Yeah it's from 1981. Replica of Dusty Hill's Charvel bass.

When I started to play I couldn't figure out anything by ear so I always used tabs. Nowadays I use both ways. One definately learns more by using ears and becomes a more natural player.

Thanks! I can't really play by ear but I can figure things out by ear if I spend a little time on it. The bass was a Charvel San Dimas Telly bass played through a Sansamp Bassdriver pedal.

It's really hard to tell from pics but it looks "pure" yellow. Not orange nor very light. Story goes that Chris wanted "piss yellow" color on it. LOL!

British High Gain with mic position on Center. High at 1 o'clock, Bass at 3. Drive and level at 12. I have to change the "eq" settings based on the guitar used though.

I just used a Sansamp GT-2 and delay from PC for this vid. Chris used Marshalls and I think Lexicon PCM41 was a big part of his lead sound. He also used a Furman EQ in the 80s to boost the sound. And of course a high gain pickup will help.

I've got two questions ; I've heard about Amfisound guitars when i found out that Kalmah signed contract with them. They look very cool but i was wondering the difference between Jackson RRs and Amfisound's Routas. What do you think about Amfisound's tone ? Is it 100% same with Jackson ?

Another thing is ( yeah it's a guitar nerd question ) do you know if ESP is paying Jackson for their rr immitations like alexi and sv ?

Amfisound guitars feel more lightweight and resonate more. Wood quality is similar but of course the build quality is better as they don't have to produce so many guitars and can use skilled luthiers for each phase of production.

I think ESP like most manufacturers has changed the shapes just enough to avoid a lawsuit. Just my thought and not a fact.

The build quality is superior to anything out there. It's a small custom shop where experienced luthiers build the guitars from start to finish so it's more expensive but you get exactly what you order.

I really like you "madness" selection of videos. Great taste and awsome playing. And you reduced the ghosting effect to a minimum. Maybe if you reduce the overlapping area some more and stay away from the middle you could avoid it at all hehe.
