Yeah, I'm going to have to upload one of the Lee Hazlewood tracks with her on it just everyone can hear her awesome voice again. So hard to find though.
This was actually my FIRST time hearing this. It's QUITE lovely. The Nancy Sinatra/Suzie Jane Hokum thing is interesting also. Although Suzie Jane Hokum DOES sound like a made up name,it didn't SOUND like Nancy Sinatra to me, but as I'm not her BIGGEST fan(I LIKE her I just couldnt say that I go out of my way to listen to her)that doesn't necessarily mean that it WASNT Nancy Sinatra.
Some ass is going around marking some of my comments as spam, I was just trying to make sure Mort fans get this album off of my blog. See Video Description
I read into that a while back and the people on Nancy's forum say it's definitely not her. I had always kind of figured that because her voice is nowhere near as soft and high as this singers. Even her softest ballads have the same kind of baritone to them as her 'boots are made for walkin' song. I'd really love to out who this woman is, she was brilliant!
Mort Garson (1924-2008), composer, arranger and Moog synth innovator must never be forgotten. Thanks for posting this classic, sung by Suzie Jane Hokom (Dorothy), from this 1968 release on A&M Records (SP 4156).

The music of my childhood. My parents had this album and I use to listen to it.

this sounds a lot like present-day group Broadcast. Anyone else hear the resemblance?

@runitecastle I do now, they have a very beautiful sound. Thanks for the indirect recommend! lol

@runitecastle thats because alot of broadcast influence comes from 60's/70's psychodelia music

Suzy Jane Hokum is a real person who sang on many of Lee Hazelwood's albums. I heard her voice the same as it is in this song.

Mind me if I upload a Playlist of this in the near future.

supposedly Suzie Jane Hokum is actually Nancy Sinatra.
This is one of my all-time favorite albums, and this and Big Sur are my two favorite tracks from it.
thanks for posting!
