If the British Airways a318 can cross the Atlantic from JFK - LCY, then the a320s should be physically capable. Whether or not they do it commerically is another issue
There were quite some vintage landings, weren't there? And the A330 and the T7 went pretty hard on the brakes to get the intersection, didn't they? :)
Very cool airport to spot, nice variety of birds there! Keep it up!
@Darknamja Post-production winglets have also been installed on many 727's as a means of noise reduction as part of so called "Quiet Wing" Kits and for added fuel economy.
Martinique Aimé Césaire International Airport (French: Aéroport International Martinique Aimé Césaire) (IATA: FDF, ICAO: TFFF) is the international airport of Martinique in the French West Indies. Located in Le Lamentin, a suburb of the capital Fort-de-France, it was opened in 1950 and renamed in 2007 after author and politician Aimé Césaire.
THIS VIDEO IS GREAT!!! SOME SERIOUSLY SWEET LANDINGS CAPTURED IN THIS FOOTAGE... especially when I was expecting (because of the title) things to possibly be a little dicey.
You stated you were in control tower, do you work there , as in the States that would be "strenglich Vereboten"! Or did your friend work there, Or is Martinique more relaxed abou plainspotters visiting the CT?
A very nice video here. Well, it just goes to show that this is why aircraft are named "all-weather" machines. It's neat to see them operate in these adverse conditions.
Nice vid thanks! I thought the first embraer floated it too much, especially on a runway that look more contaminated than wet. Great seeing the 727 with winglets and the visible reverse thrust spray... shows why ur supposed to turn it off below a certain speed as i could see the spray getting closer to the front of the engines as the aircraft - particularly the 777s - slowed down. Very cool!

Airbus A320, A321 and A319, including the corporate jet version, are approved for 180 minute extended range twin-engine operations (ETOPS). The approval was granted by the Federal Aviation Administration after European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) had granted the same approval in March 2004.
