Guys, come on now. Why does it matter what you ride? I normally ride western and barback, but i have ridden english too. They are all very hard. Everyone has preferences I am not a huge fan of english, but thats just me. Some people dont like western, doesn't matter. It is a personal opion. All riders deserve equal respect as long as you can handle falling off and then getting back on, and riding whenever you can. Can we all agree on that?
I ride WESTERN, sometimes english, and (my favorite), BAREBACK! does tht make ME not a cowgirl!!! because i ride BAREBACK and engilsh too? dude! you dont HAVE to ride WESTERN to be a cowgirl!!! its if you can actually ride GOOD and you can fall off without being a baby and crying about it and get right back on without being scared! its not about what you PUT ON your horse! its how you ride!

I love him but he will never be Pikeao. I love him with all my heart but Pikeao was with me since I was 5. She was put down three years ago and know I ride Prince of hunters. I will never forget Pikeao! She was my baby and I fell off over and over againt but I love her. RIP Pikeao!!!

Uhh dud Tell ME to my face I am not a cowgirl when I do shows in a english saddle!!! and in -1 degree heat to 105 degree heat. Uhh and you say we do nothing when WE do way more than you first of all all you do is turn your horse around in circles around objects and plus your bit is easier to use as it is harsher and plus your saddle is so much easier to stay on. And all you do is like 3 rounds that take like 16 seconds while we go out their do 4 jumping rounds and two flats then we do another 1

@dunappolossa I'm not taking anything away from you because i have done english and jumping myself and it is not easy. But I am a team roper and a barrel racer and my best rope horse rode in a hackamore. My barrel horse rode in a snaffle. I would like to see you try and stay on a horse when he gets underneath himself to come around a barrel. When you start packing a rope off your english horse with your english saddle and start turning 600lb cattle..THEN you can call yourself a cowgirl =)

AND i cut and rein in an english saddle for practice and training because i have hip displasia and a western saddles hurt if i ride to long in one, but i can ride english and bareback without it hurting. i don't see jockeys racing in a western saddle, and the same thing goes for steeplechasers, fox hunters, jumping, and dressage.

@tigloveshorses it might help to take a break from the barrels and ride trails or do some groundwork and maybe teach tricks, take their mind off the runnin part.

I think that just because a girl wears a helmet, it doesn't make her a wussy. It's a personal preferance. I do and don't weaer one. For me it depends on the horse.

Thanks,I think that people realise sometime that they only have1life&1 body&that they need to take care of it.1time I decided not2wear a helmet when I was riding my horse1day.Well she took the turn2sharply,I fell off, hit my head on metal fence.I ended up getting whip lash in my neck for the3rd time.However my injury could have been A LOT worse.If I would have been wearing a helmet,I prolly would not have hurt my neck as bad.Whether people know it or not,helmets save lives!
im 13 and have been riding for almost a year i run in shows of all types my favorite thing to do is barrle race but it is not as easy as it look about 4months ago my horse turned right and i went straigh i gave him the wrong signal so my mistake and i ending up flying into a fence came out of the hospital with 3 dislokated fingers and 1 broken but after that i got right back on him as soon as getting home from the hospital
@mineymouselover1 dang i was practicin barrels once and my latigo broke and i ended up slippin out the saddle, when my head hit the ground i blacked out and had gotten a concussion. really wish i was wearin my helment but it was in my moms car and she wasnt home

So I have done the riding. How can you say that i havent when i have and i have trained horses for english and western and have won lots of things at shows for both disciplines.

i consider my english riding to get down and dirty seeing as how i ride a draft and QH and do dressage and show jumping with both. i can ride both english and western but prefer english. i consider myself a cowgirl. i work on a farm and shovel shit for a living. i walk through mud pits to get to my baby's pasture and i also tromp through the woods and creek all in my english saddle!!

I love Western, especially Rodeo's but I personally think English is way harder. You don't have anything to hold you in the saddle, you work on different skills such as bringing your horse down on the bit or your jumping position. In shows, you get judged more. It's a classier sport!

Awesome video! But I must sayyy. I don't think cowgirls are JUST western. I mean. I think you could still be a cowgirl if you rode English. I guess you wouldn't be a true cowgirl I guess if you rode English. but I think you could still be one. I believe, myself, cowgirls are just basically anyone who loves to ride and takes it to heart. Uhh dud Tell ME to my face I am not a cowgirl when I do shows in a english saddle!!! and in -1 degree heat to 105 degree heat. Uhh and you say we do nothing when WE do way more than you first of all all you do is turn your horse around in circles around objects and plus your bit is easier to use as it is harsher and plus your saddle is so much easier to stay on. And all you do is like 3 rounds that take like 16 seconds while we go out their do 4 jumping rounds and two flats then we do another 1

People put a lot of work into it, even if it may seem boring. I jump sometimes and run barrels, the only thing that matters to me is the bond i have with my horse. It's not about who does the most work or which is harder. It's about doing what you love and being with your best friend (:

@dunappolossa I'm not taking anything away from you because i have done english and jumping myself and it is not easy. But I am a team roper and a barrel racer and my best rope horse rode in a hackamore. My barrel horse rode in a snaffle. I would like to see you try and stay on a horse when he gets underneath himself to come around a barrel. When you start packing a rope off your english horse with your english saddle and start turning 600lb cattle..THEN you can call yourself a cowgirl =)

What keeps you in the saddle is not the horn or anything else they put on the saddle, it is your balance, experience, and how badly your horse wants you off its back. @xmarisax02 well obviously you've never met me. i ride bareback to herd cows honey, it makes me a better rider. AND i cut and rein in an english saddle for practice and training because i have hip displasia and a western saddles hurt if i ride to long in one, but i can ride english and bareback without it hurting. i don't see jockeys racing in a western saddle, and the same thing goes for steeplechasers, fox hunters, jumping, and dressage.

Thanks,I think that people realise sometime that they only have1life&1 body&that they need to take care of it.1time I decided not2wear a helmet when I was riding my horse1day.Well she took the turn2sharply,I fell off, hit my head on metal fence.I ended up getting whip lash in my neck for the3rd time.However my injury could have been A LOT worse.If I would have been wearing a helmet,I prolly would not have hurt my neck as bad.Whether people know it or not,helmets save lives!

im 13 and have been riding for almost a year i run in shows of all types my favorite thing to do is barrle race but it is not as easy as it look about 4months ago my horse turned right and i went straigh i gave him the wrong signal so my mistake and i ending up flying into a fence came out of the hospital with 3 dislokated fingers and 1 broken but after that i got right back on him as soon as getting home from the hospital

i consider my english riding to get down and dirty seeing as how i ride a draft and QH and do dressage and show jumping with both. i can ride both english and western but prefer english. i consider myself a cowgirl. i work on a farm and shovel shit for a living. i walk through mud pits to get to my baby's pasture and i also tromp through the woods and creek all in my english saddle!!

Everyone has different ideas and deffinitions of texts, so, it doesnt matter, although my vision of a cowgirl/cowboy, is that of someone who herds cattle on a ranch or rides in rodeos, someone who isnt afraid to get down n dirty, im sorry, but english riding seems preppy to me, and in my opinion they dont have what it takes to be a cowgirl/cowboy.

I love Western, especially Rodeo's but I personally think English is way harder. You don't have anything to hold you in the saddle, you work on different skills such as bringing your horse down on the bit or your jumping position. In shows, you get judged more. It's a classier sport!

I'm a guy. Not a "cowboy" but a country guy, and Cowgirls are the most attractive women around in my opinion. Tough as nails and lookin' good in wranglers :) And that was a great song.
