Very touching song----pragmatic with the philosophy of the very business of LIFE. Bhagvati charan's book--Chitralekha has come alive in the beautiful rendering of the song--my all time favourite.
Beautiful ' chhayavadi' geet from saahir as compared to his ' rahasyavadi' geet " Laaga chunri me daag" . saahir has written the best Bhajans in Indian Film industry. His true worth as poet ( Shaayar) was never acknowledged by the Literary world as he was writing for movies !!!???
This was voted as the best song in Bollywood history by Outlook Magazine in 2005. Panel included all leading singers, lyricists and music directors who are alive today
This is my favourite song, and I believe in its philosophy. Utna hi upkaar samajh koi jitana saath nibha de, janam maran ka mel hai sapna ye sapna bisaraa de.Thank you Haiderabadi for uploading this gem.
@kuckudk Touch of message from Bhagvad Gita. Isn't it? Also in stanza, "...is jeevan ke chadhti dhalti dhoop ko kisne bandha, rang pe kisne pehre dale, roop ko kisne bandha, kahe ye jatan kare...
@kuckudk And in the same film - "Chitralekha" the poet has penned another song that is by lata "Sansar se bhage phirte ho...." presenting completely diffrent version of philosophy by saying in one line ".......Har yug main badlate dharmo ko kaise adarsh banaoge........" That is the class of writers and philopsophical productions Indian Film industry used to have and NO MORE.
This song is a conversation of one with his real self and in a few verses have raised such questions, answers to which refers one to his self actualization. Amazingly sung by the all time greatest singer. Thanks for the postage.
The melodious philosophy of life.

no one does singing better than rafi sahab
Mashallah I agree with the above totally. Rafi had a divine voice which can only be bestowed by the Almighty. Pray he sends someone to match Rafi.
