Very rarely can be seen such technical "MISSED" by safety professionals>Volvo.
This is a "security shame" ,just see where are the chests of the driver and where is the airbag. So Volvo, next time work much more, you can't live on the old glory.
I'd consider sitting in a cab of a COE truck quite safe, as you would generally collide with a car or a trailer of another truck. I've always wondered how they manage to protect the driver, and this was probably better than I expected (although the driver would sustain serious chest injuries). I'd imagine buses are far worse, though - I've seen accidents where the people in the first 2 rows end up flying out where the windscreen used to be.
This airbag is a vital unsafe component in a Volvo truck.

Airbad was at the wrong trigger angle and useless, Driver would have been decapitated a millisecond after chest was crushed.
