  • @buick906 yeah they're really good notebooks, I got one for my sister's birthday. I have a 13" MacBook pro.

  • This is Apple's best advertisment.

Apple is f*cking good in marketing.

  • Apple sure knows how to market their products

  • i have the mid 2011 macbookair 11inch

  • I found so many mac videos that I have been browsing youtube for an hour now and disliking them all.

Mac book laptop is just the same as any apple iPhone, just in bigger scale. So stop wasting ur money for oversized phones wich cannot even call to anyone. Get a phone, get a computer

  • What kind of features does Mac Air has? for ex. webcams etc.. and Does it get virus? cause I heard apple are known for not getting a virus on that pc and laptops...

  • Im actually gonna buy that this thursday.

  • Im going to buy this just because it can fit in a envolope :)

  • If my over prised laptop turned up in a shitty envelope like that I would send it right back.

  • I remember when I first saw the ad on T.V.

I was like.. in shock lolo.

Now my Mom has one. And it's not that awesome. lololol.

  • But, will it blend?

  • If not mistaken the most obvious stuff taken out from here is optical drive. Actually, it's the right thing to do. Becos, we don't really need to use CD/DVD when we're outside. It's an extra burden to the weight. What we can do here, is to purchase portable optical drive & keep it at home. If we need it, just plug it in. This is how I see the situation. :)

  • for all the people who hate on this computer: the point that apple is trying to show is that they can make a small computer that still runs better than a PC.

  • GO MAC BOOK AIR GOING TO BUY ONE CANT WAIT WOOOH!

  • i hope i get it

  • i want it so bad

  • @biebed yes there is

  • okay, this is my point:

This is a macbook, super thin and doesnt have much but it is perfect because that way it dont get that much virus and actually is better than the other notebook just that this one doesnt have a cd reader for me is the perfect laptop and like mac said: is the next generation of macbooks

  • this is my point it is a mac super thin and dont have much but that way is better because it will help it not to get that much virus and fits everywhere for me is the perfect laptop and like mac said is the next generation of macbooks.

  • He couldn't afford a laptop bag :(

  • So that is what was the crunch in my mates manila envelope when I stood on it....

  • I would love a disk slot, oh wait, that's too convenient for apple to include

  • If you like stop motion check my videos out

  • you know what steve jobs is trying to point out in this commercial... that it is only thin. No new features, just way overpriced.

  • wow it fits in a manila envelope

  • My oh my, Apple caught themselves in a lie with this ad. That is not the world's thinnest notebook. I paid a few bucks for my notebook over at wal-mart :)

It fits in the same size envelope and its a whole lot smaller too. I could fit dozens of notebooks in that envelope. Or a few in each of my pants pockets, shirt pocket, or in the coin slot under the AM/FM radio in my car.

  • If you recall this TV ad was a few years ago. Today everyone makes thin notebooks because what Apple created You can rant and rave and post snarky remarks all you want but this is undisputed fact: Apple innovates, the PC world only imitates.

If you doubt me, search NY Times, Fortune and the Wall Street Journal Web sites and be enlightened.

  • was it made a few years ago? I don't pay attention to the latest wet dreams Mac fans get from old PC technology. Actually if you were to take the time to look into old PC publications dating back 10 - 20 years you'd see Apple hasn't been at the forefront of "innovation" in some time.

There was a time when Apple could legitimately make that claim. It hasn't been true for a long time (even in computing years). Without IBM there'd be no Intel MAC to hammer out your misconceptions online.

  • @AllFractUp

I took a look on Google for "history of computers" and came across many interesting sites that journal the progression of human computers to their modern electronic versions. The "Computersciencelab" site was the first one I went to because it promised rare photographs of early computing machines (including the Hollerith - IBM - machine which some attribute to the efficiency of the Holocaust).

  • You sure know your computing history, although you left out Xerox PARC, which had the GUI desktop interface with mouse, sitting unused in their basement, It was given to Steve Jobs who saw the future of that technology and created the Macintosh. But I'm talking about today's innovations — not 30 years ago. Case in point: Apple Stores have been around for almost a decade and just now Microsoft has launched "The Microsoft Store" which copies the Apple Store in every aspect.

  • I didn't provide a timeline so that would possibly mean I did not leave anything out. Just possibly. See, you never said you were talking about "today's" innovations. If you had said that sooner then I would have asked what innovations has Apple made in "recent" history?

Opening a store to sell their own products within the past 10 years? Hmm...Radio Shack has that model hands down and did it decades before Apple. Who's copying now?

  • I followed up on your suggestion that Xerox created the first GUI. Using Google I first typed "xerox parc" and went right to the "parc" web site. They have a time line of their achievements. Then I searched for "history of the GUI" and went to the "sensomatic" web site.

They have a better time line, giving credit to Dr. Vannevar Bush for his vision of the prequel to the Internet and personal computers. You may want to look into the Memex (Meme Machine) as well as Dr. Vannevar Bush.

  • "Today everyone makes thin notebooks because what Apple created "

Factually untrue. Thin notebooks, "ultra lights", and subnotes (aka palm tops) have been done by PC makers long before Apple stuck their toes into the water. Like it or lump it there is nothing to distinguish an Apple PC from a(n) "imitation" PC.

I wasn't being snarky whatever that is. They advertised the world's thinnest notebook. Notebooks have been around a good deal longer than notebook-sized portable computers.

  • @akwaqs PC's are also macs. but yea, I get what your saying.

  • A great activity with friends is too challenge them to fit there laptops in an envelopp and when they fail whop out your 3000$ mac book, you'll get applause and eternal worship form them.

  • I see many of today's PC notebooks able to fit into an envelope like that... 2 to be exact

  • @adr58

Boy I can't tell yeah how many times my friends whipped out a 3,000 dollar piece of junk from a 20 cent envelope. I'm just so much in awe of the money they wasted on their Apple anything.

  • Macs rule, period.

(made on a MacBook Air :-)

  • @akwaqs

Loser Apple Users think writing a text message on a $3,000 netbook copycat is cool! Written on a 486 DX4 100 MHz PC and uploaded over a 33.6Kbps modem. HA!

  • If only it had something under the hood worth mentioning. I'd rather go with a Lenovo Think Pad. Way more bang for your buck. Basically you're paying $3000 for a screen, a tiny ass hard drive, and a keyboard. Not realy anything else in it. AND YOU KNOW IM RIGHT JUST GIVE UP

  • @damaster77854

You are right. Don't forget the 80 GB HDD, the 1.6 or 1.8 GHz IBM / Intel CPU, and the battery that is hidden away from upgrading hands - securely fastened to the belly of this lame beast with over a dozen screws!

  • WOW! mac LOST SO MUCH WEIGHT! Damn!

  • i keep thinking that its gunnu break in half or sumthin

  • the only cool thing about macbook air is how its really light and portable. But to make it that light and portable they removed many stuff that a good laptop should have.

but it fits in an envelope ^.^

  • @Zenithson05 now it's pretty much a netbook.

  • its also ultra useless LOL jk jk

  • So you're gonna buy an underpowered laptop for 3k to save some space, when you could buy a cheap gateway for 500 and only lose a few centimeters of space in height and about 2/3 a foot wide

    kay'

Not that gateways are any good...just an example.

  • Woah. That thing is... underpowered and overpriced.

But I still want it ;)

  • the song is great!

its from yael naim - new soul ;)

  • thanks Man

  • How can you possibly ask what the song is? It's right there in the comments, it's in the related videos four inches away, and it's in the video description!!

  • NEW SOUL BY YAEL NAIM!

how could you not know this???

  • The MacBook Air, what a discrace to the MacBook line.

  • yea

  • New Soul by Yael Naim

  • this is for buisness, and if your in buisness you should have enought..now if u buy for gameing...your stupid lol

  • @Chrisatoz

Must be for those businesses Obama swooped in to take over. You know, the ones that can't make sound business decisions and have to have a Nanny State take over so they won't have to think anymore.

  • People sometimes say The PS3 and the X360 is expensive. This thing is 3,000 bucks! the PS3 is like 300 bucks! just get that.

  • the air is 3,000 bucks.

  • I'd be afraid that I'd break it...

  • It's only $1,799 USD... How the hell is that expensive?

    - Al!

  • wats the song

  • The song you're looking for is "New Soul" by Yael Naim, pretty isnt it? I hope this helps

  • yup, thanx

  • i bet it breaks really easily

  • apple is so smart about its advertising. this commercial couldn't have taken more than 20 minutes to make (except for the expensive as hell comp). talk about cost efficiency.

  • that kinda sucks that it doesnt have a cd-player..lol

  • or a removable battery, such a waste of a laptop apple just feels the need to own the smallest laptop. next they'll make a laptop without any hardware in it at all so you can just slide it in and out of your pocket all day feeling smug about your $10,000 peice of plastic :P

  • lol. nahh. microsoft already sells that kind of shite. $15 for a fuckind windows mp v.11 dvd decoder. it suposed to come with one of those. fucking greedy kunt bill gates

  • @thetransporter8585

Bill Gates is greedy? As opposed to Steve Jobs? Uh-huh.
