You couldn't be more wrong. Her voice may not be anything spectacular, but I've rarely heard such emotion and struggle unleashed by a female singer. That is what sells. It's a good voice coupled with real emotion. Winning combination.

I love this girl. I was quietly listening with my head phones on being very good by not humming or singing sitting waiting for my doctors appt. When it was my turn I took my headphones off and thou and behold the entire office had been listening since the headphones weren't completely plugged in. Everyone said how they liked her so I took a bow for her and went on my way.

I too heard this on Prairie Home Companion and was just blown away. Can't remember the last time I've been so moved by the passion in a singer's voice... brought tears to my eyes on the first listen.

Sorry Liz,51233 I CAN'T see Kelly Clarkson doing this song. This is not her style at all! Especially when Brandi does that almost yodel thing that is so awesome. I love this girl. I was quietly listening with my head phones on being very good by not humming or singing sitting waiting for my doctors appt. When it was my turn I took my headphones off and thou and behold the entire office had been listening since the headphones weren't completely plugged in. Everyone said how they liked her so I took a bow for her and went on my way.

Count me as one of those folks who heard the song on Praire Home Companion too and really dug it. I'd heard the song before, but that particular rendition really knocked my socks off. It's one of the few times in 25+ years of listening to the radio where I've pretty much wanted to stop whatever it was I was doing and just plain listen to the radio. Great song; great vocalist.
