  • Hello Billies.... you popped into my head yesterday when I was in Forest Hill.... great bunch of lovely people....

  • What a fantastic band this lot were! How about a re-union. Slim is doing one with The Boothill Foot Tappers 28th Jan at The 100 Club & really looking forward to that one!

  • Memories or what! Fangs for 'em! ;-)

  • i had a ska compiation tape with these guys on it.. the song was jumpstart or jumper cable or something...it was awesome...

  • Yeah, I had a compilation with that same song. It was so good, I never managed to find anything else by them though...

  • Hi everybody, Do you remember your the great tour in Belgieum at the end of the eighties, after a few gigs (6), there was already a fan club ...

Bernard (their agent in belgium at the time)

  • thanks for putting this up, fantastic! went to france three times with them as well as silkscreening their posters for the albany, tunnel club, lewisham labour club and the green man, that's my three week old daughter matt's holding there and the lady in the rebel in deptford t shirt , jill, is her mum!

  • I first came across the band while walking up the main drag at Glasto'84 I think. In between some stalls - Tea chest bass, trumpet, guitar/harmonica if my memory serves me well. They were learning thier instruments and songs and they seemed almost shy hiding between the market stalls. I was hooked there and then. We went to many gigs and struck up a friendship. It was great when my mate Johnny T and Slim joined. We played a few gigs together. They should have been huge.

    Andy P - Passion Puppets

  • Ah yes, the Amersham, The Crcketers, Paradise Bar, Albany Empire, Greyhound, Lewisham Labour Club, CAST New Variety, T&C, Brixton Academy, Gaz's Rockin Blues... not to mention France, Belgium.. Happy dayz!

  • Yeah, would've seen them in their latter days at the Amersham Arms, they'd 2 female singers at the time and a trumpet player who'd been with Bad Manners. They released a great ska verion of the Munsters theme before going through a dodgy period under the guise of 'The Billies'

  • At last!! How many times have I searched for a Forest Hill Billie video?

Many a good night on the pish spent dancing to this lot. There must be a video of one of the gigs kicking about? Anyone?!?

  • Yeah great track, I'm pretty sure I have it on flexi disc (remember those?!). Very good live band too, they came up with quite a unique and an interesting take on ska

  • Well that was fab, it takes me back to my Forest Hill days ... I still have my 7" vinyl copy of 'It's the Wolf'! xx

  • FANTASTIC!

    XXX

  • Yay!

  • JUMP START!
