the ray sphere was made in kessler's time, he just went back in time to advance its creation by several years to give cole his powers earlier and remove emotional bonds so cole could become powerful enough to stop the beast when he showed up.

That means in the future, Cole is not gonna go back in time, because he already killed the Beast, since the purpose of all this, was to make his past self, aware what's gonna happen if he don't kill the Beast, and make the same mistake he did before (or later?)

Regarding the Prototype vs inFamous debate, Ill have to say inFamous in almost every way. Prototype's combat was superior and its story had great potential, but inFamous' sotry ended up becoming much more refined: Cole's attitude and investment in the plot make Mercer look like a cardboard character by comparison. Not to mention inFamous 2 improved its predecessor in almost every way, whereas Prototype 2 looks like a lazy attempt to milk a dead game.
