  • that is nuts how fast you were going, what time did you finish the race in?

  • Hate it when people are slow!

  • you sure this was a race or were you simply lapping beginners? if races were this pace i would be Lance Armstrong's level

  • Were all those riders you were passing rank beginners? Good lordy what a bunch of wimps!

  • everybody is riding stumpjumper :)

  • rather ur ridin a motercycle OR ur camera is bashing into ur spokes. looks like a rly easy track and y was every1 going so frikin slowly!!!!

  • killin it! that is something else.

  • WOW great ride!!!!

  • Why is everyone going so slowly?? seriously

  • Good job, I'm sure you had to pay for that descent before hand, amazing how patient you were I would of been yelling at people to get out of the way. Were their gators in that creek or something, looked like they were avoiding it like the plague. Way show those sissy's how to descend on a hart tail, amazing their lack of skill.

  • it looked like everyone else was hungover!!!! you killed it!!!!!

  • would you say that 29ers are here to stay? and how big are they progressing in the US againest 26er ?? thanks

  • wth? is this a race or a club ride? why is everyone going so slow?

  • Looking at the bikes people brought to this race, I think the problem is that they chose really poor tires for that kind of dirt. Riding into a rut with a such tires is trouble, with little off camber bite, they'd slip in and wouldn't be able to get out without putting a foot down.

I guess I'm simply used to tires with at least decent traction, that lets me ride any line on the trail that I wanted. Hence why I think all these riders are going unusually slow.

  • Thats sweet riding bombing down past all the others like they had all hit the pause button!lol Only 100mm? Crazy I'm using 203mm on the front and 220mm on rear and you would so have passed me too!!lolo

  • Wow. What a bunch of pansies in that race that have no skills/balls to descend. Slowed down by that many people of that skill level, did you manage to at least finish the race or did you miss a time cutoff at a checkpoint?

  • Wow that was a great job on that descent. You passed a bunch people. There always seems to people people who won't push their bikes and skills going downhill. Sometimes it seems like there should be someone changing pads out at the bottom because so many people ride their brakes. Again great job.

  • Sweeet!!!

  • id just rip it down the right side why else is nobody doing that lol

  • @xXUndeadShadow166Xx Because you'd be thrown off your ride and onto sharp rocks that you'd get to roll down until your body loses enough momentum to stop in a bloody, moaning, broken lump.

Seriously man, there's good a reason none of the racers (of arguably the West's most notorious XC race) were taking that line.

  • I counted 35 people that you passed. I am now going to use that number as a goal when racing in Texas. Unfortunately, we do not have descends like that in North Texas. Great vid!

  • Yes, it is a Motobecane titanium 29er

  • Is your frame a BikesDirect frame? They've got this video linked up on their site claiming it was a Motobecane Fly Team frame.

Pretty cool how you took the rough line early on and still ate the other dudes' lunches.

  • @ama3795 also wondering this

  • Roadies on dirt, frig yeah!

  • Wow those people were going excruciatingly slowly. Have they ridden a mountain bike before the race? And the people tip toeing over the tiniest rut. It boggles the mind. This is a MOUNTAIN bike RACE. The trail wasn't even technical GAHHH my head hurts.

  • Good going,You are more patient than me, people going that slow can be frustrating & dangerous but good speed when you could open it up. My biggest fear passing people like that is when they try to pull out to pass someone but most are easy enough to read .

  • Holy balls, dude! I couldn't ride that line at that speed on my KLR!

    What were you riding?

nice work! We were watching at the Columbine climb, this year.

  • @BOULDERGEEK I ride a Titanium 29er with 100mm Rockshox SID29 RCT3 fork. I descended Columbine at 37 to 38 mph...I got my training from riding with guys in Pisgah NC who use 140 to 160mm full suspension bikes.

  • @BOULDERGEEK You talking about a KLR motorcycle?

  • @BOULDERGEEK that line is SO easy...

  • That's exactly how I felt........most people in the Leadville race have no idea how to descend!!! I was passing people right and left back in '09.......it was raining so people were going even SLOWER. Great video!!!
