  • at 00:20 i my day was cheered up.

  • is this car based on the holden monaro? i know vauxhall too the designs too. sick car!

  • @bizzyfingers No, the Holden Monaro is based on this, not the other way around. GM owned Holden.

  • @Streetracingpunk72 The GTO is a rebaged Holden Monaro bizzyfingers you had it right

  • @04YJGTO The reintroduced GTOs are based on the Monaro, yes. However, the GTO came out in 64'. Holden based their original Monaro on the GTO, which didn't come out until 68'. They even used Chevy V8s. You can say it anyway you want but in 1968 the Holden was created from the GTO.

  • @04YJGTO Unless you're saying a car that came out in 64' was based on a car that didn't come out until 68'? All of this is irrelevant seeing as the revived GTO/Monaro are garbage anyway.

  • @Streetracingpunk72 The original monaros were built by Holden on a Holden design not the GTO platform there is a rather large difference between the too...

  • @04YJGTO You mean except the Chevy V8, right?!

  • @04YJGTO I guess the point I'm trying to make and what you're failing to understand is that GM bought Holden in the 1930's. Since then, Holden has been buying engines and even chassis directly from GM. I'm sitting here at my desk looking at a 352 page book on Holden called "60 years of Holden" by Terry Bebbington.. I love Holden and I love GM's work up until the late 60's.

  • @04YJGTO Sorry to keep sending multiple comments like this but here is an excerpt from the book "The Monaro's shape was the result of a brand new Holden design studio, although it was unashamedly based on the muscle cars of the US." So yes, one could say that the original Holden Monaro was completely Aussie is design, however, used several GM components and was inspired by American muscle cars, including the Pontiac GTO. So, technically you were right about chassis design and originality. Work?

  • @Streetracingpunk72 just clarifing what you were sayin not trying to argue and yes they used gm motors but everyone uses cues from others it just happens. And Holden isnt owned by GM its a subsidary

  • This is just a great video & a great car right there! It looked like she was about to pull a wheelie on street tires lol. Nice!

  • Damn that car is pretty beast

  • This is one of the sickest set of AMERICAN wheels around these days gentlemen! Be very careful if you see this GTO on the street, cause' Joe6pt0 drives this car like he just stole it ...

  • sounding pretty good, damn good actually. put some more tags on the video so you get more views.(ls2,cam,500hp,etc.) its a good vid put it out there so people can see it.

hard to tell in the vid but if those are 245 on the rear... you should roll the fenders and invest in a 9.5" wheel with some 275-285 DR's but im sure you know that all ready... especially with the 3.91s hahha oh man that must be a hell of alot of fun!!!!

  • I'm running 275s with stock wheels. The video was on summer only street tires but I now run DRs with the fenders rolled.
