devon is just a nasty jealous ignorant bizzybody probably puts people down all the time on the net without enough or any research. get a life dev. keep up the good work liz obviously a loving devoted mother, her son will go far in life.
@mummylotty "Ignorant" says the woman who can't spell, capitalize, or use proper punctuation. Maybe you should spend less time watching kids get a fake education on YouTube and focus on getting a real education for yourself.
All you people posting shi ty comments should be ashamed!!! The very least she is interacting with her child and it seems like he's having fun. I smell a whole lot of jealousy!!!
You're not making him intelligent. Intelligence requires logic and understanding. At best, he's memorising symbols, but like the autistic savants, this won't develop his understanding of those numbers. Just let him be a kid, train his logic if you have to. Get him to solve puzzles and build things.
I'm not saying anything negative about autism but if you're assuming you're smarter than me without knowing a thing about me, then you're an idiot- autistic or not.
@KamikazeChicken5000 If you were really so smart, you wouldn't waste time arguing with strangers on the internet and you wouldn't claim to be smarter than a person you've never met and know absolutely nothing about.
I don't claim to be smarter than anyone, so I can call you a dipshit dumbass and get away with it. See how that works?
@chug20 honestly, you just replied to a couple of year old comments, I don't think the stupidity requires being pointed out, i'm only 17 and would have been 16 at that point and i have done a lot of growing since then and learned a lot more, that comment no longer represents me accurately, however i could say this, as part of MENSA, it is more likely that i will come across someone (at random) on the internet who is "less capable" than myself, so it is a safe bet that if i claim to be smarter i
@chug20 actually am. But you are right i suppose in some regard in that you can call me a "dipshit dumbass" although i don't think that "dipshit" is an adjective so you should probably switch around "dumbass" and "dipshit" because i have heard people use "dumbass" as an adjective before (not that i'm entirely sure it is an adjective but oh well). Oh and btw, there is a difference between saying i am smarter than you and you aren't very bright, so you later example doesn't really mix well.
@chug20 and yes i do realise this is 2 weeks late, however you were a year, so i will take the liberty of saying that my response was instantanious relative to yours.
@chug20 oh also, smart people do waste their time arguing with strangers on the internet, I used to argue with people on the internet a lot more than i do know primarily in the hopes of finding some sort of redeemable quality in society, but alas that had to wait another half a year untill i gained entrance to university and found that, in fact, despite all of the morons whom i have been trying to talk to, there are some people who can have a decent conversation with you.
WOW clearley all you people that have left rude coments are not parents at all.If you are i feel so bad for your children.....Like come on why leve ignorent messages about a little boy like that then go and put down the mother?? Like for real what is up with that!!!! She is so very proud of her little one....So stop leveing pointless coments and stop waisting your time and get a life!!!!! i thought the video was perfect!!!!!!
Poor kid!! Why are you posting these videos?? if he's good at maths great for him and great for you for helping him!! stop using him and showing of on the net so you can show what a great mother you are. it's pathetic
well done i wish my mum had done stuff like that with me it would realy of helped and i wish i knew sighn language because i spent a day with kids that had loss of hearing and i couldnt do anything =)
Yeah he is SO abused can't you tell how much he HATES this? I'll bet they tape him to a chair and force him to study all day too, right? He loves his numbers so give the kid a break.
NO, you love the numbers, and the idea that he can actually do math. He just loves the attention. It's just like playing tittaboo with him. Of course it makes him smile. My comment about BORDERLINE abuse was inappropriate, but this doesn't change the fact, that you are projecting math skills onto him. Try googling the controversy of facilitated communication, and you will see what I mean.
If by "projecting math skills onto him" you mean teaching him about the realities of quantity (true numbers) then yes that's what I was doing and he still loves it. By the way he's almost two now and still loves numbers and does arithmetic now as well. He also loves Barney, blocks, and playdough so don't so ignorantly assume that the only reason he likes playing this game is because it's the only time he gets attention. It's a 1-minute clip you can't make those kinds of judgments based on this.
Hey it's your kid. Not mine. And be carefull with the strawmen, I did not suggest it was the only time he got attention. You are right that I cannot judge on two videos only, but I found it symptomatic of facilitated communication nonetheless. It's good to give children a sense of numbers, just don't kid yourself that he can tell 18 from 19 dots a part in two seconds. Read my comment on the other video. You are the one giving him the answer indirectly. But hey you are obviously a caring mother.
You're right, the other video (which has gotten quite a few commenters) is a pretty poor video, as I realized that not only in this example video did I put both numbers on the right side, but there are all kinds of other little perks people pointing out (you can't see the mother's face, she appears to be holding the answer closer, etc). The video was actually put on there to post on my blog and I didn't anticipate the feedback. But nothing can be proved from that video which I am fine with...
...However, I am currently in the process of editing some videos that are not so flawed, and hopefully everyone will see that little children CAN perceive numbers. Not only can they tell 18 dots from 19 dots they can tell 98 dots from 99. It is an ability that disappears by about age 3 but enables children to UNDERSTAND numbers and math and they can do instant arithmetic if they are trained with this method. I don't expect you to believe me as I thought it was insane when I first heard it...
Thank you for sharing Doman training method. I read about it but don't know how it really practice. You gave me an insight of how to begin. Good job! Keep up the good work. I can't wait to see how he progress. And do you join any support group? Or do you have any blog that shares how you preparing for the material? What's the next thing you're gonna teach? Do you teach him to read at the mean time?
I don't know what you're trying to communicate here, but I'm not getting it without some background - which is not provided. Is this part of some series or something?
I bet your really really ugly, with lots of pimples. A little nerd boy sitting down at his computer with nothing better to do, but to make fun of people. You do know that God created blacks and whites right, so what do u mean her genes will be useless???
I posted that comment b/c someone said that now this lady's genes are wasted b/c her child is black. What a horrible thing to say, and anyone who feels that way is mean.
doman training is excelllent. Ignore the ignorance in some of these other commentors. They lack a thorough understanding of the Doman System. I wish the world had more parents like you.
thats great that you are doing that for him. My mum did Glen Doman with me when I little, it goes a long way. I find that now I 'get' math in a way others don't seem to. Also, when I see groups of things, I can guess the amount fairly accurately. Good for you, its a gift that he'll be thanking you for when he's older :) I love my mum so much for having given me the head start.
Wow, don't you love the amount of negativity on the internet? Most of these people are probably sitting here jerking off and smoking cigarettes while their baby crawls around on their dirty bedroom floor. And here someone like you does something spectacular for their child. Kudos to you, you are a great mom.
Isn't this the frst part of Mentat training?
