they're good... clear steps.. really helped me alot!! thanks! could you perhaps make more videos like these for RAD intermediate vocabulary.. i just started vocational grade.. thanks!!
Terminology is dependant on the syllabus of ballet. In ISTD ballet, those are petit jetes. =) I've personally never heard the term "ambote" relating to that movement. Which syllabus is that used in?
If you are going to correct someone, make sure you spell check. The term is emboite and it is the same as a petit jete. Russian and Cecchetti methods use emboite and the French school calls them petit jete.
they r doing ok 4 little girls......but their positions need 2 be more clear and they should work on getting some height in their jumps.................... :o
they are wAy too young to be on pointe. A dancer's feet have to be strong enough, these girls look to be around 8. The bones in the feet are not ready at that age for pointe shoes. What was this instructor thinking??
please help i have been doing ballet since I was 3 and am now 13 and still not on pointe. I go to an istd dance school and i have heard that an rad school you go on pointe quicker is this true and what can I do to make my teacher notice that i am ready for pointe work
Hi BillyBennyJess. An RAD dance school will not put you on pointe any earlier if you are not ready. My daughter ended up on pointe young as she did RAD Inter Foundation exam and you need a bit of pointe for that grade. She built up from there. Apologies if someone already answered this question as I see it is an old one! :0) You are maybe on pointe now?
yea i agree wit candy... wen u do higher grades, u hv 2 do jumps (n u hv 2 land softly), split in de air n do pirouttes lik 2-3 times... im evn tryin vry hard 2 cope wit it... haiz... 2 bad im born wit out de arch... haiz...
Ballet is not easy but it's still a lot of fun. It's challenging to learn especially at first, but when you get the hang of it and start getting even just some steps right, it feels great!
You should take classes! :)

did you mean " saut de chat"
jump of the cat?
skatti67 2 years ago
Jump of the cat is a "pas de chat". These girls are doing saut de chats, not grand jete's.
leslien708 2 years ago
i think pas de chat is step of the cat and saut de chat is jump of the cat. but im not sure... :/
