he probably doesn't have the time, it end the series really early, it never happens in the manga, and probably doesn't want to get rid of it. it says in the last chapter of the manga that he finally accepts his curse when he is standing in Junsenkyo looking at all the cursed springs flooded together. yet he does fight ryoga, genma, and mousse for the water that would cure him, just to have it spill.
