Fact: All linemen hold. Pro Bowlers hold. Backups hold. Average guys hold. It's one of the hardest penalties for a ref to call, consistently, because it's so hard to see if five blocks happening consecutively , at different spots on the field were all clean. The good linemen just don't get called for it, because they know how to be sneaky about it. Anybody who ever played O or D-line in real football will confirm that. Especially on a confusing play like this.
Oh no, most of the guys I've played with and against know that they're holding, but they do it anyway. I mean, I did it too, when I played guard. Think about it this way; The defensive guys can do whatever they want, short of murder, to get to the quarterback. They can get away with doing almost anything to an O-lineman. It CAN get pretty brutal. I'd say the Offensive guys are entitled to hold every couple of plays, myself.
well in the higher ranks you learn how to not do it as much but still the ref has to let it go sometime or theres gonna be alot of penaltys and i agree you should be able to hold a little i hate that even if you arm slips its called if they see it
That last sentence is basically my reason for being purely a defensive lineman, now. Besides, I've been coached by guys who have played, and been coached at the University level (Not a D-1 program, but smaller schools, in Canada). Thy basically said that there ARE coaches who will try and refine the legal techniques you can use, to block, but a lot of coaches are more likely to show you really smart ways of avoiding penalties.
There was bigtime holding on the play on Seymour and especially Adalius Thomas, but it doesn't matter. Calls like that are missed all the time and it was still the most unbelievable catch I've ever seen, so the Giants get credit and deserved it.
It's not a holding penalty if you have the ball. It's really impossible to not tug on someone when trying to tackle them. Now if he didn't have the ball, that would be a different story, and this play probably wouldn't have existed.

The Giants got favored by the refs heavily in this game. Especially on the fumble by Eli when the giants player knocked if down field and you are not allowed to do that. The penalty was called and assessed incorrectly. Before the play it was 3rd and 18. The fumble was behind the line of scrimmage. The player sent the ball forward within ten yards of the LOS. The ball got recovered 1 yard past the first down marker. The penalty should have made it 3rd and 13 at best.
It was a five yard penalty and I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be assessed from the spot of the infraction. If it is not you can use this penalty as an advantage to advance the ball. I don't think the rule is written like that though. This rule should also be altered to include a loss of down.

Fact: All linemen hold. Pro Bowlers hold. Backups hold. Average guys hold. It's one of the hardest penalties for a ref to call, consistently, because it's so hard to see if five blocks happening consecutively , at different spots on the field were all clean. The good linemen just don't get called for it, because they know how to be sneaky about it. Anybody who ever played O or D-line in real football will confirm that. Especially on a confusing play like this.

Oh no, most of the guys I've played with and against know that they're holding, but they do it anyway. I mean, I did it too, when I played guard. Think about it this way; The defensive guys can do whatever they want, short of murder, to get to the quarterback. They can get away with doing almost anything to an O-lineman. It CAN get pretty brutal. I'd say the Offensive guys are entitled to hold every couple of plays, myself.

That last sentence is basically my reason for being purely a defensive lineman, now. Besides, I've been coached by guys who have played, and been coached at the University level (Not a D-1 program, but smaller schools, in Canada). Thy basically said that there ARE coaches who will try and refine the legal techniques you can use, to block, but a lot of coaches are more likely to show you really smart ways of avoiding penalties.

There was bigtime holding on the play on Seymour and especially Adalius Thomas, but it doesn't matter. Calls like that are missed all the time and it was still the most unbelievable catch I've ever seen, so the Giants get credit and deserved it.

It's not a holding penalty if you have the ball. It's really impossible to not tug on someone when trying to tackle them. Now if he didn't have the ball, that would be a different story, and this play probably wouldn't have existed.

Once the Giants had nobody left to cover Moss Brady quickly threw 2 TDs to Moss.. Prior to Madison going down Moss couldn't get open to save his life. THe Giants were playing an effective cover 2 on him, while simutaniously getting pressure on Brady. That proves they are better..

The Giants got favored by the refs heavily in this game. Especially on the fumble by Eli when the giants player knocked if down field and you are not allowed to do that. The penalty was called and assessed incorrectly. Before the play it was 3rd and 18. The fumble was behind the line of scrimmage. The player sent the ball forward within ten yards of the LOS. The ball got recovered 1 yard past the first down marker. The penalty should have made it 3rd and 13 at best.

It was a five yard penalty and I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be assessed from the spot of the infraction. If it is not you can use this penalty as an advantage to advance the ball. I don't think the rule is written like that though. This rule should also be altered to include a loss of down.

giants got lucky wen they didnt get a penalty for toomer facemasking hobbs in first quarter. giants olinemen holding seymour in that video...wen coughlin pulled the reff to get his attention, that shuda been a penalty u cant put ur hands on a ref. that fumble recover by woods shuda stayed with the pats...he had the ball and was also down by contact, whistle shuda been blown...GIANTS GOT LUCKY

The opening kickoff, when Hixon almost got his head torn off with a face mask? 15 yards
Hixon was shoved after a play, when he went to talk to the guy who shoved him he smacked him across the face mask hard enough to turn his head sideways.. 15 yards unsportsmanlike conduct.
Strahan and Osi held a million times. never called once.
The Pats got beat down. Deal with it.

weel hixion face mask was also grab in very begining so if had the 15 yard we probably got touch down score be 21-14 so ya patriot fans deal with you got lucky

That was the Fox TV stations clock.. The one you see on TV is controled by the station that broadcasts it. THe guy running it wasn't doing a great job at the end of the game syncing it to the official game clock wich was working perfectly.
