  • Sry but this sounds like shit

  • Amazing.

  • why didnt his gutair blow up?

  • i can see it....I can see it....I can see it

  • 1:47 Pa-chu! Light Saber!

  • jimmy uses his unbelieveble dick sceles!

  • manifike

  • What is he playing?

  • @ShowFreakThe something

  • @ShowFreakThe A MUTHAFUCKING LIGHSABER THAT"S WHAT!!!

  • Jesus, this is fucking EPIC, i just love it.

  • Holy phuck!

  • Awesome. I was there and still remember the laser pyramid and the laser into the crown from Jimmy's bow. One of the most memorable events of my life! Just watching a few vids of Zep; I'd forgotten just how well Robert Plant signs the blues and Jimmy Page plays the blues.

  • @RubiconCSL You are so right!Saw the lads in 75'.Was against the barricade between Page and Plant. The experience will be forever etched on my soul.ROCK ON

  • Is this from when Page was heavy into drugs? Nice effects here and there, but for the most part, this totally sucks!!

  • @rodentcafeteria ....JP is still my hero from when I was kid, but this is poor. Heavily influenced by drugs at this time as you said. Shame really.

  • shame you can't see the laser pyramid around him..

  • wao some people r dont like this?

  • I couldn't dream of playing this

  • If you go forwards or listen to the whole thing it actually gets really good.

  • worst solo ever :P

  • what an amazingly epic and mysterious solo

  • Heroin was just not made for Page

  • Led Zep SUCKS!!!!!

  • @drnapls2 DIE INFIDEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • When Jimmy is playing well hes amazing, but there was just an era, starting around 79 and into part of the 80's, where he would just be horrible. Drugs was the problem at the time, but whew there were times I would just feel really bad for him and the audience. But he overcame and still plays fantastic. Jimmy is a guitar legend.

  • tht sounds appaling wat the fuk are u fools actually listenin to the crowd off thier heads on shrooms or sum shit like tht it sounds like my nephew just got his first electric guitar and started tryin to batter the fuck out my dog hahahahahahaaaaaaha u losers will listen to anything u fukin lunatics lmfao

  • @gudbuds21 Try some bad buds ,gudbuds!!!!!

  • how is it possible that you can drop a guitar and it will tune down?!?!?

    FUCK IT'S SO AWESOME!!!!!!

  • wtf.. 6 justin gayber fans

  • the king

  • this solo just proves that a violin bow can't be used for electric guitars, but this is still a good concert

  • @nothingbutrock666 you got the two sentences mixed up ther it should be

this solo just proves that a violin bow can be used for electric guitars, but this is still a preety bad concert

  • to those who think jimmy page's playing is sloppy, just remember he's probably fucked on heroin out of his mind

  • HOLY SHIT GLOW IN THE DARK VIOLIN BOW!!!!!!!

  • Jimmy Page-FOR EVER,THE GUITAR WIZARD!!

  • dang if only jimmy page and jack white had spent more time together. they would have had some amazing work

  • Page reminds me of a thirteen year old kid that just learned the pentatonic scale.

  • @partlyshady You remind me of a sad sack of $h*t

  • @keven2r and you remind me of the sad twat who has nothing better to do with his day other than trolling the internet with the sole intention of pissing people off.

  • @CokeeDaPenguin awww aren't we touchy. Cokee-wokee You must really be a sad person if you get involved in an exchange that didn't even involve you. But what can I expect from a CokeeDaPenguin?? Not much actually...

  • @partlyshady Edward Van Halen - Reveals his inspiration for 'Tapping'

  • Sounds like something out of a Video game. Is he using the Theremin?

  • Eddie VanHalen did not invent the hammer on technique, check out Steve Hackett (ex Genesis), he was using hammer on in 1973/ 1974

  • @CokeeDaPenguin who said he did? no no eddie didnt come up with it but he definitely expanded and perfect a shit ton of ways to use it.

  • @EvhCharvel The only reason I mentioned the fact is because the majority of people assume that Eddie VanHalen was the innovator of tapping, and I would never deny that he was and still is probably one of the best in the world at using this technique.Going back to Jimmy Page though, I was actually at the second Knebworth gig in 1979 (August 11th) and Robert Plant apologized for the previous weeks performance which I am assuming that this was taken from.

  • @CokeeDaPenguin youtube this: Edward Van Halen - Reveals his inspiration for 'Tapping'

  • And Eddie Van Halen would have everone believe he invented the hammeron tecnique. Page did this same solo all during the 77 tour

  • HOLY CRAP GLOW BOW!!! I THOUGHT IT WAS A FRIEKEN LIGHTSABER LOL!

  • Jimmy Page travelled back in time and was kidnapped by Moses, and forced into a guitar battle with God. Jimmy Page won.

  • @seanozep well yeah, God doesn't play guitar.

  • @seanozep no, but jimmy is amazing

  • THE BOW!!! Jimmy is amazing. So there.

  • @MrMeddled I think he's being psychadelic here. Page always wanted to be mysterious. The glowing bow and the weird octave-effect is kinda psychadelic.

  • @MrMeddled Hey dude show some damn respect to one of the greatest guitar gods of all time fucking lughead.. You know nothing about rock if you call Page's Solo's a fucking abortion.. You should stick to that weak shit like Three Doors Down and whack ass garbage like that cause you clearly know nothing about rock or psychadelic rock for that matter..

  • Dude hes not sloppy its just the video feed I mean hell 40yr old camera's think about it.. Hearing it on a video and seeing and hearing live is a total different thing

  • @DrunkenDisaster247 watch Page's other solos and compare them to Blackmore. He plays much cleaner than Page. Watch live 80's concerts of Jimmy too. You will see what I mean. Page is just creative (even though he steals other people's songs). And even though he plays dirty, he makes it look cool. Page is still my #1 guitarist.

  • @ljestabillo FUCK YOU

  • @DrunkenDisaster247 lmao dude.... he IS sloppy. Not that theres nothing wrong with it -_-

  • Page is a sloppy guitarist especially live. He is very influential though. Maybe hes just not turning the gain high enough (which sounds terrible when he does fast picking) or just the cocaine kicking in. Im not fan of the bow either. Nothing impressive there except when your high (which is 95% of the crowd). Still he is a guitar god. I wouldnt be playing the guitar if it wasnt for the man. You rock Jimmy!

  • hey, this performance isnt that bad. it sounds like a wizard creating spells. but its not at its best.

  • 0:34 it sounds like page is using a digitech whammy

  • Jimmy Page - I am sorry to say it to all his fans - is absolutely overrated. They did some very good studio-songs - but live is boring and always sounds misty

  • @joe22589 I would agree to that at this performance at Knebworth, but thats 'cause he's stoned out of his mind. If you look at the others, such as the album "How The West Was Won" there is some very elegant, tight, and frankly amazing stuff.

  • @joe22589 have you seen more then knebworth?? if not then you cant talk

  • @Matthew9444 I saw them twice in the 70´s. I love most of their studio work, I played drums and I see Bonham high above in the drums-olymp, Jones was a great bassman and Page had lots of talent - but I NEVER liked his live sound and this playing with a violin bow, these overdose of effects (I play guitar as well and not so bad) and the massive trebles in his guitar tone. It is a matter of taste, ok. Stay tuned!!

  • @joe22589 that shut me up :)

  • @joe22589 shut up.

  • @joe22589 Just because you like gay ass AC DC

  • @ShowFreakThe ACDC is fucking awesome too!

  • lol..You must had a great evening Jimmy!!

  • WOW just WOW 2 COOL

  • WOW just WOW

  • JP IS A MIGHTY WIZARD.

  • its not his best, but its still pretty trippy and cool

Jimmy Page is the wizard of guitar

  • When you listen to the violin solo part, you can just hear that Jimmy was a lost soul at this point. What makes him a genius, though, is that he still manages to tell the story.

  • Pablito73X this was 30 years ago and I was there and it was amazing!!!!!

  • In his head, this sounds amazing... haha!!

  • he using the wh-1

first time i heard him use it

  • certainly sounds like one but I dont know if they were around. Moog or some other synth pedal sound more right, but yeah

  • Although this is one of pages worst perdormances, it still better than anything Pete Townsend even did on the guitar, and he was even sober most of the time.

  • and his better then most guitarest now. in this solo

  • @mrtamberineman123 Pete is great too

  • @mrtamberineman123

    uh

    no. Pete Townshend > this

  • @mrtamberineman123 Pete is no slouch...Exhibit "A" in his defense I also find it a stretch to suggest that either one of them were even remotely sober when either one of these videos were recorded. I love the "Pete Cam B" around 2:18..he's wired out of his freaking mind. I wonder what a band with Pete and Page would sound like.

  • @mrtamberineman123 pete townsend rocks dont hate on the who

  • @mrtamberineman123

Your spelling of performances is the worse on this page.

  • this sounds exactly like one of those 'shred' videos.

  • 0:16 reminds me of "sleepwalk" by the santo brothers.

  • wizzard with lightning

    :B

  • jimmy gives the finger at 0:55

  • or takes the pick out of his mouth

  • @livezeppelin it was a joke

  • probably someone was going to throw a firecracker and instead of yelling fuck off he just gave the finger. He got hit in the face with one once, but i can't remember what show.

  • @contagioushotdog the 1980 show in vienna

funnily enough i just downloaded that particular bootleg a few days ago

  • or it can be livezeppelin's reason too

  • que paso jimi antes eras chevere

  • LOL? what the hell that was cool

  • my ancestors own knebworth castle the lyttons thats my last name led zeppelin played there and there my favorite band!!!

  • too trebeley

  • talk about effects!!!!

  • definitely not the same zeppelin that we saw from around '73.

  • i knooooow!!

  • that sounds exactly like the whammy pedal.

  • wat guitar is he playing???

  • one of his les pauls

  • i know its cool and different from the other but it lacks harmony in it. they rocks when it comes to slow rock

  • awesome end

    :B

  • that is fuckin awesem

  • so fucking amazing dude.

  • A glow in the dark violin bow. Rock on Jimmy

  • People liked lazer FX back in good old 1979-made them happy.

  • Didn't exist back then.

  • PMSL! Sorry but this is funny - well I think so.

  • ha ha people are arguing like this is really jimmy page! fuckin funny.... and yes the guys that did this are big assholes. ha ha.

  • That is really Page. He did this solo on the entire 1979 tour. Check out the German concerts. Same thing.

  • They didnt tour in '79. They did wtwo warm up gigs in copenhagen in July and two shows at Knebworth in August of '79...

  • why all the hate on jimmy?

  • that gangstashit guy just needs to go burn in hell..along with all the dead rappers

  • how is he doing the pitch shifting @ 0:27?

  • @jhachey222 only God knows (and the band)

  • Kill urself, piece of black shit

  • hahahahahahahhahahah fucking funny no taste retard

  • You must be joking. i don't understand why people seek out music they don't like and comment on it. And if you're going to type the word freakin' which is tacky enough, spell it right. Oh and straight has an i in it, as well as a g... and an h. See that part of grammar gets tough i know but there are these little red lines that show up when you spell something wrong, but misspelling must be some Gangsta shit i don't get, kind of like you not getting good music. ha

  • Go kill yourself.

    Please.

  • ur dumb

  • gangstaashitt013 is a dick sucker who likes sucking rappers dicks

  • ive been playing music for over 6 years and i know whats cheesy and corny..i find the violin bow solo is still awsome.its only a gimmick to me when someone doesnt know how to use it properly, at keast with jimmy he knew how to make it sound mysterious and awsome.

  • lol Rulesand, spoken like a true douchebag

  • What kind of pitch shifting effect has he got going on?

  • thats pretty cool how the bow glows:P:P

  • probly from dazed and confused

  • looks like he has one of those star wars swords

  • errrhhhh like a light saber???

  • That thing at 1:14-1:20 where he's walking on his knees is cool as shit. He looks like a lumbering giant.

  • what does Jimmy use to picking there?! somekind of stick, but it's awesome!!! started on 1:50

  • a bow

  • incredible

  • Haven't seen this since I was there in 79, floods of memories come back such as the New Grampian Hotel in Stevenage was the only pub open to rock fans and was selling crates not pints when I got to the bar!! In a sea of people the guy I asked for a light was someone I worked with! Kids playing in the overflowing piss from the gents urinals, the crowd parting to let the ambulance through to a pregnant woman, and drinking warm special brew all weekend. Happy days.

  • From the sound of it I can guess Jimmy is using his Red Cherry Les Paul, natural Marshall SLP gain, eventide harmonizer, MXR Phase 90, Echoplex, violin bow and some lasers for his bow =D

  • by the sounds of how much of a fag you are... i can guess you're a fag!

  • Beat ya to it huh? Look save the comments for preschool because I suppose thats the only place where your ignorant remarks would be appreciated. =D

  • no its just that no one asked and or cared and all your trying to do is look smart. we all can use wikipedia, give it a break.

  • Not everything can be found on wikipedia. If I meant to show off i would probably post it on all the videos but i didnt, why dont u calm down i'm a huge Page fan thats all

  • except you can find that. i just checked. its there.

  • Ok so what?

  • just replying to your only viable argument since "If I meant to show off i would probably post it on all the videos" has no relevance since he uses different instruments in different videos.

  • Well i meant it to the other posts of the same video but i didnt mean anyone to get the feeling that i was showing off i was simply posting it for any curious viewers

  • Shut up troll

  • why is everyone so pissed at you? you just stated a few facts, thats all.

  • Thank you I was wondering the same myself personally im not too upset but im suprised the negative reactions i got

  • I love jooo!

  • FUCK! SHIT!

  • Jimmy Page is using an octave effect.

  • Like the one he used on "Fool In The Rain"?

  • he also use a delay effect

  • well he knows it =P im a real led zep fan but i dont know the intruments all when i hear them still i can reconigze his les paul always :D

  • fuck you jimmy, you're the best, you're god!!!

  • hahahahahaha

    true

  • This solo would be a lot better without that ridiculous pitch transposer effect. He's just farting around with a new toy, and it gets pretty monotonous, if you ask me.

  • Sick solo, page is amazing. haha hes fuckin weird as hell man

  • weird is as weird does....somethin like that

  • Cant believe its nearly 30 years since I was at that gig.

  • yea me 2

    I was there aug11th

    wow I miss them days

  • that shit was fucking raw.

    kinda scary.

    pagey is fucking amazing.

  • i bet most of this huge solo hes doing coulda became parts of solos that coulda been on future zepp cd's if they didnt break up .

  • I know that they covered comon everybody on the royal albert hall thats not on the dvd I dont think you might wanna check it out and see.
