  • NO Flash is like a car driving down the (not electronic) highway and missing all electronic signs because your Ferrari doesn't support traffic lights and so on....come on, whichever reason they will have for not using Flash, it sucks for the users...bigtime!

And HTML5 will run on almost any android browser app from the market.

But Itunes will remain the biggest reason to say NO to Apple.

  • No ads! BONUS! GO APPLE!

  • ههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههه

  • if u dont have flash u cant play any facebook games

  • @conrad161 ya but they make them just for the ipad on the app store

  • @conrad161 Sorry but I have to disagree. Famous FB games are already available for iPhone, e.g. Farmville. Furthermore, would you prefer FB games over iPhone games like Infinity Blade and Angry Birds???

  • @bongky18 Also any game of note for iOS devices made so far *only works on iOS devices* which means the developer has to write ports of his software to make it work on other platforms (Android, OSX, Windows, Linux, etc.) That goes against the whole intention of Flash: to allow the developer to make one application that works for anything, much like Java which is also banned on iPhone BTW, and much like Unity which is also banned.

  • @bongky18 Finally, why are all these banned? It's not quality control, that's for sure. Apple wants you to only run their approved software. Don't believe me? Here's a clause from the development agreement for the iOS SDK: "No interpreted code may be downloaded or used in an Application except for code that is interpreted and run by Apple’s Documented APIs and built-in interpreter(s)." The bottom line is that you get to play where Apple lets you play.

  • @conrad161 HTML 5 lol

  • @conrad161 Not true a lot of apple apps games connect to facebook. :)

  • The website detect the iPad as a mobile device (because it DOESN'T have flash) and displays alternative content, in this case I would guess at animated gifs. So the iPad doesn't have flash of any kind, mainly because it doesn't need it.

  • @johncolesuk it's HTML5

  • @johncolesuk - Now you simply need to install "Frash" and "User Agent Faker", the faker can emulate ipad, safari, chrome, mozilla etc. You can even give custom headers to use when surfing. Then you choose which apps will use this header, I choose safari the built in browser. Now the built in browser on my iphone 4 and ipad supports full flash. You can also install Netflix streaming on the iphone now (was only on ipad before). This all requires a jailbroken phone of course

  • what are you trying to show i see no flash

  • apple, stop being too greedy and hold hands with adobe. We need to be able to play flash.

  • the page notices when you browser supports flash!

so it replaces all flash based advertisement with simple pictures ... maybe even animated gifs (if they are supported)

    this video is worthless!

Your browser does support flash ... it just doesn't load the plugin without you clicking on the actual flash parts :)

so the page was offered with flash for you ... but without flash objects for mr. jobs! alternatives are great :)

  • @brainphreak

aehm ... ok ... one single question from my side ... why would I want flash!?

never wanted it ... never really needed it ... worthless crap!

  • @hammer082 - Why would you want flash? The same reason you want a computer I would guess. To take advantage of its functionality. To be 'compatible', maybe watch google video or other video sites? Of course if your perfectly content with limiting yourself to youtube, hulu, etc. than no need for flash. Those who wish to have full compatibility use it.

Dont like it, dont use it, just like any technology it has its uses and some people will oppose it. However it no longer a 'limiting" factor

  • @brainphreak

you can't fly with an ipad either ... is that a limiting factor, too?

you don't need flash ... vor videos, there's html5, for animations there is javascript, and all the other things, that are highly playfull are rediculously unnecessary in daily use of the internet!

  • @hammer082 - Dude you are a retard. Learn to read before you buy an ipad :)

My post states that Flash IS available. That it is NOT a limiting factor.

BTW, just as a heads up, you dont generally buy a PC, tablet, iphone, etc. so that you can fly, you read too much harry potter...

  • @brainphreak

flash is the definition of a limiting factor ... if one decides flash is needed for their enjoyment of the internet ... even frash won't help ... all there is for ios, android and other platforms are compromises and workarounds ... if someone felt flash is a limitng factor for apple products ... then this still exists!!! frash is not going to change that ... half of the stuff doesn't work, some are laggy, others crash ... and it's the same everywhere! That's all I'm saying!

  • @hammer082 because 95% of the users viewing #3 and #2 site of the world (facebook and youtube) use flash player for displaying media?

  • @jasje

and for both, there are apps, allowing to watch the videos smoothely ...

oh ... and there's also HTML5, that youtube (and many more) already support ... making it possible to watch those videos within the browser on the IPHONE and many other phones ...

oh, and additionally ... I have a galaxy S WITH the flash lite ... not a single video on youtube within the page, utilizing this plugin runs smothely ... worthless, as I said before ... fortunately you can turn it off :)

  • I'm not gonna sound smart, however I'll be accurate when I comment and say that Steve Jobs is just a douche-bag! He makes Bill Gates look like Mother Theresa!

  • really you can see hulu on the ipad!!! that's awsome

  • @ComradeSlice I understand that flash is the biggest reason for crashes hence I have a Macbook myself. Hopefully that all changes with Apple's new released API. I wanted flash on iPad when I first seen it, but after it's release most sites are conforming and Hulu will soon be available so not much need for it now. I Appreciate all the comments and hope you enjoyed my first video

  • @OneBiggBoss I am an Apple software developer. The reason Flash is not on the iPhone is because Flash for MacOS X is the number one cause of crashes in OS X. The Flash for iPhone OS that Adobe developed is an almost exact copy of the OS X version. It's not about Apple trying to control content on their device, it's about quality control. HTML5 is much faster than Flash.

  • @ComradeSlice

Works fine on my PC!! Also.. I have Jailbroken my phone and and have been using multitasking for a few months now on my 3G... and a lot of other extremely cool apps like disabling that stupid screen rotation when I am laying on my bed, tethering, using my phone as a flash drive, advances SMS, Combined email In-boxes... etc.

WTF don't you allow people the freedom to put the apps they want on the phone? U lost on the computer world and u will loose again on mobile world as well.

  • @ComradeSlice. Really. Serious. That's a laugh. Cuz When I run Final Cut Flash isn't running. Don't be a hater. It's sooo Apple!

  • @ComradeSlice then why dont you guys get flash to work with your OS like it does with windows or linux ALLELUJUAH! of the very few crashes ive had over the years ive been building pcs i dont recall any of them from flash. they were either from me overclocking or putting the wrong driver in. or on my first computer when i started deletings windows files just to see what happened.

  • @reallybigjohnson Mac users are at the mercy of Adobe to fix these bugs when Flash crashes. Adobe is just lazy and OS X is not a tier one platform to them.

  • Comment removed

  • its not flash. its html 5.

  • Those flash boxes doesnt mean there will be flash on it, Apple is apparently in a fight with Adobe after saying it was too slow for the iPhone and iTouch and iPad and those Flash boxes just mean it needs flash to be able to see it

  • @iPhoneMan181 Those flash boxes were a plugin (Click2Flash) for the desktop version of Safari. He didn't do that on the iPad.
