I was born in 1961 and I was a super 8mm enthusiast for a long time. The problem was that a cartrige only held 50 metres = 2'30'' worth of film if filmed at 24 fps. So even if one goes to the trouble of collecting 8mm films of 70s Genesis gigs, all they would end up with is snippets since any film enthusiast back then (including myself) was aware of the limited film stock duration and just filmed some highlights - even if film supply wasn't an issue, reloading would take a few seconds.
This is simply astounding. By far, best footage I've ever seen from the legendary 1974 Black Show. Also, the Squonk, Dancing With The Moonlight Knight, Back In NY City and One for the Vine are an absolute MUST.
Simply wonderful. A work of love. A lot of compromise, passion and talent!
the 8mm footage you show from 1977-1980 is brilliant. Expecially any footage from specifically 1978 only. Mirrors and lasers holy cow best lighting rig ever.

Since this video was added on Nov. 11th, perhaps this is a sign of something? Will they be tracking down Genesis\Peter Gabriel 8MM films and cleaning them up and making them look beautiful? 'CAUSE THAT WOULD BE AWESOME!! And they ARE saying to save the 8MM films you have, so this probably IS a sign...

If I'm not mistaken, thats from the melt tour in 1980.
I didn't know that good of footage has survived...
I sync Jethro Tull 8MM clips (found on my channel) and I've havn't seen that clear of 8MM footage for a long time.
