I never liked tobey maguire I first saw Spiderman when I was 4 and he made me feel weird and sad I don't know why but that first impression I can't shake.
this is worrying me because they said that the script was gritty on the wiki page. I DO NOT WANT GRITTY SPIDEY! The lizard's gonna be a villain and this dude I 've never heard of, but is in the comics is gonna be there too. He's this guy Norman drugged and turned into a monster or something. This sounds cool, but there's gonna be 2 transforming guys in the movie? I was more hopeful at first, but the GRITTINESS is worrying me.
Yeah i was never a fan of Tobey's spider-man, spiderman is supposed to be clever yet geeky and pulls lots of lame smart ass jokes, and i didnt see that in this trilogy and i also agree that spiderman didnt show his full strength all of the time, and carrying a car would show that.
as much as i love the raimi spiderman trilogy, i will say that they piss me off cuz whatever they take from the comics, they alter dramatically. case and point the bridge scene from the first movie. taken straight from amazing spiderman #122, except instead of it being gwen stacy, its mary jane, and instead of gwen stacy dying (in this case its mary jane), shes still alive. was there really a need to change pretty much everything? thank God the origin was intact.

@1994winds i have read all the spiderman comics and you are right i hate the changes they made...for example i hate that the symbiote was created in a fucking laboratory and that carnage is in fact gwen stacy,i mean wtf spiderman can't even fight the sinister six because they changed the origins of all villains...and now you tell me is it smart to do a ultimate spiderman movie because everyone knows about spectacular and amazing because they have tv series...ultimate is just a comic rip-off

Yes omg i hate how they undermined spider-man. Spider-man has super strength, and show the spider sence better, he has so many powers than people think, and he can't shoot web he makes that.
They should really make the reboot similar to the Specacular Spider-man Cartoon Show. It had a brilliant mix of action, drama, and comedy, the characters were developed and interesting, and they did alter a few things in some characters (ie Shocker and Electro), but kept the overall impression and actally IMPROVED in them in some ways. For those of you who haven't watched it, do it, NOW. IMO, it's absolutely the best incarnation of Spidey outside of the comics to date. 'Nuff said.

I really liked the original Spider-Man trilogy, but I'm glad it will stay a trilogy. Like you were saying there isn't much left for it, and so this reboot could be good for Spider-Man. I agree it needs to be colorful, and that Spidey needs to be able to get those jokes across well.
I don't like how they made Venom a suit that was created by Peter Parker's father and Eddie Brock's father in Ultimate Spider-Man. I liked him better as symbiote. Including Carnage. I do agree with crossing Classic with Ultimate.

For me, Spider-Man became importan when the Mega Drive (a really old computer game console) Spider-Man game came out. My favourite boss from that game was Electro (cmimw), I think he would be great on film and will give Peter a chance to be all science-hero as well as Web-Hero. As long as the relationships are set up right for later villains I think they can't go wrong. Oh! And 3D! @BeTheChangeWeNeed - 3D would be awesome, agreed!

You're overstating the importance of Spider-Man in high school a bit since, before Ultimate Spider-Man, he wasn't in high school very long. Still, one full movie of him in high school would probably work well.
I'm not saying it's not important, but it was less than 10 years. Probably closer to 5. Stan Lee was the one who had him graduate. He was the only one to write Peter in high school (not counting flashbacks and Untold Tales, etc.).

I honestly don't get why some people say spiderman 3 wasn't good. I agree that they couldve give Venom more screentime and depht, but I guess it was meant to be an introduction. Plus a lot of shit happened already in sm3, they couldn't make it that much longer. And as far as the "emo"-part is concerned: its hilarious,... and the conflict between Harry and Peter is done pretty well, I mean I believe it.

I really liked the original Spider-Man trilogy, but I'm glad it will stay a trilogy. Like you were saying there isn't much left for it, and so this reboot could be good for Spider-Man. I agree it needs to be colorful, and that Spidey needs to be able to get those jokes across well.

I don't like how they made Venom a suit that was created by Peter Parker's father and Eddie Brock's father in Ultimate Spider-Man. I liked him better as symbiote. Including Carnage. I do agree with crossing Classic with Ultimate.

For me, Spider-Man became importan when the Mega Drive (a really old computer game console) Spider-Man game came out. My favourite boss from that game was Electro (cmimw), I think he would be great on film and will give Peter a chance to be all science-hero as well as Web-Hero. As long as the relationships are set up right for later villains I think they can't go wrong. Oh! And 3D! @BeTheChangeWeNeed - 3D would be awesome, agreed!

The New Avengers and the Mighty Avengers are still Avengers either way but he isnt apart of the original Avengers... thats all so yes Spider-Man is an avenger now as a member of The New Avenger but not apart of the original team.

I agree with what your saying about Tobey Maguire. I never liked him as Spider-Man even when I was a kid watching the first movie. He just didn't feel right for the part. I believe for the new movie they should most definitely consult Bendis for the plot. He would know most about high school Parker.

I'm not saying it's not important, but it was less than 10 years. Probably closer to 5. Stan Lee was the one who had him graduate. He was the only one to write Peter in high school (not counting flashbacks and Untold Tales, etc.).

I honestly don't get why some people say spiderman 3 wasn't good. I agree that they couldve give Venom more screentime and depht, but I guess it was meant to be an introduction. Plus a lot of shit happened already in sm3, they couldn't make it that much longer. And as far as the "emo"-part is concerned: its hilarious,... and the conflict between Harry and Peter is done pretty well, I mean I believe it.
