In my opinion both the American and Japanese trucks and SUVs are great. Befor emoving to Europe, I owned an F-150 in the States and it was a great truck. I bought it b/c I was building my house at the time and needed something to haul material. It did a great job and never once let me down. Here in Europe I drive a 2006 Land Cruiser Prado and am also very happy with it. It is rather economical with the diesel motor and is very tough as I know b/c i am always using it off the road.
Most American vehicles by fact with most US parts and built here Toyota Camry Honda accord Toyota Sienna Toyota tundra all have uS parts content Of 75% or greater. SIlverado is 60% plus built in Mexico.

Yeah it is pretty funny that the Toyota tundra is actually the only 100% made truck, all the rest are made in Mexico, or use parts from vehicles on the European market, the tundra has been sourced and built entirely in America.
God I love my Tundra but hate the bed shake. A lot of the guys on construction sites use them as work, play & family truck and no complaints other than the bouncy ride when the bed is empty. I believe Toyota fixed the problem from 09 onwards.
The 5.7 I drive feels ridiculously fast. So much so I got my 1st ever speeding ticket (12 years of flawless driving down the drain) because 90mph is effortless even when fully loaded with my tools and the motor purrs barely above 2000 rpm.
@graduatecraftsman I have the '09 Tundra 4x4 ex cab, with a shell on back, and pack it for trips to MN (long drive!!) from Encinitas, CA. Fully loaded, with the AC cranked, some trail driving(camping), mountains, etc. That truck came in with an average of over 18mpg, was super comfortable, and has more power than I know what to do with. I had an '03 bmw m3 so I know what power feels like, and that truck hauls ass. Great truck. Bought an FJ Cruiser and love that as well. Great vehicles, PERIOD.

My dad has the 5.7 litre Tundra and we haul a 4 ton 5th-wheel camper with it. It is so smooth that at times you forget you have a whale sized trailer right behind you. Everything from acceleration to braking is done without much struggle or worry from the driver. Plus the 5.7 version has a 6 speed auto which is just awesome to play with. Buy the Tundra and you won't look back

In my opinion both the American and Japanese trucks and SUVs are great. Befor emoving to Europe, I owned an F-150 in the States and it was a great truck. I bought it b/c I was building my house at the time and needed something to haul material. It did a great job and never once let me down. Here in Europe I drive a 2006 Land Cruiser Prado and am also very happy with it. It is rather economical with the diesel motor and is very tough as I know b/c i am always using it off the road.

God I love my Tundra but hate the bed shake. A lot of the guys on construction sites use them as work, play & family truck and no complaints other than the bouncy ride when the bed is empty. I believe Toyota fixed the problem from 09 onwards.
The 5.7 I drive feels ridiculously fast. So much so I got my 1st ever speeding ticket (12 years of flawless driving down the drain) because 90mph is effortless even when fully loaded with my tools and the motor purrs barely above 2000 rpm.

@graduatecraftsman I have the '09 Tundra 4x4 ex cab, with a shell on back, and pack it for trips to MN (long drive!!) from Encinitas, CA. Fully loaded, with the AC cranked, some trail driving(camping), mountains, etc. That truck came in with an average of over 18mpg, was super comfortable, and has more power than I know what to do with. I had an '03 bmw m3 so I know what power feels like, and that truck hauls ass. Great truck. Bought an FJ Cruiser and love that as well. Great vehicles, PERIOD.

My dad has the 5.7 litre Tundra and we haul a 4 ton 5th-wheel camper with it. It is so smooth that at times you forget you have a whale sized trailer right behind you. Everything from acceleration to braking is done without much struggle or worry from the driver. Plus the 5.7 version has a 6 speed auto which is just awesome to play with. Buy the Tundra and you won't look back

And you get more options with the Silverado, even a 6.0L 6 speed variation that beats the Tundra down the track by .5 seconds. You get more payload/towing and a more comfortable/smoother ride. @frankiej510 Dodge has the Rambox storage compartments, they have the under floor storage compartments, they have the coilspring rear end. Ford has the step up feature on their trucks, they come from the factory with locking tool boxes, bed rails and more. Chevrolet, the only thing they've had thats new is getting the Allison transmission. That's it.

@toyoracing89 Okay and you want to forgot about Avalanches/EXT mid gate feature, the 4 wheel steering, and 2 mode hybrid transmission. That's just for the newer GM trucks. Now you talk about Fords bed side locking storage boxes, well guess what? The Escalade EXT and Avalanche had it first. I'm also pretty sure Dodge didn't come up with under floor storage. My 72 El Camino has under floor storage. BTW Dodge wasn't the first truck to have coils in the rear and even then leaf > coil is a truck.
