ive been playing sax(only instrument i know) for 4 years and u sound waaay better than me.. would a mouthpiece and reed difference be a better sound changer than a new sax cuz i got like no money(in high school).. just looking for suggestions thanks
Go for the least cost option. The sax I am using on this video is a cheapo one. I'm using a Meyer mouthpiece and Vandoren Jazz reeds No.2. Bring your horn to the shop and try out a few mouthpieces before you part with any cash.
I'm sure you sound good. Keep up the nice playing. I do have the advantage of having played the trumpet for a number of years. While the embouchure and fingerings are different, the improvising I have learnt does help.
ok that makes me a bit confident! but i think the sound of the sax is the most important thing. but in the past 11 months i had to learn the basics ;) greetings from austria! ... and sorry for my bad english!
What mouthpiece and size of reed do you use. What branded reed do you play with. Look at the mouthpiece as the most important and the saxophone itself as being an amplifier. Thanks.
I've been playing for 9 years now, and you sound pretty good for a beginner...what's your set up?
