@mushroomonthemoon You know what, a lot of "professionals" aren't even professionals at all and some are actually real frauds. For example, today at work during my shift I was reading a magazine article about how this woman became a victim of a woman who used to be her friend but was pretending to be an official medical doctor and has made up lies about how she's been studying at uni to get a degree as a doctor. This victim was also taken advantaged of by this woman in an embarassing way.
@MrGazmcfaz I hate that word disorder and I think that I'm not disordered it's other people I deal with are disordered in the way they behave/deal with me.
Kill the aspies! Drive them to the oceans, and drown their young! Tie up their hands and feet, set fire to their faces, and let them slowly sink in quicksand! Impale them on fallen branches tipped with obsidian! Smash their hands and feet, then lock them in a cage full of hungry, angry pigs! Create a huge beef grinder, then feed them through, slowly, feet-first! Shove thermite up their asses! Grease them up, and shove them down the throats of whales! Skin them alive then kill 'em all with fire!
its not an illness my brain does 2 things at ocne i can sing a clasical piece of music and read and hear two sets of words at the same time, at 10 i did photography.geology.archeology.restoring old radios, i could not think as slow as you so called experts if i tried.i learn things years later the experts say what they just found well i knew about our brains working on the vlf frequencey before them.they say we have all different brain interacions and frequenceys may be the key.oh, obvious jeff
@PunkStar6661 I think that depends on the individual. Some people find little point in getting an official "label" for AS, and others, like me, just feel it's something they need to do to make sense of everything they've been through (and for me personally it's also handy if I get confused at a bank or if I ever need to communicate with police, etc). It's such a deeply individual experience. I'd suggest reading one of Tony Attwood's books, or Temple Grandin, to get a better understanding of AS.
Well for one she seems to think people with Asperger's are complete idiots for one. "If you tell someone with Asperger's to "Get lost" they may try to "get lost".
No - her point there was that it is a symptom of Asperger's that a person may interpret things literally. Granted, she probably did use an extreme example.
A condition can be many things, one of which is a disease, but a disease itself is a specific group of things that Aspergers does not fall into, as she explains. However, contradicting herself like that is amusing.
@austin6229 I don't know why you say it isn't a condition. A condition is simply an illness, disease, or other medical, mental, physical or otherwise state. For example "She is in good condition for tomorrow's marathon," or, "His heart condition is getting worse."
Note that I'm not saying it is a disease as condition covers many possibilities aside from that.
Right, it isn't a disease and it is a condition, that's what I was saying.
Sorry for the double postage sort of thing, my YouTube mail stuffing up and the way I see comments confuddled me into thinking "@mbncd isnt it a condition lmao" was a new comment response...
A NOTE TO EVERYONE WHO BOTHERS TO WATCH THIS FOR DIAGNOSTIC REASONS: Don't take anything this woman says literally! How little she knows about aspergers is shown by the fact that she can't pronounce it and classifies it as a 'disease'. Go watch a few videos by people who have it, instead. All aspergers is different - there are many spectrums. Don't take the word of a doctor or psychiatrist on it because it's one of the most mis-understood things!
Umm who says people with aspergers can't go on dates with girls and go to college? It's not an illness, it's a condition. An illness is something you become very ILL from.
That is a rather interesting and different idea of 'disease' than the one in my mind. You can't catch arthritis. You can't cure AIDs. You can't catch diabetes or cure it. I'd call those all diseases.
dr. smiley has smiley syndrome , ss, and also the eat too much and not excercise enuf syndrome, which requires some years of richard simmons and susan powders to correct, a life time commitment really
This lady isn't that educated really, cognitive behavioral therapy doesn't work for me because it's teaching emotion, something I'll never really learn and it is pronounced As-per-gers not ass-burgers.
It annoys me when they pronounce it Aspberger's. It's As-per-jer's. I can understand a little bit of it because I usually get very anxious when I am off a routine.
Actually it is asp-ber-Gers. The man who discovered it was Austrian. I am Austrian and I also have aspergers - Asperger is a common Austrian name and it's pronounced with the G sound not J.
Hello, I am engaged to an Aspie. For the most part our relationship has been great, I love him very much. But right now i'm on the verge of tears b/c a problem has come up regarding his unemployment. I'm pretty sure that the economy contributes, but I think his interpersonal skills do too. if i get too "critical' he gets upset. i need help in how to be supportive with him. if anyone else with asperger's could get back to me i'd appreciate it. thanks so much.
Because i've read the wiki about it, and my girlfriend's sister has been diagnosed PDD-NOS, and she had trouble with sarcasm or things that are taken literally like the 'get lost' thing. While on the other hand i'm not officially diagnosed with asperger but i dont feel associated with those referrals.
I hate it when people say that people with Asperger's have poor communication skills. A person with Asperger's doesn't take sayings literally. I have Asperger's and if someone told me to 'get lost', I don't 'get lost'. I also know that frowning would normally mean someone is annoyed or angry. I don't think she really understands Asperger's at all. There is no one form of communication. Asperger's communicate in their own way. I find that others tend to be intolerable to us instead.
Yeah exactly, nor do I take things that literally! There's all different spectrums not only of Autism but also Aspergers. Sounds like you and I are pretty 'high functioning'... the people who take things literally are much more severe cases, though I've got to say I've never met a person with aspergers who takes things THAT literally. I agree with everything you said - Aspergers do communicate in their own way.
@hhhiitt I agree. She's talking bullshit. But say, I don't understand what shy is. My sister tried to explain what it is but I simply don't get it. I think it's being embarrassed but that's another emotion. I do get confused.
@hhhiitt You have to be pretty far onto the spectrum to be quite that literal! I tend to agree with you even though there are some cases where she's accurate. My son doesn't fit any of her profiles, but he has LOTS of other symptoms! He grunts a lot and try getting homework done without monitoring him daily!!!! Threw 45 min tantrums till he was 8 or 9. But has a fantastic sense of humor and does not 'monologue' to people at all. Just look at the list of behaviors and pick yours off the list
@hhhiitt I don't think she was trying to imply that all people with asperger's do those thing. I think she was giving examples of what someone MIGHT do. I'm not an expert, but it seems to me that aspergers effects people in different ways.
"A person with Asperger's doesn't take sayings literally."
As true as most of us are above taking up all those bad "advises", don't you agree that there's often here the key to understanding how we are more vulnerable lays. Although I mostly do understand what's literal, I actually often feel people are behaving/talking harder/ruder then necessary.
Tried to work with this for many years myself, but never quite getting there. Others are intolerable, sure, and it's important not to suffer more then you have to as a result of that !
If you get by, you're brilliant at what you do, and respected, what do you need a diagnose for ? If you suffer from what you see as rudeness, and are not understood for your suffering, and there often is no problem to see for others, then maybe you do need one.
I, for instance, can sometimes not stop wagging at certain passes or crosses. Not to say there's nothing going on in my mind, and that I won't reach a solution or decision. But if others insist on holding on to defining me as stupid...
I'm 19 i got diagnosed with aspergers when i was four and now its really mild its almost like im a regular person i've been on dates with girls and i go to college.. i like this video it doesn't make it seem like aspergers is some terrible illness the woman who talks is very tolerant and informed and the guy below me is just being a jerk and that dress is fashionable because australians have a different culture sense than us
I know, there's a difference between doing whatever someone tells you and taking things litterally, an idiom would be a better example, like 'you can't have cake and eat it too' that one might make sense
@moyga: yes, agreed. it varies so much and most people have very little understanding of aspergers whatsoever and think they're real experts on it. I wouldn't speak to anyone about it unless they either have it, know what it's like to live with someone who has it, or have studied it their whole life because it's so complex.
I'm an Aussie lady with Aspergers. I came across a good article from an American Aspergers lady and she describes exactly the misunderstanding, discrimination and rudeness we sometimes get from others. I know people have thought I was rude, self centred and stupid when I've tried hard not to be. It's very annoying.
and 50 years ago they didnt even know what aspergers was, its only recent so i dont know exactly how you can say ALL your ancestors had it. 95% mercury poisoning, 5% naturally occuring autism (possibly genetic) but certainly rare naturally occuring. its funny how they found only 3 armish had autism, 2 where adopted (and vaccinated) and the other lived near a mercury producing power plant. i believe the genetic thing is a gov scam to cover up the real reason for the epidemic.
Because they had all the traits. No mercury poisoning..that has not been proven. Spider believe what you want. My medical records and that of my mother, uncle, aunts totally disagree with your statements. Yes many o fus are old aspies... doctors never diagnosed us especially women. I guess our existance is proof your concept (not theory) is incorrect... I am 56.. no vaccine till 6 and I had aspergers all my life. I have 2 female friends who are the same.. so is Temple Grandin who is 61
aspergers was DISCOVERED 50 years ago (and wasn't public knowledge til 15 years ago), 500 years ago people didn't know what lightning, or microbes were either
the vids ok, but im pretty sure it aint 'something your born with' its most likely mercury poisoning from vaccines, but now because so many people have tons of mercury in them already it could well be 'that your born with it' but its not genetic. (the genetic link they talk about is the genetic inability to get rid of mercury, the condition itself is not genetic)
i don't think its a mistake to be asp at all. I think they are the future as they and we look at things more logically and don't let emotions cloud our judgment.people always knock what they don't understand..I want to know as much about this as possible ..
@SweetoothNoob say that again were know more than the so called experts about a lot of things.they learn from secondhand knowledge from books.we learn by what we see here and feel.and wee dont need pretend experts who just know long words
so they appere to be cleaver by words alone...................jeff
My one aspie friend's father is a doctor and he is an undiagnosed aspie... It was not heard of because they did not look for it in children especially women until 93 in the USA.. Most women and older people are undiagnosed...it was sink or swim back then and we learned to mimmick NTs.
We are born with it. I guess you have to take the mercury elsewhere.. YOu can't hide us..we are factually born with it.. so are many of my family and friends.
TO 10 DOWNING STREET ABOUT ASPERGERS. THIS WOMAN IS THE ONE THAT LOOKS AT THINGS LITTERALY, WHICH BY THE WAY I DO NOT!!! AND DISEASE? YH IM GLAD YOU CORRECTED YOURSELF THERE!!!
OK YOU GUYS WANNA WATCH CRAPPY VIDS ABOUT ASPERGERS SYNDROME?
WELL WHY DONT YOU LEAVE A COMMENT AND ASK ME ABOUT IT HMM?
MOST ASPERGOUS PEOPLE ARE NOT LIKE THIS, I FOR ONE HAVE ASPERGOUS SYNDROME AND I LACK NO COMUNICATION SKILLS, NOR ANY OTHER DIFFICULTIES, SO WTF IS THERE TO CURE. INSTEAD I HAVE A VERY SMART BRAIN AND STRONG BELIEFS AND OPPINIONS.
I HAD THE BEST DOCTOR IN THE UK TALK TO ME ABOUT MY ASPERGERS, AND THIS WOMAN BLOWS EVERYTHING OUT HER ARSE AND I FIND THIS DISCRIMINATING!!! BEING PUT INTO THIS GROUP OF WIERDOS. I HAVE BEEN ON THE NEWS AND HAVE GONE
IF anyone looks at autimoms account..filled with attacks... it is one of her several accounts. She uses it to attack people. Look at her profile. We caught her several times using the autimom account for that very purpose. We know who she is. She and her children have problems and mostly due to her part and behavior.
Yetti0, You have caused me to remove all postitive comments from my channel.....due to the fact u believe u have a right to leave comments about me on the channels of people that leave ++ comments for me.
They have nothing to do with u & don't wish them to be bothered by the likes of you!!!
I wonder if autimom will have her "potty Mouth" post removed. ;) she stated "Yeah Yetti0....who's the sad old grey haired c%#t who will block users from their channel.....What afraid of intelligent debate. U say u raised A child to adulthood.....2 scared to let ur genes create another sad excuse...DON'T let ur anger of what ur parents NEVER did for U, jade others from letting their childern shine!!!! " So much for her intelligent debate. I feel sorry for her child. Parenting is at a crisis level
I feel im just an average Joe, I cant believe people are just so hostile to one another over this.. Yetti0 let it go!! I Have a 16 yr old who has a very high IQ and seems to learn at a incredible speed and is so very logical but has no time for Morals..Im trying very hard to understand how we could ever live without morals but my son thinks logic is the way to go.
Yeah Yetti0....who's the sad old grey haired c%#t who will block users from their channel.....What afraid of intelligent debate. U say u raised A child to adulthood.....2 scared to let ur genes create another sad excuse...DON'T let ur anger of what ur parents NEVER did for U, jade others from letting their childern shine!!!!!
I only block people who use foul language. Do you teach your son to use such language. Now you attack the fact ~ I could only physically have one child. That is another example of bullyism. You have a problem with one child families? DOes having 10 children make you a better parent. You are obviously angry hence you are bringing it up. I hope this is not the example you set your son. Its not because he is austistic but you lack parenting skills. Do you teach him to make fun of senior citizens?
autimum "sad old grey haired c%#t" This is the example this mother is setting for her autstic child. She calls it her form of intelligent debate. She should be educating herself while her son is in school and not using foul language on the internet. As I stated we have a parenting crisis today. Children have heart conditions due to overeating, parents who use fould language and call that intelligent. More tea?
autimum states : "Attack u??? I'm not the one going around saying anything about you......Yeah Yetti0....who's the sad old grey haired c%#t...let ur genes create another sad excuse" Interesting mother and household. Can we quote you Autimum? Is your tea getting cold?
Aspergers is NOT a disease.. its not a condition. Aspergers is a different operating system. NTs are like PCs and Aspies are like Apple/Mac... and NTs need to learn to come half way...They are not exactly Normal...they cant survive without social cues. to me that is a handicap. God help you if you don't have eyes to look into, you can't count on your brain.

I have a 9 year old son that was diagnosed 2 years ago with adhd and aspergers,it's changed my life completely. He's in his second school and still not getting the help he needs. The children tease him and the instructors put him down. They claim to be professionals but it seems they've no clue when it comes to teaching children with this wonder gift.Dealing with these idiots gives me a headache almost everyday, how can I get them to educate themselves to bring out the best in these kids?
NT Syndrome affects a lot less. Surely there is a cure for NT Syndrome and their comorbids. The rate of acknowledgement of aspergers is growing because society is just now learning to identify aspie. Women and girls are major underdiagnosed. If we can help NTs to be more intelligent, more honest, more ethical, less bullyism, less violent..the world would be a better place. Lets look for a cure.. I would say 700 / 1000 children have NT Syndrome. Worthy of being cured and saved
Yetti0...how dare you go around & attack someone when all they have done is question ur opinion!
As the mum of an A.S.D child I have NEVER tried 2 cure my son or even make him asimulate
ALL I have tried 2 do is reduce his confusion.
Please don't be bitter because socity was'nt aware...my brother is half ur age & still slipped through the cracks...diagnosed hyperactive in 1979, but it was'nt til i told her(in2003) of autistic traits that she was able 2 realise my brother ticked all the boxes!!
In my comment 2 Yetti0 ...when I said her & she I ment my mum......& it certainly was'nt her fault that she accepted that diagnosis. It was'nt so long ago that doctors knew everything & we knew better than 2 question it!!!!
Make up your mind what you mean.. No wonder your son is confused and took so long to be mainstreamed. It comes from the home. You obviously don't listen to ANYONE not even a 57 yr old aspie who was raised by a now 87 yr old aspie.
Sure it was her fault...Anyone who would not use common sense and not become educated on their child... is a faulty parent. Take responsibility You and your mom.
how dare you go around and attack me! what is your excuse NT? Just because you're an NT mum of an aspie doesn't give you the right to try 2 bully an aspie a mum herself who did a great job of raising a child to adulthood. Learn to take advice from those of us who walk the talk. We are in a major parenting crisis today and you are a prime example..Get an education and stop your uppity attitude. I am an aspie. I dare to question society! Reduce his confusion? You probably created his confusion.
Attack u??? I'm not the one going around saying anything about you. My son has Autism....ie. someone, with the right guidence, can allow themselves to think about things differently.PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE think before u allow urself 2 comment on anyones utube vid or comment.because ur opinion is very one sided.....& there may even be those on the spectrum that don't agree with u.When was WAR declared between the A.S.D's & the NT's. U say talk the talk, what is the universal lanuage of A.S.D
Sure you attacked me. You can't see your own actions? Why is it NTs require aspies looking at their eyes when they are often blind in many ways? If you don't know how to communicate perhaps you need to take some theatre courses to learn inter and intrapersonal skills of communication. It can only help your parenting skills.
My parenting skills....Hahaha I am the one that injects myself into my son world...& tries to extract him into ours. Our son would love it to be all about him, all the time!
NT's compromise all the time..we never get it our way all the time!! But clearly that is'nt the case in my son's life or any other A.S.D I've encountered.I have a brother, a Husband & a Son on the spectum...so ur interpretaion of A.S.D is not validated, it is merely ur opinion!!
Autimum states "My parenting skills....Hahaha I am the one that injects myself into my son world" I think we all see what you are injecting into his world. Most of us do not use such foul language as a matter of intellectual discourse. IF I were your son.. I, too, would hesitate to be extracted into a world where a mother would use words like " the sad old grey haired c%#t". If you have not had English 101... anything anyone states is an opinion. Like your mere opinion.
Now Darl, did I actually use foul language or is that just your perception? Whilst it is my opinion of you, I don't think it falls into the category of swearing.
But anyway thanks for quoting me......It is the statements of those who are truly great that are repeated. LOL.
"If you said to someone with AS; "Oh, get lost", they might literally try and go and get lost"
That is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard. I have AS. I've been told to "Get lost" a few times. Never have I actually tried to get myself lost. What a ridiculous statement.
It seems as though she's just repeating things she's read from textbooks. She reminds me a lot of the first doctor I went to about my AS, who just tried to send me for hearing tests (?!) when I mentioned my symptoms.
That's correct, but I don't know many Aspies who would take "get lost" THAT literally. I have frequent problems with language and take things literally often, so I understand what she's TRYING to say, but her example was far too extreme, imo.
I'm not so sure about that. Our 9yo son is quite high functioning.....he's made it to mainsream school after years of special education (YAY!) however he has always been very literal.
Despite all the work for eg. he now knows that I'm only joking with him when i say I'm pulling your leg!
So I really didn't expect the "meltdown" when I absent mindedly said that if I spent any more money dad would bite my head off.....Because he really thought dad was going to bite my head off. so IMO some can
my previous comment was in reply to Anniemaniac17.....& is only trying to convay that some people on the Autism spectrum can indeed take comments quite literally.
I am an aspie and I went through main stream school from the first day. How did my mom do it? You should learn from older successful aspies. Been there done that for generations.
Not only was I mainstreamed at 6.we had no preschool or kindergarten.I was triple promoted in math at the end of the first year. Two of my best friends I have known life long are successful Aspie women and mothers of aspies themselves. It stands to reason aspie women tend to be friends, & we had no idea we were aspies till our 50s. All our children (aspie or aspie lite) are very successful. Like our aspie parents,We took our parenting seriously and found schools that worked iwth our children.
I just think her example was too extreme and not really that accurate. Maybe "confused" might have been a better way for her to describe how we would react to someone telling us to get lost. Not all of us will "get lost" if someone tells us to. I doubt many would. Your son may be different but the aspies I know wouldn't take it so literally, so I just think it was a bad example to use.
"part of the Autism collection of diseases" - thanks very much miss resident GP now people will think they will catch it , as if Autism isnt misunderstood enough you go and add more fuel to the fire !
Kind of strange. She says it's a disease, the presenter then says it isn't a disease to which the Gp then agrees. :/ And the idea that people with Asperger's take something like "get lost" that literally is inaccurate. Having trouble with social interaction does not mean you don't understand English.
I've never heard of anybody with Asperger's taking things like "get lost" literally. People with Asperger's usually have higher than normal IQ and, if anything, are less likely to misinterpret things.
I wouldn't consider her a specialist on Asperberger's Syndrome. That's putting it mildly. This is NOT a completely accurate representation of Asperger's Syndrome.
this women is in no way an expert thats for sure. you dont have to have all aspects of the condition to have it, for instance not all aspyies take everything litterally, not all autistc children flap, some may look totally normal and you wouldnt even know until you talk to them, and anyway its not a disease its most likely mercury poisoning if you look at all the science.
We are aware... my one friend flaps ..she is a scientist... I hum..:) we are all individuals..we are not robots ..justlike NTs are all different , with different comorbids if they have them at all. Nope No mercury poisoning... that is fact.
They made it perfectly clear in the segment that Asperger's is not a disease and the doctor cleared up this misconception. I don't know what you're complaining about.
The point is that in the beginning she said it was part of the "autism spectrum of diseases". So she contradicted her self. But yea, autism isn't a disease.
to say aspergers is a disease is like saying someone who is Chinese and speaks Chinese has a disease. Aspies and Auties just have a different language.
The doctor disagreed with her own statement. That just makes things confusing, not clear. At the beginning she did call AS a disease. It was the presenter, who apparently knew more than she did, that corrected her, albeit in a subtle way.

Pathetic.

No - her point there was that it is a symptom of Asperger's that a person may interpret things literally. Granted, she probably did use an extreme example.

@mbncd isnt it a condition lmao
austin6229 2 years ago
A condition can be many things, one of which is a disease, but a disease itself is a specific group of things that Aspergers does not fall into, as she explains. However, contradicting herself like that is amusing.
mbncd 2 years ago
@austin6229 I don't know why you say it isn't a condition. A condition is simply an illness, disease, or other medical, mental, physical or otherwise state. For example "She is in good condition for tomorrow's marathon," or, "His heart condition is getting worse."
Note that I'm not saying it is a disease as condition covers many possibilities aside from that.

Don't take the word of a doctor or psychiatrist on it because it's one of the most mis-understood things!
dizzymisslizzylane 2 years ago 6
@Thanos700
Umm who says people with aspergers can't go on dates with girls and go to college? It's not an illness, it's a condition. An illness is something you become very ILL from.
Don't knock Aussies, not cool.
dizzymisslizzylane 2 years ago
'disease: something you can catch and cure.'
That is a rather interesting and different idea of 'disease' than the one in my mind. You can't catch arthritis. You can't cure AIDs. You can't catch diabetes or cure it. I'd call those all diseases.

I'm pretty sure that the economy contributes, but I think his interpersonal skills do too. if i get too "critical' he gets upset. i need help in how to be supportive with him. if anyone else with asperger's could get back to me i'd appreciate it. thanks so much.

I think what she is describing about the 'get lost' thing, is an aspect of PDD-NOS if im not mistaken.
PlatiumGauntlet 2 years ago
why do you say that?
thebenchwarmer 2 years ago
Because i've read the wiki about it, and my girlfriend's sister has been diagnosed PDD-NOS, and she had trouble with sarcasm or things that are taken literally like the 'get lost' thing. While on the other hand i'm not officially diagnosed with asperger but i dont feel associated with those referrals.
Hope that clarifies.

I find that others tend to be intolerable to us instead.
hhhiitt 2 years ago 39
Yeah exactly, nor do I take things that literally! There's all different spectrums not only of Autism but also Aspergers. Sounds like you and I are pretty 'high functioning'... the people who take things literally are much more severe cases, though I've got to say I've never met a person with aspergers who takes things THAT literally. I agree with everything you said - Aspergers do communicate in their own way.
dizzymisslizzylane 2 years ago
@hhhiitt I agree. She's talking bullshit. But say, I don't understand what shy is. My sister tried to explain what it is but I simply don't get it. I think it's being embarrassed but that's another emotion. I do get confused.
9ORGAZMO6 1 year ago
@hhhiitt You have to be pretty far onto the spectrum to be quite that literal! I tend to agree with you even though there are some cases where she's accurate. My son doesn't fit any of her profiles, but he has LOTS of other symptoms! He grunts a lot and try getting homework done without monitoring him daily!!!! Threw 45 min tantrums till he was 8 or 9. But has a fantastic sense of humor and does not 'monologue' to people at all. Just look at the list of behaviors and pick yours off the list
AspergerDad 1 year ago
@hhhiitt I don't think she was trying to imply that all people with asperger's do those thing. I think she was giving examples of what someone MIGHT do. I'm not an expert, but it seems to me that aspergers effects people in different ways.
thejesman 1 year ago
"A person with Asperger's doesn't take sayings literally."
As true as most of us are above taking up all those bad "advises", don't you agree that there's often here the key to understanding how we are more vulnerable lays. Although I mostly do understand what's literal, I actually often feel people are behaving/talking harder/ruder then necessary.
DHKEWQIUE5642ddbd 1 year ago
Tried to work with this for many years myself, but never quite getting there. Others are intolerable, sure, and it's important not to suffer more then you have to as a result of that !
DHKEWQIUE5642ddbd 1 year ago
If you get by, you're brilliant at what you do, and respected, what do you need a diagnose for ? If you suffer from what you see as rudeness, and are not understood for your suffering, and there often is no problem to see for others, then maybe you do need one.
I, for instance, can sometimes not stop wagging at certain passes or crosses. Not to say there's nothing going on in my mind, and that I won't reach a solution or decision. But if others insist on holding on to defining me as stupid...

I don't like it when people pronounce it as "asperjjjjers", like the g in "manger" or "surge".

and 50 years ago they didnt even know what aspergers was, its only recent so i dont know exactly how you can say ALL your ancestors had it. 95% mercury poisoning, 5% naturally occuring autism (possibly genetic) but certainly rare naturally occuring. its funny how they found only 3 armish had autism, 2 where adopted (and vaccinated) and the other lived near a mercury producing power plant. i believe the genetic thing is a gov scam to cover up the real reason for the epidemic.
spider500a 3 years ago
Because they had all the traits. No mercury poisoning..that has not been proven. Spider believe what you want. My medical records and that of my mother, uncle, aunts totally disagree with your statements. Yes many o fus are old aspies... doctors never diagnosed us especially women. I guess our existance is proof your concept (not theory) is incorrect... I am 56.. no vaccine till 6 and I had aspergers all my life. the vids ok, but im pretty sure it aint 'something your born with' its most likely mercury poisoning from vaccines, but now because so many people have tons of mercury in them already it could well be 'that your born with it' but its not genetic.
Yetti0 3 years ago
lets go down the list:
You want to use foul language.
You think a person who has one child does so because of choice only.
you feel having one child is wrong.
You call people who are over 50 hostile names.
If they don't accept your hostility, you claim they are not debating intelligently.
Is this the example you set as a parent?
Your parenting challenges are showing. Learn to not use foul language. It will help you and your son.
Yetti0 3 years ago
autimum "sad old grey haired c%#t" This is the example this mother is setting for her autstic child. She calls it her form of intelligent debate. She should be educating herself while her son is in school and not using foul language on the internet. As I stated we have a parenting crisis today. Children have heart conditions due to overeating, parents who use fould language and call that intelligent. More tea?

Please don't be bitter because socity was'nt aware...my brother is half ur age & still slipped through the cracks...diagnosed hyperactive in 1979, but it was'nt til i told her(in2003) of autistic traits that she was able 2 realise my brother ticked all the boxes!!

I dare to question society! Reduce his confusion? You probably created his confusion.

U say talk the talk, what is the universal lanuage of A.S.D
autimum 3 years ago
Sure you attacked me. You can't see your own actions? Why is it NTs require aspies looking at their eyes when they are often blind in many ways? If you don't know how to communicate perhaps you need to take some theatre courses to learn inter and intrapersonal skills of communication. It can only help your parenting skills.
Yetti0 3 years ago
My parenting skills....Hahaha I am the one that injects myself into my son world...& tries to extract him into ours. Our son would love it to be all about him, all the time!
NT's compromise all the time..we never get it our way all the time!! But clearly that is'nt the case in my son's life or any other A.S.D I've encountered.I have a brother, a Husband & a Son on the spectum...so ur interpretaion of A.S.D is not validated, it is merely ur opinion!!
autimum 3 years ago
Autimum states "My parenting skills....Hahaha I am the one that injects myself into my son world" I think we all see what you are injecting into his world. Most of us do not use such foul language as a matter of intellectual discourse. IF I were your son.. I, too, would hesitate to be extracted into a world where a mother would use words like " the sad old grey haired c%#t". If you have not had English 101... anything anyone states is an opinion. Like your mere opinion.

Anniemaniac17 3 years ago 3
People with AS tend to not understand Irony and Sarcasm.
Hjernespreng 3 years ago
That's correct, but I don't know many Aspies who would take "get lost" THAT literally. I have frequent problems with language and take things literally often, so I understand what she's TRYING to say, but her example was far too extreme, imo.
Anniemaniac17 3 years ago
yeah
Hjernespreng 3 years ago
I'm not so sure about that. Our 9yo son is quite high functioning.....he's made it to mainsream school after years of special education (YAY!) however he has always been very literal.
Despite all the work for eg. he now knows that I'm only joking with him when i say I'm pulling your leg!
So I really didn't expect the "meltdown" when I absent mindedly said that if I spent any more money dad would bite my head off.....Because he really thought dad was going to bite my head off. so IMO some can
autimum 3 years ago
my previous comment was in reply to Anniemaniac17.....& is only trying to convay that some people on the Autism spectrum can indeed take comments quite literally.
autimum 3 years ago
I am an aspie and I went through main stream school from the first day. How did my mom do it? You should learn from older successful aspies. Been there done that for generations.
Yetti0 3 years ago
Not only was I mainstreamed at 6.we had no preschool or kindergarten.I was triple promoted in math at the end of the first year. Two of my best friends I have known life long are successful Aspie women and mothers of aspies themselves. It stands to reason aspie women tend to be friends, & we had no idea we were aspies till our 50s. All our children (aspie or aspie lite) are very successful. Like our aspie parents,We took our parenting seriously and found schools that worked iwth our children.
Yetti0 3 years ago
Your son may be lower functioning.

What she means is that people with Aspergers usually don't understand Sarcasm and Irony.

Or, I think as is the case with me because I am diagnosed AS, can be very slow at interpreting double meanings.

Nope No mercury poisoning... that is fact.

its NOT on the autism spectrum of DISEASES
since its not a disease...

Does this interview have something to do with Craig Nicholls's behavior?

The doctor disagreed with her own statement. That just makes things confusing, not clear. At the beginning she did call AS a disease. It was the presenter, who apparently knew more than she did, that corrected her, albeit in a subtle way.

Very imformative, a nice positive video.
