and about oldschool 2stroke power, i'll tell you the truth

i own 2 rm250's, one from 91' and one from 04'

they say the 04 engine was the fasted ever made, but the power of the 2 is almost the samel! the 04 has much more bottom power, and is smoother than my 91, when my 91 decides to open up his powervalve you'd better hang on to your bars! the only reason i'm faster on my 04 is because of the suspension ;)

has the bikes crank seals gone?? even when its wot its still smoking heavily. also looked a bit flat. whos bike is it? just trying to suss why the goat mxer is on a 20yr old bike thats not upto scratch?? 2t are faster full stop. the bigger cc of 4t make for better power delivery and make them comparible ie 125 2t = 250f 4t. 250 2t = 450f 4t. the 4 strokes have come a long way though and power levels are on the up. expensive to maintain prper tho comp to a stroker.

Believe me: I rode a cr 500 for years, once you can control that power, it's addictive! even today mxriders in belgium go with the 500 because no mx bike ever built delivers this kind of power at any rpm . you easily get around most tracks in third and dont shift once, and go fast as hell!

@pixuma the 88 cr 125 i had, had no bottom or midrange, and an average top end. My 2002 kx 125 on the other hand had power right from the hit of the throttle. (no low end though its a 125) power wheelies in fourth gear not even trying. fmf fatty and silencer, reeds, jetted, large sprocket on rear, profilter.

haha okay u tell yourself that, a premix ratio change is just a quick fix to a jetting problem. I run 38:1 on my bike which is alot less than the 32:1 that is recommended. Fouled plugs and low packing life is a sign of your premix ratio being to oil rich. Emitting alot of smoke can be a simple premix OR a jetting problem. And yes cold bikes do smoke like all hell but he should have warmed up before pinning that bike like he was.
