Secondhand Serenade has a depressing story. The name of the artist is because all the songs on the first album were serenades he actually wrote for his wife, and he just compiled them into an album for everyone else to hear. He was writing the second album for her, but before it was ever released, she divorced him. So he titled the second one "A Twist In My Story".

He's still writing songs under the same stage name. It's almost saddening if you think about it. My heart goes out to you, J.V. <3

I remembered back during the days when John Vesely (Secondhand Serenade), was only selling his music on his myspace acc. and when he was still indie. This was the EXACT version of vulnerable i was listening to back during my highschool. Now that I am college and saw this song under VEVO. I was kind of sad that such talent has to be commercialized.

But hey, he is still a good artist no matter what. I mean, The Beatles was also commercialized right? But they're still great rock on.
