@DaxNakal96 yes, you can try all different types of carbonated sodas. Some work better than others. Regular Coca Cola will work, but it will not go as high as Diet Coke. Try them both together and test and record your results.

When the Mentos hit the soda, bubbles rapidly form all over the surface of it. When all this carbon dioxide gas is released very quickly, it pushes all of the liquid up and out of the bottle incredibly fast to cause the eruption you see in the video.
