Having had an anterior cervical discectomy and corpectomy w/ no fusion, hardware,...and great results 12 years post surgery and only wishing that artificial discs were available when I had my surgery, why would the ADR not have been the better route for Peyton in terms of preserving mobility vs. further wear and tear w/ a fusion?
Peyton is going to be fine, I'm sure of it. 3 months is not that long anyway. I just hope we can make it to the playoffs so that if Peyton is willing to play there would still be hope to make it to the Super Bowl. After all, he is Peyton Manning, when he returns it will be as if he never had any problems, no rust. haha! =]
@duckgirl2 Glad you are feeling better after your surgery. Every patient is a little different in their recovery so you are right it may take 6 months to a year for some patients to fully fuse! Keep up the good work!
I had the same surgery and It usually takes 6 months to a year to fully fuse. I am currently 3 months post op and although I feel much better than I did pre op, my bones are not fused yet.
@Xemnort2x Any kind of surgery to the spine will take a little time to heal properly, this type of surgery may take a few months until all physical restrictions are cleared. Unfortunately for the Colts, he had to have his recovery time during this season, but we all hope to see him back up and playing next season.
