What's wrong with hymns that have lasted 5 generations in America? Do we need that drum set in the center of the stage providing a strong backbeat to draw in the young? Hear the hymns first, they provide more than repetitive pop sounds. I'm a song writer for 30+ years, I could never surpass amything in the hymnal, can she? Awesome, or destined to be dated to this generation?
God created polio, science cured it. God created small pox, science cured it. God created leprosy, science cured it. God created 2.million different illnesses, science has found cures for many. God created infertility, science invented IN-VITRO and an estimated 15 million new lives. God`s life averaged 45 years, science extended it to 75. 100.000 innocent children died in Haiti suffocating beneath the rubble. This ALLMIGHTY god, didn`t lift a finger to help.Praise be to god !!

We are about to experience a modern day renaissance in music from the church. This is going to be an era when the church influences the world, instead of the world influencing the church. A strong part of this is going to be the initial foundation of hymns (believe it or not). We are going to experience another movement of modern "hymns".
so you are saying humanity is degrading and we will fall into a new dark age, when humanity suffers for another 1000 or so years, killing each other for religion, and not developing for religion

Please don't use the Catholic Church of previous centuries as your reference of a lot of Christianity today! It's much different in many aspects, especially the fascist part!
@mas502arc well you know that the apple does not fall far from the tree, even if the apple is still the tree just slightly older, does not make a difference at all in my opinion, all religions think they are 'god's children' and superior to other religions, that is just the nature of the beast, the whole point of religion is to have one ideology, and that is intellectual fascism when you think about it
@Trooperxp I get what you mean and where you are coming from. And I don't have all the counter arguments to yours, but all I want you to know is that currently, many true Christians are striving for showing our God's unconditional love, forgiveness, and acceptance to all.
I might get flamed for this, but maybe just maybe the Catholic Church of the Renaissance lost their way. It is very very easy for power to corrupt.
@mas502arc in today's day and age money IS power, and the Church gets lot of money from many people, but you are right in that it all comes down to belief, and that rationality and constructiveness can do nothing against fanatics and others who were indoctrinated from a very young age to mind this ideology of religion, but you are also right in that the church needs less power and less money
