why do people think because you have more in the olympic team your medals should go accordingly. if you have a huge population like USA obviously you are going to get more medals than great britain or an other country but then if you consider something of equal size and population say europe which had 273 medals in 2008 with 85 gold and then compare that with the USA who had 110 with 36 gold medals you see a significant difference showing european athletes are better than American athletes

Alan Turing who was from Cambridge UK, he was drafted to the Bletchley park secret base where the work was being done on the WW2 enigma codes that the Germans were using. It was kept top secret until recently the name of this computer was Colossus; it was smashed into pieces at the end of the war.
The first known "modern computer" was invented during WWII, done by a German engineer named Konrad Zuse in 1941.

Europe has the best basketball teams btw. Spain was the world champion in 2006, Greece was second, you were third. In 2002 you weren't even in the top 4, Yugoslavia won.
Europe has better teams in hockey too. Just about this days there is a world hockey final betwen Russia and Czech.
