Plz explain the "black light" that u see. I've never heard anyone describe a feeling of "euphoria" when coming out of SP, especially if they experience the frightening presence, but i'm curious to hear if others have. In class, u would have discussed in detail people dying on the operating table and coming back. They feel "euphoria", yes. Keep reading and researching for a better understanding of both concepts. Your professor is there to guide u but if you don't study u won't understand.
So if you read about NDEs you find that many meet their dead relatives. Not living ones, but dead. Do you have this experience in sleep paralysis? Do you have the OBE. That you literally hover outside of the body and can observe the room from another perspective visually?
I don't think there is a valid materialist mind=brain explanation for near death experiences. There would have to be one that explains accurate veridical perception during NDEs, the existence of shared NDEs, and the fact that the overwhelming majority of people who experience NDEs only see deceased relatives (some of which they didn't know were dead before their experience). Like most other materialist explanations for the NDE, sleep paralysis can explain only some features of ndes - not all.
i think that is really hard to have an answer, we know so few about everything, are we sure that the human being was on the earth just 200.000 years ago? and not before? or are we sure that our ancien relatives, like homo habilis, erectus...were less clever than us?
you should read the book of the dead, of buddhism, there you can find a lot of connection with NDE, and it has been written centuries ago..i think that we will never know how will be after...
i have seen your video, i dont know what to say,I think that we should keep the ind open,
think just to our reality,we are done by atoms, bilions of them that are "glued" between them with magnetism,or think about our brain that use just 10% of its potential, but use 30% of all the bodys energy,or think always about the brain how is incredible about our memories and knowledge(to read, to paint, to cook...)that we aren´t able to see where they are, who holds them?in which way?why?
I've been having sleep paralysis since i was fifteen..I've learnt to manipulate my semi dream state to a certain extent so I can have conscious dreams but only for a short time before it just gets too intense.

when ive had SP ive often have out of body experiances where ive floated arounded my house and gone other places. and i have to say they are nothing like a dream. im so concious and so aware even more than when i have a lucid dream. and ive proven it ( to myself atleast) by finding something in my house that i didnt know was there and then validate it when i woke up..
Are you serious? In SP the first reaction is "I'm dying" subconsciously. I would be surprised if the experiences were *not* similar. Get a new professor ;) As to the spiritual, don't discount it too quickly, you're just finding out the majority of spiritual knowledge is BS. Newton saw 2 birds 1 food source. The lesser bird evolved a new beak for a new food, external stimulus. Atheists want us to believe we evolved the brain to see what we do for no reason rather than in response to something external to us LOL
@Nicro327 Many people don't induce it dude. Like me i used to be scared shitless but now its just very annoying, but im learning on how to lucid dream through sleep paralysis! Its awesome
@UgetMe09 What ever, you still can't die from it. You go through it every day, you just don't wake up during it. If you didn't have it, you would have probably broken your neck already from acting out your dreams while asleep. It's healthy, and you will not die from it.
this happens to me every time my dreams have to much detail like my mind starts to add to many things to it then my body shuts down for about 3-4 mins then i have to breathe to get my heart started back up just breathe fast as HELL and your body well come back to but dont stop but as for that ghost and god bs idk

Once I figured out what it was I stopped being scared and the problem went away. But I don't see how you can confuse this with NDE. This was a very negative experience with an evil presence in the room. I've never heard of anyone having a positive experience during sleep paralysis.
Don't be afraid of sleep paralysis, You can't die from one, you'll just be panicked at the fact that you can't move or anything, There IS treatment for this.
While you're dreaming, your body paralyzes the majority of your brain paralyzes the majority of your muscles except your respiratory muscles for obvious reasons. For some people, their body and brain wake up at different times resulting in you being conscious of your surrounding but you're still physically paralyzed because you were in the middle of a dream. Your professor probably projected himself in a dream since he was half away and half asleep.
you have not seen dark shadow beings , felt physical attacks , while awake not just asleep, you have not had every experience so you have no place to judge , wait until your stone cold awake and are visited by beings of light or are thrown down by evil beings, you fools think you know it all and because you have not had but a small amount of experience your qualified to tell everyone else whats going on
Determining the root of your problem actually helps, believe it or not. 'Activating' your pineal gland is useless if you forsake the capacity for critical thinking. Just because you feel an evil presence doesn't mean it's there. The demons are in your head--you don't want to be responsible for your own damage. Your body and mind are trying to tell you something, do not ignore the message.
@rockermongoose no th edemons are not in my head , they were in my home but after the being of light came to me they have not been around in 18 years , and no th ebeing of light was 4 dimentional and real as all hell .
Tryptamine, that's the chemical that gets released in your body during "near death" experiences and during death. It also gets released in small amounts while you are sleeping which is what causes dreams. Sleep paralysis is caused because your body is "out of sync" and at the end of an REM cycle you try and wake up but your brain is basically confused. There are similarities with sleep paralysis and near death experiences because both occur while having tryptamine flowing through your body
i dont purposely sleep on my back anymore. that seemed to stop it for awhile. as for near death experiences . i seen a couple of stories about it on my ghost story like, seeing demonic figures during sleep paralysis, hags, or having out of body experiences . ive never had it that bad . so i couldnt begin to explain but i do know the dreadful feeling of not being able to move at your will . its like your bond and the only thing you can really move are your eyes but barely.. its just utter fear
If you can induce an out of body experience, which it seems you may have a natural ability to do, then you can do your own "research" It may be challenging but I and many others have done it. Once out of your body try to stay lucid and look for verifiable information. You can prove it to yourself. Dr Joe Dispensia Physicist in "What the Bleep do we know?" had a verifiable OBE. Have Fun!
i've had several...always felt better after them, but scary while they happened... white light, relatives, love... i've also had that sleep seizure thingy...couldn't move for 15 minutes once, then i burst out of it, ran downstairs to tell my parents that i nearly died... i was so happy to be alive in my body again, and yet they thought i was being funny or something.. i could have died then, i sometimes wish i had..
A demon would wreck your sh!t, just for seeking God's help. Techniques for dealing with it can be applied regardless of whether it's 'real' or not. first try to listen to what it's saying and if possible, slow it down; I have a feeling you'll understand. Communication is key. Or, the fact that it hasn't killed you means it's powerless to do so. So you can try telling it that you're "sovereign". That's all I've got, so post results, lol.
@TheBestEVER4LIFE Simply CUT OUT YOUR SALT completely for 2 weeks , people persume they are paralised in but in reality thier bodies are asleep ! there spritual eye is open completely and the sub consious mind is alert since they are a sleep ! so seeing dwarf , trolls , alien demons and finding yourself not able to move isnot surprising ! I know this because i used to induce outer body experience by meditation under red light and cheat by having a lot of salt to open my spiritual eye up by force
The out-of-body experiences are an evidence that you can live without your body, in many cases people are really dead for hours or in anesthesia and lose control over their bodies and pop out of it, either you go someplace else or not is another thing but the fact you can survive death is certain.
i have it all the time and ive had it since i was a kid...it happens when im super tired or when i havent gotten enough sleep. ive had some good experiences and some bad like sometimes i see someone in my family trying to wake me up from the sleep paralysis but there really isnt anyone there and sometimes i see shadows or "demons" and its scary but i have learned i can wake myself up if i blink really fast or try to move. everytime i have sleep paralysis it usualy last between a 1-5 minutes
You body shuts down before your mind shuts down for sleep. When you get that urge to toss an turn, it's your mind checking to see if you do it or not. If you turn, you don't fall alseep, if you don't turn or move your leg or whatever than you go to sleep. While you sleep you dream, in these dreams you can be running, fighting, jumping etc.. To make sure your body ONLY does this in the dream and not in real life you body is parylized. If your mind wakes before your body its sleep paralysis.
Alrighty then! Look, SP occurs simply because you woke up during the REM (rapid eye movement) phase of sleep. During the rem phase your brain turns off the signals going to your muscles so that you don't move. We all have woken up in the middle of a dream with no issues. However, sometimes some will wake up (semi-awake at times) but the brain doesn't turn back on the nerve signals to the muscles. At times semi-awake dreams can continue I suppose. I'm never dreaming at this time so I'm guessing
@mkeller38 Our motor functions are apparently only normally turned off during certain phases of our sleep. I have no idea if sleep walking occurs during the REM phase or not.
Sleep paralysis is so not nde.ive had them n its jst that.sumin more like nde wud be acute psychosis.ive had that it u become totaly disconected frm reality.btw al this is drug related :)
Why do some people not want to except the NDE stories of over 13,000,000 million people's deepest experiences in the U.S.?
Its about people not wanting to be held accountable for their actions in life, bottom line.
If we think a subject is authentic or not has a bases in how we want to see the world so we can gain the maxium benifits according to are own beliefs.
People's brains are turned off 10 seconds after their hearts stop, this means no brain activity..think about it.They're not dreaming
I have had sleep paralysis 4 times now. My first experience was two years ago. My friend was driving my car and ran a red light, we were hit by a car going 45 mph. I was on my to St Louis from VA and wrecked in KY. The car still ran so I drove to a near by church parking lot so I could sleep in my car till the morning. As soon as I fell asleep I went into a crazy dream and freaked out. I tried to wake up but when I woke up I was in sleep paralysis. This was the first time I ever experienced it.
Based on my experience I would say that yes NDE's can induce sleep paralysis. However I also believe my severe lack of sleep from partying the night before, then trying to make a 14 hour drive had also contributed to it. I find that I fall into sleep paralysis when I am very tired but force myself to stay awake.
I've been suffering with sleep paralysis for the last couple of years and I think it can be rationally explained without jumping to the conclusion that it must be some kind of spiritual expirence. Either way you are very cute looking =D
I've had reallyy bad sleep paralysis for about 3 years and just woke up with it so I know exactly how it is. Maybe it's along the same lines as deja vu because I have that a lot as well. Idk it's scary though..
Sleep paralysis is a sleeping disorder. Nothing at all to do with NDE. Also, I certainly hope you didn't mention the words"other side" to your professor lmao
@nwalkerm That's basically the equivelant of saying you want to see evidence cats and dogs cannot produce offspring. I'd say the task of providing evidence is yours to fulfill anyway, considering you are attempting to draw a parallel between the two vastly different concepts.
@nwalkerm your hunch is right... a sleep paralysis experience can initiate an out of body experience, which is what sometimes happens during a near-death experience... i know the connection you are trying to make and you are correct in your line of thinking. sleep paralysis is not a disorder.. it happens to millions of normal ppl who would never talk about it for fear of people like the dude above who call it a "disorder" or would dismiss the person as insane.
@nwalkerm Sleep paralysis is simpy your brain not signaling your muscles to move. That's it, that's all. When we operate throughout the day, we forgot how our brain is the controlling unit. During sleep, you basically prematurely wake up and your brain is like "oh oh, sorry, I'll signal your muscles." So, it has nothing to do with supernatural. Just your brain not sending the signal
@Neoklaki Sleep paralysis is NOT a sleeping disorder. Everyone does it every night when they sleep, every day. Do the research and stop spreading false rumors.
it's an interesting theory but my personal experience with SP are not from the outside perspective as you said yours and your professors are. Also I don't think many people claim to have had a near death experience in their sleep
I've had sleep paralysis before, or the old hag it's also called. I find it interesting that I have many of the thoughts and feelings you've shared in your videos and now I find out you've also had sleep paralysis. There was a time right after my first sleep paralysis experience, when I made myself lucid dream at will. Now I can't anymore.
@escapist11 obviously it is not a near death experience. i never said it was. i was saying that maybe there is a correlation between the part of the brain that is effected in both experiences.
@nwalkerm well unless you plan on changing the title, your comeback fails, "Near Death Experiences = Sleep Paralysis" ....adding the = sign means your think that the two are connected :D
@escapist11 For some people, it feels like a near death experience. Not everyone has the same experiences with SP. For some, it feels like you're leaving your body. LIke you're dying.
I have had sleep paralysis and have watched vieos since 6, it is now 10 lol, all I can say is that, when in that state, it feels very real, and i do not have an OBE, luckyly it only happend twice, I'm still shaking from the one that happend this morning, I am very lucky to not have seen the ''entity'' that was inflicting discomfort though I could hear and feel it quite well, each time it happend, i could feel my adrenaline pumping very high as i was in a state of high panic. you are lucky :P
I had a near death experience. Only it was not quite how you describe your4. I saw a light and I was not asleep. I saw this powerful light thru my eyelids. And then feeling something very powerful grab me and fling me down to the ground.HARD!! And what happened next is on my channel. Lol!! This experience changed my thinking. We are not alone in this world. Hope my experience can help you.
well im also an infp, and i study a lot of neuropsychology and theoritical physics. yes, your body goes into sleep paralysis when you sleep. however, you can induce a WILD lucid dream (heard of lucid dreaming?), and you will be conscious of the transition and "feel" your body morph/shift into your dream body. all your senses will "switch" over to your dreamworld and it will feel "real". you will feel your "dreambody" float out of your physical body.. if you want i can explain/link some more info
I've also tried my hand at religion and I've found little evidence of an after-life. There is a huge misconception of "Eternal Life" which is repeatedly mentioned in religious texts. The trick is; it's deliberate. It is called that to deceive unprepared minds. Eternal Life is a way of being after all egoic delusions are lost. Ego Death, is signified by the Baptism, Crucifixion and various other spiritual death motifs. Its a death of selfhood and craving, and of being reborn to a new mentality
@Rybot9000 i really like this idea!! i use to think that death was going to be an unplesent experience but if your ego and since of self are gone or altered in a way that we can not understand in this current state, it makes sense that it would be quite comfortable. your desires are altered therefor the ideas of what suffering is are not the same any more. i think its ppsable for a person to be inlightend if this hear on this earth.
The causality links supernatural to natural making it all natural. Its all really connected by some relation or its not, in which case it doesn't relate. I think the personification of truth is important to reach unsophisticated and weak minds, but its also a major stumbling block. And I think we are seeing the real fruit of that now. A lot of people are caught between this duality, of the purposeless physical world and the illusory supernatural where no one knows how it can work and never will.
It is my view that if one seriously studies causality, one invariably comes to the view that it is as inescapable as thought itself. And thought, or reason, follows the same basic rules as do causal relations. Its as if; one were a window into the other. If causality, or logic, precludes thought, or reason, then surely Reason is the Son of Logic. If we were being poetic, we might grant them personified names and forms. And how could we have purpose without them?
Keep in mind that multiple causes can have the same results. It has been hypothesized that general anaesthetic can cause NDEs. Contrary to popular opinion, the research on NDEs is quite clearly against the claim of tapping into supernatural events. NDErs who claim to have access to information through the experience are wrong under proper testing conditions. Morse, Parnia, Fenwick and Blackmore are often cited, but actually read them with a critical eye. Blackmore has since written on NDEs...
...in her "Consciousness: An Introduction" she clearly states that the evidence for NDEs as supernatural events is negative. Some researchers really just do not have critical looks at their own research. Its a well known phenomena called Experimenter Expectancy (and many other things) and the reason for peer-review and double-blind controls. There are far less romantic and far more technical explanations than are commonly recognized. Its pretty much gonna take advanced neuroscience.
At any rate, the natural v supernatural dichotomy is false IMHO. There is no such thing as the supernatural. There are only appearances and those things unseen. The appearance is physical reality as we perceive it, through whatever measuring equipment we use. However, there are also a priori truths which are not seen per se, not with any of the five senses. They are 'seen' through the sixth sense; reason. These can be anything from causal relations at base, up to psychological facts and wisdom.
I think you are getting close . Both the Egyptian and the tibetan books of the dead talk of aquiring skills fording through the dreamland or lucid dreaming during life so as to better understand death experience. I believe this is why area 51 is called "dreamland" as the aliens have been very succesful in aquiring the skills necessary to harness the dreamland or 4th dimension. During my many lucid dream experiences I have been able to fly very fast and walk very slowly through solid objects..
yea what happend mistafied ? ive also had some crazy shit happen to me too .. everytime it happened to me i had been angry before going to bed for one reason or another ...
NDE's really have nothing to do with sleep paralysis. I highly recommend you look up some of the widely available information on actual NDE's that can be found using your trusty friend, Google. (After all, REM sleep cannot occur when one is clinically dead.)
Plz explain the "black light" that u see. i've had several...always felt better after them, but scary while they happened... white light, relatives, love... i've also had that sleep seizure thingy...couldn't move for 15 minutes once, then i burst out of it, ran downstairs to tell my parents that i nearly died... i was so happy to be alive in my body again, and yet they thought i was being funny or something.. i could have died then, i sometimes wish i had..

during my expirience last night some demon or something was talking to my ear really fast and in another language. can someone help me!!!??
alanyss1 5 months ago
@alanyss1

TheBestEVER4LIFE 5 months ago

While going throgh sleep paralysis, change the breathing pattern an it should wake you just fine within 1-2 minutes.

@thybigballs I am just curious how we explain tossing and turning, talking, and sleep walking if our motor functions are disabled during sleep?
mkeller38 5 months ago
@mkeller38 Our motor functions are apparently only normally turned off during certain phases of our sleep. I have no idea if sleep walking occurs during the REM phase or not.

This was the first time I ever experienced it.
dbafranklin 1 year ago
Based on my experience I would say that yes NDE's can induce sleep paralysis. However I also believe my severe lack of sleep from partying the night before, then trying to make a 14 hour drive had also contributed to it. I find that I fall into sleep paralysis when I am very tired but force myself to stay awake.
dbafranklin 1 year ago
I've been suffering with sleep paralysis for the last couple of years and I think it can be rationally explained without jumping to the conclusion that it must be some kind of spiritual expirence. Either way you are very cute looking =D

Sleep paralysis is a sleeping disorder. Nothing at all to do with NDE. Also, I certainly hope you didn't mention the words"other side" to your professor lmao
Neoklaki 1 year ago 2
@Neoklaki
well i know that much. if there is evidence of there being absolutely no correlation between the two id love to see it.
nwalkerm 1 year ago
@nwalkerm That's basically the equivelant of saying you want to see evidence cats and dogs cannot produce offspring. I'd say the task of providing evidence is yours to fulfill anyway, considering you are attempting to draw a parallel between the two vastly different concepts.
Neoklaki 1 year ago
@Neoklaki exactly
nwalkerm 1 year ago
@nwalkerm: Your answer is not wrong, but far too flat. I think you missed the whole point.
@Neoklaki: Sleep paralysis is used to induce an OBE from the awake-state. People reporting OBE's and NDE's sound pretty much the same.
In an NDE the brain is dead and is therefore not watching the mind.
In sleep paralysis/OBE, the brain thinks that the mind is asleep/not present and therefore not watching/restricting it.
This is pretty easy to comprehend once you get over the old silly dogma mind=brain.
christiancrt 8 months ago
@nwalkerm your hunch is right... a sleep paralysis experience can initiate an out of body experience, which is what sometimes happens during a near-death experience... i know the connection you are trying to make and you are correct in your line of thinking. sleep paralysis is not a disorder.. it happens to millions of normal ppl who would never talk about it for fear of people like the dude above who call it a "disorder" or would dismiss the person as insane.
celerygeneral99 7 months ago
@nwalkerm Sleep paralysis is simpy your brain not signaling your muscles to move. That's it, that's all. When we operate throughout the day, we forgot how our brain is the controlling unit. During sleep, you basically prematurely wake up and your brain is like "oh oh, sorry, I'll signal your muscles." So, it has nothing to do with supernatural. Just your brain not sending the signal
CALICOTV301 5 months ago

I have had sleep paralysis and have watched vieos since 6, it is now 10 lol, all I can say is that, when in that state, it feels very real, and i do not have an OBE, luckyly it only happend twice, I'm still shaking from the one that happend this morning, I am very lucky to not have seen the ''entity'' that was inflicting discomfort though I could hear and feel it quite well, each time it happend, i could feel my adrenaline pumping very high as i was in a state of high panic. you are lucky :P
cedl12345 1 year ago
I had a near death experience. Only it was not quite how you describe your4. I saw a light and I was not asleep. I saw this powerful light thru my eyelids. And then feeling something very powerful grab me and fling me down to the ground.HARD!! And what happened next is on my channel. Lol!! This experience changed my thinking. We are not alone in this world. Hope my experience can help you.
killforce787878 1 year ago
well im also an infp, and i study a lot of neuropsychology and theoritical physics. yes, your body goes into sleep paralysis when you sleep. however, you can induce a WILD lucid dream (heard of lucid dreaming?), and you will be conscious of the transition and "feel" your body morph/shift into your dream body. all your senses will "switch" over to your dreamworld and it will feel "real". you will feel your "dreambody" float out of your physical body.. if you want i can explain/link some more info

Rybot9000 1 year ago
@Rybot9000 i really like this idea!! i use to think that death was going to be an unplesent experience but if your ego and since of self are gone or altered in a way that we can not understand in this current state, it makes sense that it would be quite comfortable. your desires are altered therefor the ideas of what suffering is are not the same any more. i think its ppsable for a person to be inlightend if this hear on this earth.
benjorgensen1 1 year ago
The causality links supernatural to natural making it all natural. Its all really connected by some relation or its not, in which case it doesn't relate. I think the personification of truth is important to reach unsophisticated and weak minds, but its also a major stumbling block. And I think we are seeing the real fruit of that now. A lot of people are caught between this duality, of the purposeless physical world and the illusory supernatural where no one knows how it can work and never will.
Rybot9000 1 year ago
It is my view that if one seriously studies causality, one invariably comes to the view that it is as inescapable as thought itself. And thought, or reason, follows the same basic rules as do causal relations. Its as if; one were a window into the other. If causality, or logic, precludes thought, or reason, then surely Reason is the Son of Logic. If we were being poetic, we might grant them personified names and forms. And how could we have purpose without them?
Rybot9000 1 year ago
Keep in mind that multiple causes can have the same results. It has been hypothesized that general anaesthetic can cause NDEs. Contrary to popular opinion, the research on NDEs is quite clearly against the claim of tapping into supernatural events. NDErs who claim to have access to information through the experience are wrong under proper testing conditions. Morse, Parnia, Fenwick and Blackmore are often cited, but actually read them with a critical eye. Blackmore has since written on NDEs...
Rybot9000 1 year ago
...in her "Consciousness: An Introduction" she clearly states that the evidence for NDEs as supernatural events is negative.
Rybot9000 1 year ago
At any rate, the natural v supernatural dichotomy is false IMHO. There is no such thing as the supernatural. There are only appearances and those things unseen. The appearance is physical reality as we perceive it, through whatever measuring equipment we use. However, there are also a priori truths which are not seen per se, not with any of the five senses. They are 'seen' through the sixth sense; reason. These can be anything from causal relations at base, up to psychological facts and wisdom.
Rybot9000 1 year ago
I think you are getting close . Both the Egyptian and the tibetan books of the dead talk of aquiring skills fording through the dreamland or lucid dreaming during life so as to better understand death experience. I believe this is why area 51 is called "dreamland" as the aliens have been very succesful in aquiring the skills necessary to harness the dreamland or 4th dimension. During my many lucid dream experiences I have been able to fly very fast and walk very slowly through solid objects..

NDE's really have nothing to do with sleep paralysis. I highly recommend you look up some of the widely available information on actual NDE's that can be found using your trusty friend, Google. (After all, REM sleep cannot occur when one is clinically dead.)

ok, poor placing of words. I was referring to the state after REM sleep, re-entering conciousness and hallucinations that occur.
