    LOL

But, as far as I know, a rabbit punch is a kidney shot or one to the back of the head/neck and not what he did.

Anyways, it was a good explanation and I hope to see he and his arrogance take some more beatings in the future-like when Diego gave him free dental work!

  • 1998golf. SORRY but you are so fking wrong.

ONE:Jiu Jitsu and BJJ are way diffrent so learn about traditional jiu jitsu before saying it's useless in the streets. Son Kei do jiu jitsu wich I practice and am assisstant instructor, show it's students to STAY UP during fights as much as possible since you're likely to have more than one opponent.

Second: just look at any MMA fight on tv and you will see that a good grappling and ground fight is primordial to win a fight unless you can one hit KO.

  • thats why you close the distance then you apply the lock. Learn about what you are talking about before you spout off like you know whats going on.

  • are u fkin kidding first thing a guy will do if hes bigger than you is fkin grab you the streets is fists bullshiat lol ps 1996VW golf here mint cars

  • Wow! This guy is a master judoka. upper echelon competitor in the UFC and listen to all you bad ass keyboard warriors.

  • alright, ok, alright, ok, alright, ok, ok, ok haha

  • judo and bbj r useful cos u can throw or dislocate ur opponents wid good bjj and judo moves, but yes fists matter

  • 2 thing one really dumb to get out of the lock first reason if he pulls his arm around you arm as you go to lock it you are in a arm bar or say you pull the arm out your off balance he sweeps the left ankle and holds on to the left arm BAM arm bar ..... ok second reason its 2 risky leaving your neck open cause the first thing i do if some one gives me there back is go for the choke dumb but it does set up for an arm bar but way to risky

  • Amen!

  • Karo is great his technique is fantastic, he just needs to stop saying OK, I think I counted 785799342 times.

  • lol that "bla bla bla" is called explanation!! Great instructor!!

  • holyfuck stfu and show the throw

  • nice guy, but too much bla bla bla

  • Detailed instructed, and just look how easy it is to apply an arm bar after that throw, excellent combination.

  • Great video!

This is a technique I have struggled with.

  • why he does it on his knees?

i found it easier to make this on my feet, because i can move more my hip and make the takedown with more power, but thats on judo.

Maybe for mma is better to do it on your knees, probably this way is faster

  • if u do it on your feet its a different throw called hip on seoi nagi

  • because he is showing DROP seoi nage, not regualar ippon seoi nage

  • this guy is armenian

  • does this move work if your opponent is twice your size??

  • it's all about momentum.yes

  • yeap it does

  • just make sure that when you are throwing, you rotate your body to the left. You DO NOT want to drive your opponents head into the mat. YOu could incapacitate or kill your opponent. Please be careful and practice this befor you use it in competition.

  • yes. in judo class, i saw a 140 lb guy throw a 300lb guy with seoi nage. it wasnt during sparring though, which would be a lot more difficult..it was during a belt promotion and the promoted guy got thrown by everyone. but it was done...its all about getting the perfect execution of the technique..

  • yes if you have the strength and techique.
