Why can people pick whatever religion they want? Simple. We created God in our own image. Therefore, we can also create and follow whatever religion fits us best. "We have no right to speak on behalf of Allah or god" "We are only to follow the words of Allah or god" Allah/God has never said anything to any of the people who have faith in them, you know only what you know because of others words and writings, who gave them to you on behalf of Allah / God. Actually, the five prayers are in the Quran although not all of them are called by their names. The complete list of those is what comes from the hadith, along with an explanation of how they are performed.
Also, here's a question that you hadith-deniers can never answer. Allah (subhana wata'ala) tells us in the Quran to obey the prophet (SAW) and to emulate him. How are we to do this, now that he is dead, if not through strong ahadith?

A lot of people who are thinking about becoming Muslim start practicing Islam before the shahadah. For example, I tried fasting a week in Ramadan before I took shahadah, and I know someone who started praying regularly for about a month before taking it. So this is not uncommon, but my advice is, if you know Islam is the truth and you want to practice it, why wait to take the shahadah? Is the there something holding you back?
@dawahaddict Actually I grew up Baptist Christian, but have not been very much involved in it for eight years. I have been seeking answers for many questions and I discovered my interest in Islam through a college assignment. If Islam is tolerant of other religions, is it tolerant of observing multiple ideas from different faiths. Or is it a all in or all out?

Actually, the five prayers are in the Quran although not all of them are called by their names. The complete list of those is what comes from the hadith, along with an explanation of how they are performed.
Also, here's a question that you hadith-deniers can never answer. Allah (subhana wata'ala) tells us in the Quran to obey the prophet (SAW) and to emulate him. How are we to do this, now that he is dead, if not through strong ahadith?

in the west the banks make around £40,000 for every £100,000 of people's money. They give the people about 3% i.e £3,000. Where as they should only keep £5,000 for their work i.e. fees and expenses and return around £35,000 to the people. They used our money!

In the United States, by the 1880s,most states set the age of consent at ten or twelve, and in one state, Delaware, the age of consent was only seven.A New York Times article states that it was still aged seven in Delaware in 1895.

So even in the United States of America which is a western nation based upon Christian values and principles, the age for marriage in atleast one state of Delaware (original colonies of America) was 7 years in 1895. Not till after 1920, less than 100 years ago did the legal age become 16 or 18.

There are no logical religions, faith can only come about by suspending rational thought, because only then will you be able to blind yourself to the evidence against your delusional ideas. For most religious people this happens as a child, so they simply have a rational "blindspot" when it comes to matters of faith. Creating a dichotomy in their mind where they are rational about alot of things but not religion.

I am an engineer and many engineers i know from MIT, university of Manchester, university of Cambridge, University of toronto, University of Nottingham, University of windsor do believe in God and many of them are muslims and some who have converted to islam, infact. Y? Bcoz islam is infact the only religion which teaches mankind to worship the creator and not the creation. Islam is the only religion acceptable to God. Peace!

Can one practice Islam before Shahadah?

A lot of people who are thinking about becoming Muslim start practicing Islam before the shahadah. For example, I tried fasting a week in Ramadan before I took shahadah, and I know someone who started praying regularly for about a month before taking it. So this is not uncommon, but my advice is, if you know Islam is the truth and you want to practice it, why wait to take the shahadah? Is the there something holding you back?

@dawahaddict Actually I grew up Baptist Christian, but have not been very much involved in it for eight years. I have been seeking answers for many questions and I discovered my interest in Islam through a college assignment. If Islam is tolerant of other religions, is it tolerant of observing multiple ideas from different faiths. Or is it a all in or all out?

Maybe not the most eloquent saying, but the message is applicable here. Islam is the way of life that Allah has given to us.
