@QQxaribass i saw a vid of 2huskies living in single apartment with their owner, she says its fine as long as u give them daily excersise they need. not just a big yard cuz they might just lay around in it and get bored without pushing them on excersise and getting them into new stuff [not sure if its right or wrong]

Malamutes are so hard to train because they are soooo smart. They are so independent and have minds of their own. They reason and don't see the purpose behind training unlike other breeds who mindlessly obey.

@gostate1431 I agree with your assertion that they are very intelligent indeed, but I wouldn't say that they are hard to train. Keeping in mind that these are very much a pack animal, then pack thinking must be used when dealing with them. You MUST be the alpha to gain respect and trust. The training needs to apply to the breed, meaning you wont train a Malamute the same as you train a Shitzu. Basics still apply but modifications are necessary.

Frost is now 10 month and 2 weeks old. He is 94# and still does all commands. He will do both paws while he sits - "called PAW PAW" I will be working on him backing up & I need to upload the snow pile jumps - much Mal FUN!!!

Sorry we haven't logged in for a while. We did a 6 wk puppy kindergarten class and then an 8 week basic obedience class. He did really well, but we worked with him a lot. Congrats on getting one - I bet you can't wait for spring to come! :)
