@DaxNakal96 yes, you can try all different types of carbonated sodas. Some work better than others. Regular Coca Cola will work, but it will not go as high as Diet Coke. Try them both together and test and record your results.

Why do the mentos do that to the soda?

@mitchel4121963 The thing that makes soda bubble is invisible carbon dioxide gas, which is put into bottles at the soda factory using a lot of pressure. When the Mentos hit the soda, bubbles rapidly form all over the surface of it. When all this carbon dioxide gas is released very quickly, it pushes all of the liquid up and out of the bottle incredibly fast to cause the eruption you see in the video.
