There used to be one lone wind turbine going north it'd be on the right, its blades were painted red white and blue, anyone know if it's still standing?
Last time I went through there it was. My dad used to tell me it was the first windmill put there. Whether it it was or not, I'm not sure, but I'm always sure to look for it.
the altamont pass is lame. it takes me an hour to get there. nothing to stare at but windmills and cows that stick to the side of the hill defying the laws of gravitation.
I live in Tracy to i can see then from miles away because i live in the far side of tracy in Hidden Lake and the hills are a pretty site, also if you want a pretty site there is a road called patterson pass that goes throught the hills and into livermore you can even see the delta from the top
Great video! I'm glad you appreciate some of my handywork! I worked for Kenetech Windpower for almost three years before they went belly up. I assembled and inspected the large slow-moving KVS-33 turbines. I actually had one of them blow up in my face at a windfarm in Pipestone, MN. I still have a photo of me after I got back from the hospital. Slow but sure they're disappearing. The "Eggbeaters" from Flowind are gone. They were the hoop-shaped turbines.
The Eggbeaters are gone? I loved these...I know they took the ones down at Tehachapi Pass, near Mojave. I loved the way these looked from the 580 hwy....
where do you live i live in tracy just down the hills anyway if you have heard about a road called patterson pass you can see the delta from the top can you film a video there
