The series of albums is called Adiemus, as well as one of the tracks in the first album, the componist is Karl Jenkins and the original version was sung by Miriam Stockley and performed by the London Philharmonic Orchestra with additional performers and a project choral group conducted by Jenkins
Is it the project choral group that is called Adiemus?
@yueyume This song is the song that made Karl Jenkins' Adiemus project famous. However, this particular song is a version that was released on Miriam Stockley's most recent solo album "Eternal." In this version, she does all of the vocals herself (whereas in the original versions she was the lead singer, accompanied by Jenkins' choral group.)
the lead singers pronounciation in this seems odd, compared to the so called "enya" version - can anyone explain? if this person sung it why is her pronounciation different to the other version... :)
@MukeshPandya1985 The other version of this song was sung by Miriam Stockley as the lead singer, but she had a choir with her. In this version, Miriam Stockley does all of the voices. Also, the other version was done a good 15 years ago or so, which might make a difference in the way it sounds.
its not different, they have used different effects on the vocal is all. Miriam sang everything originally. A Choir was only used in live performances, on the recordng its all one woman!
@Babykiara92 Thanks for watching! :-) BTW, there is no version by Enya--anything labeled "Adiemus by Enya" is mislabeled, she never did this song. The other version of this song was also done by Miriam Stockley, accompanied by the Mary Carwe and the Adiemus Singers. This version is solo Miriam Stockley.
Its funny how so many people always gives credit to Enya for every new-age / chill-out song there is. If they cant find a name to the song, its Enya ! Come on folks.
Miriam is compared to Enya, and they have being independent artists in common.
That's where it ends. Miriam has South Africa in her blood, composes and sings in that idiom. One minute she sounds something like Enya. The next minute you are in Africa.
The images are simply stunning and only enhance what has been for me a very mystical piece of music since it was released in 1995.......Unique yet raw, Miriam Stockley's vocals are distinctive-and synonymous with the collection of the 5CD collection unified by the theme.. 'Adiemus'. Beautiful work - thank you for posting!
@Trishanelle Thank you for the compliment, and you're welcome! :) And of course true thanks go to Miriam Stockley, for sharing her voice with the world. Check out her solo stuff, or her ongoing work with AOmusic.
@Musavi1 Enya never recorded this song. If you see this song title done by Enya, it's mislabeled. It's always been done by Miriam Stockley (first version was done by the group Adiemus, featuring Miriam as the lead singer.)
There are several versions, all composed and conducted by Karl Jenkins and all of them perfrmed by Miriam Stockley with additional vocals Mary Carewe, there are different musical arrangements and edits, he used the London Philharmonic Orchestra in the original version (1995) and in the 4th album he formed the "Adiemus Orchestra"...
Enya has nothing to do with the Adiemus project, she has never performed this track in her life, maybe in the shower or in her car who knows !
I honestly don't think this song has been professionally produced by Enya. I know many choirs have sung this song, but as for a professional recording, as far as I know only Karl Jenkins and his Adiemus singers and Miriam Stockley have done this

It's from Miriam's album called "Eternal"--you can get the CD from her website, or from eBay, Amazon, CDBaby, etc. Or if you just want this one song, it's available on iTunes.
I can't recall when was the first or the last time I heard it, but I haven't heard this song for years till now. It sounds so beautiful... Great to hear it again :)
I use to watch the tales of benjamin button by Beatrix potter every time i visited my grandparents as a child, and i would always watch the credits because of Miriam Stockley´s song "Perfect Day". Of course I didn´t find out what the song was called or who sung it until recently, and i still get this wondrous nostalgic feeling when listening to it. And im so happy i found the song at last, because i also discovered Karl Jenkins as a result. Thank you for posting this song ;D
Adiemus is the name of this song, as well as being the name of the singing group that sung this. Adiemus was created by Karl Jenkins; Miriam Stockley is the lead singer, with a Finnish choir called the Adiemus Singers backing her up.
What, a Finnish choir has something to do with this wonderful song???? Is that really true?? Are you sure??? :) Do you know something more about this choir?

Thanx a lot for posting this alternative version. Curious is, that the chorus sounds very similar to the Adiemus version, while it's the styl on the verses and finale which is slight different.
Yes, it does sound similar to the original, but upon multiple listenings the differences become more and more apparent. One of the main differences is that Miriam re-did the orchestration, and in this one she does ALL of the voices, not just the lead. Thanks for commenting!

Actually, on the original Adiemus version, the Lead vocal is sung by Miriam Stockley and the 'chorus' is sung by Miriam Stockley & Mary Carewe.
The Finnish singers joined the Adiemus set up a few years later.
On this version, it is all Miriam Stockley - including the chorus! That is what she is known for!
You're right on one point - Enya has never recorded this!
