Such a tremendously beautiful song. I've always thought it unfortunate that his vocals - though expressive and lyrically great - were always mixed much louder than his guitar, even on his records. Wish I could get my hands on those masters! Haha. Clearly the man is a better guitar player than a singer. Rosemary Lane is absolutely haunting.
Bert Jansch is a Treasure. Ironically, a gentleman from a group home (mentally challenged) where I used to be a councilor had a Bert Jansch album and I borrowed it from him. I played it out of curiosity and discovered something more. Good post. It was a rather obscure album called "The Ornament Tree." That was years ago.
Thanks for the response! This video is from Dreamweaver, the Bert Jansch documentary. I can upload some more videos later; I have another Jansch documentary (Acoustic Routes) and a few other live performances as well. Any wishes? ;)
Thanks for posting this as it is a slightly different version than the one on the CD. I've noticied that Bert never plays the same thing in the same way twice.
I once re roofed a shopping centre record shop in Peterlee County Durham on the fly and got part paid in Bert janschs entire album ctalogue which I regretfully gave away. i am now re collecting his catalogue and with the wonder of YOUTUBE now see the great man playing the songs, aint the web great? Love you all Tom Bingham
OMG.. rest in peace dear Bert...

Thank you!

Wonderful. What year was this video recorded? I've seen Bert's young years and his recent years -- good to see something in-between.

I'd rather be paid in Bert Jansch CD's than to be paid in Gold. I wonder if they're taking on?

Totally agree -this song (and album) made a huge impression on me that greatly influenced my own musical path. Wonderful to see some live footage.

Incredible footage of one of my favourite Bert Jansch songs. Response to it seems very mute !! I hope I can find more that aren't covers.
