  • Unless he has outstanding velocity and location, the pros will slam him.

  • i wonder if there is some significance to his number 13

  • The rule created to deal with switch hitters is unfair in that the batter will ALWAYS have the advantage. I think a good change to this would be that the player from the visiting team should declare first, giving the home team the advantage.

  • he pitched for the wisconsin woodchucks where i live too..its fricken amazing

  • i live in n. charleston, SC, and he used to pitch for the charleston riverdogs(the farm team for the yankees) and he amazing to see, i pray he goes to the big leagues

  • is he better with either hand like maybe his fastball is faster right handed and his curveball better left handed or is he that good with both hands

  • hes better with right side from what i read.

  • maybe he can replace mariano once he retires

  • Yankees should bring him up now

  • the rule is he cant throw lefty and righty to the same batter

  • actually he is, the rule is he and the batter can each switch one time during the AB

  • that would be quite fun to face a lefty curveball and then a righty curveball in the same at-bat

  • I don't think you're allowed to change throwing arm mid-atbat. They don't let batters change sides after a pitch has been thrown, so I doubt they'd let him switch throwing arm.

  • ah,,,anybody here know the rule?

  • The rule, created just prior to this game (vs. the Hudson Valley Renegades) because of the debacle earlier at the Brooklyn Cyclones (also on YouTube), is summed up thus:

The pitcher must declare visibly to the ump which arm he will throw with.

The batter then can declare which side he wants to hit from.

Neither may switch during the at-bat.

  • hmm, that's lame

  • no the pitcher chooses first and forces the batter to hit from the opposite side

  • Yeah if he starts...say... left he continues throughout the whole at-bat, and if there is a pitch hitter he can switch...

  • They created the Venditte Rule after his first outing at Staten Island. There he delayed the game for ten minutes by switching back and forth as the switch hitter did the same. The rule states that the pitcher must first declare which arm he will start the batter with. Then he can elect to switch to the other arm during this at bat. He must now remain with this arm until the next batter. The batter also can switch one time during the at bat if he happens to be a switch hitter.

  • He doesn't throw a curve lefty.... :-(

He does have a nasty slidepiece, though.

  • I'm not knocking him or anything, he does look like a good pitcher, but lets not get too far ahead of ourselves and remember that this is only A ball.

  • only a ball but its still professional ball how many people make it there

  • His stint in A-ball was in the NY-Penn League - the top of the line for fresh pro prospects.

    And he decimated hitters there.

He converted every single save chance and was second in the league (among pitchers) in games played. Not bad.

This year, follow him as he'll advance from Charleston to Tampa. Enjoy.

Oh, and he throws 85-88 as a LHP with a fastball, change and slider.

He throws 92-96 as a RHP with fastball, change and curve.

  • yaaa i bet u'll do really good this season for the yankees
