I've just finished watching this drama several minutes ago.. it's one of the saddest dramas I've ever seen. It gives the viewer a heartache. :(

Yoon Hwang-bo is a police chief & the man she loves & is loyal to since childhood; she hides her feelings for him due to social class differences. Jang Sung-baek is the leader of a revolutionary group who seek to bring a new era of equality & justice. When Chae-ok & Jung Sung-baek meet, they feel a mutual connection that draws them together even when they stand on opposing sides of the law.

Never for once I believed the love between HJW and KMJ's characters were purely sibling love. They loved each other as man and woman, and I dont find that wrong as they don't know they're blood related.

I'm an absolute KMJ-HJW shipper, haha!

@panado1 omg i hear you, i hear you. no way was that purely sibling love. i don't even think the attraction in the beginning was because of the blood tie. anyone who watches the cave scene can't deny the fact that the air was filled with sexual tension esp when jang sung baek was holding her as she slept. i even think the last moment when chae ohk whispered "orabuni" (brother), there was a sadness and regret in jang sung baek's eyes. they died as both siblings and lovers

@phantomwaltz I agree. I can't understand people who say their connection was merely that of brother/sister when the cave scenes where charged with sexual tension. When Chae-ohk wakes up to Jang Sung-baek holding her so tenderly and carefully stroking her hair, she literally has to hide her decidedly non-sisterly reaction, which is a rapidly beating heart. There was also all the hugging and general skinship, not to mention two love confessions. The romantic kind.

@gigo518 that's exactly how i feel - until the cave scene i tried to convince myself that that their relationship must be sibling love. but the cave scene changed everything. sungbaek held her so intimately and looked at her face as if he wanted to devour her (haha sorry) and chaeohk was so flustered. but in the end, i'm just going to believe that it doesn't matter what type of love it was. at least chaeohk got a little peace after learning why she loved two men, and sungbaek... poor guy

@phantomwaltz (cont.) & have you noticed that almost NO Damo mvs show the cave scenes? I've yet to find one, actually. Ppl seem to be afraid to display these scenes in their vids b/c they are disturbed (or afraid viewers will be disturbed) by the content. This proves to me that they DO acknowledge the non-sibling attraction/romance. It's a shame ppl are so put off by it. Personally, in the context of the show, their relationship/feelings were acceptable due to their ignorance of the situation.

@panado1 but then you wonder.. if they had met knowing they were brother and sister.. would they not have felt the same attraction? is this a case where circumstances created love? or was the nature of their feelings toward each other a sexual attration? sighhhhhh so tragic, a forbidden love. but given the context of the drama, i was a total jang sung baek shipper =)

This drama is really sad. They all die. I feel sorry for Lee Seo Jin when people think that Ha Ji Won will die and he takes her to his master. He keeps his eyes on her everyday and when she still unconscious, she calls out Kim Min Joon's name. I cry so much at the last episode.
