Now they have the Cowon C2 which is cool and more features and also powerful including an external loud speaker that I like a lot on mp3's. the C2 is about $140 - $150 on Amazon but the Cowon D2 even the D2+ go for $180 used to $250 even $300 on eBay straight from Korea and that just the 4 to 8GB versions. $250 and up for the D2+ 16GB version like the one I have! Truly High Quality mp3

the archos 5g and 7 wipe the floor with everything out there probably more pricer but pure class crystal clear video upto 320gb storage !! and full wireless internet, an u can get a dvr adapter too and more,....
Yeah, if you use the Korean 3.54 and newest 3.55 firmware it uses flash. So that means you can play flash games, flash ui menus and themes along with flash maps. I change flash skins a few times a week just for fun. Cool Itouch themes and original stuff being released on the forums every week. The latest flash calender and notepad rocks.

the firmware is drop dead amazing. It's got ALL the features you've ever heard of from an MP3 player, and WAY MORE. Trust me, i'm no exaggerating fanboy.
so in conclusion.. comparing the D2 with other players in design, it sucks. PERIOD. but in features, IT IS KING.
not only does it have a HUGE LOAD of features, it does ALL those features VERY well. No joke. the 16m color screen reproduces near flawless video/picute playback, the BBE sound enhancements reproduce nearly flawless music playback, and so much more...
with firmware upgrades, a full english-english, english-korean, korean-english, and korean-korean dictionary can be installed along with FLASH games, a notepad to draw, and regular and scientific calculators.
those features sound like gimmicks huh? they sure do.. but get a hold of a D2, try the features out, and THEN make judgements. But from my point of view, all these features are EXTREMELY useful at school, and getting rid of boredom. Seriously.
and the firmware updates from Cowon are far from finalizing. Major bugs are being fixed, and more features are being added.
so for all of you people watching this video out there, a D2 is not a TRUE D2 until the latest firmware update.

The Cowon D2 is called an MP4 player. It supports video formats including AVI and WMV and comes with a converter for DVIX and XVID videos. *dont own one yet just reciting specs*
But atleast they have got rid of both soundstage and atrac in the latest players. But they have less battery time, less powerful amplifier, needs MTP I think and therefor mediaplayer and so on. So there are no reason to go with Sony instead of iRiver or iAudio/Cowon.

and with a simple hacked resource file, the ENTIRE theme of the player can change. It is completely safe, and entire D2 community does it.
