Just discovered him today. Guys like Don Nix and JJ Cale... I never would have found them if not for Leon Russell videos. All these great musicians slipped by me while I grew up listening to Rock and Roll in the 60's and 70's. Such a treat to be discovering them now!

He wrote " Going Down" that was one of Jeff Becks bigger hits. He also sang in the back up singers in George Harrison's Bangladesh Concert.He also played in a Memphis group called the Mar-Keys. A Memphis boy.....

Is this the same Don Nix who released an album in about '69 called "Bluse?" (That's how it was spelled on the album.) It's one of my favorite albums.
