@DeferredSuccess The Troopers needed to consolidate their ambush and take advantage of the surprise attack. Remember, they're up against the Sith and really need to make as much as they can out of the initial shock factor. A full scale rush into the enemy lines forces them into a defensive and, whilst it clearly didn't work out well in the end, it most likely meant that they were able to make a definitive impact and stood as their best chance against a more sophisticated enemy.

@TheEldarstar Yes but the troopers biggest threat was from a mainly melee opposition, and while the sith can close that distance in a short time why give up the high ground? Not to mention the troopers numbers are implied to be less than that of the sith force, so why reveal that to them. A guerrilla like hit and retreat tactic would have worked far better in this scenario, also they didn't have any explosives pre-placed in the kill zone. No wonder the republic is losing -_-

I thought it was pretty much accepted Jedi/Sith in the old days were just plain more badass. I mean, just look at Revan.

As far as stopping light saber, it's a rare form of force energy absorption (if you're into EU, Corran Horn and the entire Halycon line of Jedi has this ability, and it basically absorbed any form of energy, like blaster bolts or lightsaber), which also lets you convert the absorbed energy for something else, like telekinesis, or I guess in this case, a hadoken.

@XI0L0N In Yoda's day they barely knew what sith were, but back in the Old Republic they had had sith wars for years so the Jedi (And the sith) were more powerful back then. Besides Vader even when half machine could stop blaster bolts easy. I think when, compared with force users across the whole of of the Star Wars Universe, Master Yoda is somewhat overrated.

An element which will add alot of immersion, when people say the graphics suck i dont think they realize that when it comes too it they will probally be quite decent, you cant have ultra realistic for this type of game, would alienate alot of the people who would want to play as they couldnt run it. The art style is nice and will only enhance the exerperience.

When I think 'Star Wars', the first thing that comes to mind is nerds arguing over some random lore as if it were real historical facts. Bioware is great.
