  • i can't imagine all the spit on the microphone, he sounds like he has a lisp here

except he's still amazing and i love his voice :)

  • i know he is so big artist and all that stuff but with my music taste which i adore i dont like his voice mostly

  • SRV style guitar strap!!!

  • 2 people are blind.

  • shjumday ill fly, shjumday ill shjoar,

shjumday ill be shjo damn mutshj more!

  • My god JJ on the drums is still using Ayotte, this vid must be really old D:

  • sounds like he has a chip clip on his tongue

  • Haha SRV strap...ugly finish...great performance...wtf

  • Schoolboy rock guitarist image. Those days are gone.

  • He has the same belt of Srv on the guitar...eheh

  • i love him.

  • this guy has written so many wonderfuls songs that he makes it hard to choose a favorite,,,, this 1 is 1 of my favorites!!!!! fantastic upbeat rock song!!!! the bass line is also great, nice feel top it!!!!!

  • It sounds like he's trying to sing with his tongue on the roof of his mouth :S

  • hes just not using his soft pallete.

  • soft pallete?

  • oh... never mind, wikipedia has come to the rescue. It is possible for the soft palate to retract and elevate during speech to separate the oral cavity (mouth) from the nasal cavity in order to produce the oral speech sounds. If this separation is incomplete, air escapes through the nose, causing speech to be perceived as nasal.

  • ahhaha yeap =] always sing using your soft palate being a bit raised (raising it helps resonance if you're singing through the mask of course otherwise wrong technique will only cause stress and a bad tone)

but mayer's become quite a singer today. especially if you check out a sinatra cover he did with chris botti.

  • 3:16 - 3:20......

    Out of this world!!! 5/5

  • I'm speaking of the mix of those chords.

    Toally awesome...

  • whats with the lisp?

  • why the hell does he sound like this?

  • cause its old

  • He was still kind of discovering his voice around this time. This video is old.

  • @tjolmsy and the sky is blue..

  • what effect is he using on his solo?

  • Harmonizer w/tremolo i think

  • anyone else notice the lisp during the singing?

  • Yeah I think it kinda sounds like he's got too much saliva in his mouth or something

  • its just the quality of the video

  • it's probably just a natural result from singing falsetto as long and hard as he does

  • whens the rest gonna be uploaded? :(

  • gotta love those facial expressions =D

  • you can hear him footswitch the adrenalinn into the rest of the sound system for the preset 150 arpeggio effect that is used in the song as well as set the in ear drum beat for jj johnson right at the beginning if you listen closely

  • John was part of my inspiration to start playing music. I take inspiration from him, along with the deftones, dave matthiews, metallica, and even coldplay. I like variety.

  • A peice of this song plays a major part in a rhapsody sort of thing I'm putting together.

  • Try Dream Theater.

    Great tunes.

And John is one of the best.

  • dude isnt that a strap that SRV used to use all the time?

  • yeah

  • JM is a huge SRV fan. i mean he literally started his music career from him. he' s being called SRV Jr.

  • yeah i know :D i just love the strap. and the song!!though i did not know that he was being called SRV junior though...

  • If you look at the video where JM shows his guitars, it is called something with 200 guitars, you see his replica of a guitar SRV used to play with. He was also called Slowhand Jr. by The Rolling Stones!

  • It's funny how much he's changed in just a couple years... this John Mayer looks like present-day John Mayer's dorky little brother.

  • This song is so good. It was sort of my Life Soundtrack for a good deal of time, used to play it over and over again on my portable MP3, ALL DAY LONG.

Thanks for uploading it, straubemusic. You took me back to those wonderfully sad, scary days of not knowing. Thank you, thank you...

  • i think he has gum in his mouth.

  • i honestly think he put the pick in his mouth..
