  • That's really what "the kingdom of God is within you" means. It's figurative, not literal. "God", the universe, energy, etc, is within all us. This is what is meant by Panentheism. We are all part of the All.

  • Oh my!!! When will I watch a video on YouTube without reading the "Religion Vs. Science" debate over and over and over again? People, please!!!!

  • I love the smirk at the end. Like, "yeah, awesome, I know. that's what I do."

  • Carl Sagan said something akin to this that still always gives me the chills: "We are a way for the universe to know itself."

...such a simple, but profound idea.

  • What did the stars do to ever hurt this man? Why does he feel big when considering how they had to spill their guts for us?

Hey, isn't that what Jesus did for us? You know, when he was up on that cross dying and the Roman pierced his side with a spear, spilling blood and water out of his guts?

Stop hating the Son of Man, the Son of God. Is the sun a star?

  • @field16 oh please.... without the death of stars there would be no complex atoms, only hydrogen... life as we know it is not possible with hydrogen alone.... see one is a fact, the other is a story, a comforting story, but a story non the less.... and yes, the sun, our sun is a star.

  • @frackcha You were not there to witness the death of a star, and yet you are bold to make such an unscientific claim, something you did not observe or test. It's simply a belief.

God claimed credit for making this world. He is undisputed in his claim, as dead stars cannot speak against him. God created the world and the life in it. Please do not call him a liar.

Jesus told the truth. It's Tyson's word against Jesus. I put my faith in the humble genius that died for us.

  • @field16 "You were not there to witness the death of a star, and yet you are bold to make such an unscientific claim, something you did not observe or test. It's simply a belief." [sic]

LOL... you have heard of telescopes right? They have been around for a number of DECADES :D The people who make them now are getting really good at it :D One other thing, next time you look at the sky, look for the big dipper (the big pan:) a star went supernova in that region of space a couple of months ago...

  • @frackcha "LOL... you have heard of telescopes right?"

You are not a scientist, yourself, are you? Are you putting faith in those that have telescopes?

Fact: No one has ever observed a star exploding.

It's a clever story, though. Too bad it leads people to thinking God is a liar. Or is that deliberate?

It all amounts to this: Who are you going to believe? A man with a telescope or God?

For those that want to know more: King James Version Holy Bible.

  • @field16 i dont have to be a scientist to read and understand the findings of scientists....

Fact. Stars have been observed exploding, like i said before their was a supernova (an exploding star) some months ago.

Its not "a man with a telescope" but huge collections of astronomers, in large observatories. scanning the night sky, night after night.. its the hubble space telescope peeking deeper and deeper into the universe.. Its not about belief, its understanding through observation

  • @frackcha Stars exploding is hardly a fact. Yes, "some people say" that stars explode. But people said the Earth was flat, too. People said that the earth was the center of the universe. Does that make it true? No.

And it cannot be proven that we are made of star dust, either. No one was around to observe that. Some day, that idea will be proven false, just like the flat, geocentric earth myth was also proven false.

This world was created by God. There is no proof against that claim.

  • @field16 so someone "has to be around" for something to be proven. Ok, who watched the world being created 6000 years ago? No one? but that means there is no proof for this also?? uh-oh!!

There is much known about the life cycles of stars, much to learn... much more detailed information than you will find in a 2000 year old book. trying to run parallels between modern science and the flat earth theory is, at best laughable. do you enjoy using the Internet?

  • @frackcha It has to be observable to be proven, yes. Otherwise it is a belief. No one has observed a star exploding and creating man. You should easily understand what I am saying. I admit that I believe in God and have faith, even though there is no proof. You should humble yourself a bit and admit the same. To believe that we were created, not by God, but by an exploding star, is a huge leap of faith. No proof.

You and I are both religious.

    Peace.

  • @field16 nah, its not religion, its science. If it were religion i could start an organization, and languish in the tax free status that it would give me... but i cant.... because its science, backed up by evidence, evidence that you can find see for yourself. Should you care to look..... All Atoms other than hydrogen are made in supernova's that is a fact, an observed fact.. sorry :)

  • @field16 "God claimed credit for making this world. He is undisputed in his claim, as dead stars cannot speak against him." [sic]

Stars dont need to be able to speak for us to gain understanding of them, we simply have to watch.. Again, its plain to know how our solar system was 'created' and ultimately we have gravity to thank for it, as it was gravity that drew the hydrogen cloud together until the weight/pressure started the thermonuclear fusion reaction at the core, 'starting' our star..

  • "Forget Jesus, stars had to die so that you could live" Lawrence Krauss

  • @mihaimoldo hahaah nice quote

  • goosebumps ^_^

  • Who says atheists can't be spiritual?

These are the types of things that fill me with awe. i love it. he could have gone further i think and said to each other genetically, to the rest of life biologically, etc.

  • Screw this art bullshit. I am becoming an engineer. Hell yeah. Go Science, GO!

  • We're made of star stuff!

  • This is probably a long shot, but does anyone know what the music in the background is?

  • Neil is my hero! I love listening to him.

  • wish there was a "Love" button, not just a like!

  • If there ever is to be an attorney for Science and The Universe, it's got to be Neil! He's the equivalent to Johnnie Cochran in the courtroom! Science would win every time as it logically should.

  • Great thought.

  • WHY WASN'T HE MY TEACHER WHEN I WAS GROWING UP?!!!!!

  • haha ...NdGT is the best! I'll have a smile on my face for the rest of the day!

  • Tyson is da beast of Science!

  • Search for "We're all connected" here on YT.

  • This is fuckin awesome!

  • The spark people get from science is pure compared to that insincere emptiness I see in religious people's eyes.

  • @ dudev....I SO agree....

  • @dudev

Yeah, they chew on their at least 2000 year old chewing gum and pretend it still tastes something haha!

The Internet: Where religions have come to die ...

  • @aNdYmAtTeR

    As Mr. Burns says --"Excellent!"

  • @dudev Amen, Science FTW!!!
