no ur wrong! if u learn from places like taksaal and nihang dere they strictly tell you not to wear one. it is biadbi. yes we wear dastaar and dont cut our hair but out of respect to guru ji we dont wear a kalgi. thats why we call him kalgidar paathshaa because only he wears it. baba deep singh, banda singh bahadur and all these great sikhs never wore one and we are no better than them. even sant jarnail singh khalsa bhindranvale says it and if we have respect for our guru we will not wear one!

a few differences between muslims & sikh beards are the sikh hair are uncut under the turban they have long hair like woman,they dont cut hair from any where,we muslims have to trim our hair on the back of the neck & front of the neck & our mustach can not over lap on out upper lip for hygiene reasons,sikhs generelly have a long mustach.
