My opinion is thus...pits and "pit type" dogs should NOT be trained for personal protection simply based on their reputation. They can be trained for this work and excel, and I LOVE the breeds. Their use as hog dogs, police dogs, etc. however is a different story. The dog being trained looks quite a bit underweight...though that could be because of high metabolism as I've seen some this thin...up the food for working dogs. Also, I do have to wonder about the method of tie out?

Although I cannot comment on the method of training this guy is doing, being as I am a service dog and obedience dog trainer, I will say, that is a wonderful example of a APBT, might be able to gain a few lbs, but gorgeous nonetheless. People saying that is not a APBT don't know what a TRUE APBT looks like, they are NOT the hulking ottomans you see running around nowadays. THOSE are Bulldog/Mastiff/AmStaff mutts bred to have a high price for people who need a big dog to look cool.
Side note/advice: Reposition the tether, the dog shouldn't be pulling down on it's neck like that. A human makes a better tether as they cane provide some give. A spring is also helpful to reduce the impact on the dog. And why the hell are people saying the dog isn't a Pit Bull? Looks more like a Pit Bull than half the dogs I've seen portrayed as one. They're not thick overdone dogs. Also to the poster, I suggest changing "Aggression" in your title to "drive" or "Agitation work"

Hi folks, just wanted to say, nothing in this video is showing aggression. The dog is wanting to go for the sleeve, not the person. Anyone who knows anything about bite sports would know this. It does not make a dog "mean" as some might say. It's a game to them as in tug-o-war, except the vast majority of dogs do not have such drive and desire to do it. If you send a dog who has been trained on a sleeve loose on someone without a sleeve, they'd most likely say "Wtf? where's the sleeve?"

I did 2 years working with Marine Corps security force battalion Silverdale WA, screening incoming vehicles to the subbase, Kennel Master was MASC Denson, Each base had its own kennel of dogs trained at Lackland AFB. Navy MWD do not get their own dogs. I was paired with a big belgian malinois named tyson who had a hyper prey drive but was controlable

You guys can say whatever you want about me and the methods of training that I use, buttom line is, that I am Professional at what I do. To set the record straight because you all clearly do not know anything about the breed. American Pit Bull Terriers were FIRST created to work. Bull baiting, hog hunting, any big game, even herding, any job people needed them for because of their adaptability and willingness to please. THEN when baiting was banned, PEOPLE took the dog and (sadly) started fighting them. Pit bulls were not used to catch rats. The name Terrier comes from the breeds used to create the American Pit Bull Terrier

I took the time to look at your website, and I know you train police dogs, but I do not believe this is the right way of training a police dog. Tying them up to a 2ft. long chain and going at them with a sleeve and trying to get them to be aggressive? That dog looks a little too skinny and doesn't act too into it because he looks tired. This is disgusting to see a dog treated like this, if it turns round and bites a small child this guy deserves jail, you dont see the police or army doing this to train their dogs and so it's obviously not a requirement, it's either in the dogs temperment or it's cruel, the reason the police use shepards is because they naturally have no fear of humans. To answer your question about what I do when it happens, I let them go at it, usually they figure it out, it's the other owner I worry about, on many occasions my dog has been kicked, and then after we continue our walk like nothing happened.
He is a very dominant dog, he will never back down to the most dominant of dogs, I've seen him go with pit bulls, mastiffs you name it, and honestly I don't really like it, I wish he wasn't so dominant, but you may be right to an extent, I think it may be so much a part of him by now that there may be little I can do about it
I'm not argueing that, but you have to think outside your box because in your training there is alot of ego involved in that the handler always has to be in control, and in search and rescue you let the dog do the work, one of the biggest things for my training is to let go of ego and give dog the control while tracking, if not then we just screw them up. Outside of tracking he definetly listens.
Based on the intial comment from you, is that to some degree at the time of K9's action you are not Alpha in the pac. I would need to be thre or send videos so that I can help you. Listen, before you cast judgement like the rest do your research about me. Most of the clients that I have are repeating ones. They have been nxt to my side for over 6 yrs. Now thi inparticular K9 belonged to someone else at the time. That person paid an intial payment to start the training, however, when it was time cancel the debt that individual was not able to do so. Therefore, he rendered the dog to me in return I finished the training and sold K9 Bully to a family of five in LAkeland Fl.
I have a question for you, I have a big intact chocolate lab, 6 years old and has trained search and rescue since he was baby. Everytime I bring him to a offleash park he gets into a big fight with another male, it always looks bad but he's never hurt another dog, my search trainer always says just to let them figure it out, the handler of the dig getting beat up usually freaks out, what do you suggest?

@BCUWildcat33 Many reputable dog training organizations sell pre-trained dogs to family. They then train the family how to handle the dogs. I don't know about this kennel personally, but saying that selling protection dogs is when problems comes to the breed is incorrect.

I don't know what the whip is for but the dog is not under fed its healthy, If you saw my dog you might think she is under fed but she has food out constantly, your dog should not be as wide as it is long, that is abuse. I play with my dog that way but not on a chain. But when I tell her to release and sit, every thing is over at that point.

Just a tad under weight, tip top shape you should only see tthere ribs when they bend side to side, and you should never see the spine. Just needs a couple pounds and it would be good.

Although I cannot comment on the method of training this guy is doing, being as I am a service dog and obedience dog trainer, I will say, that is a wonderful example of a APBT, might be able to gain a few lbs, but gorgeous nonetheless. People saying that is not a APBT don't know what a TRUE APBT looks like, they are NOT the hulking ottomans you see running around nowadays. THOSE are Bulldog/Mastiff/AmStaff mutts bred to have a high price for people who need a big dog to look cool.

Side note/advice: Reposition the tether, the dog shouldn't be pulling down on it's neck like that. A human makes a better tether as they cane provide some give. A spring is also helpful to reduce the impact on the dog. And why the hell are people saying the dog isn't a Pit Bull? Looks more like a Pit Bull than half the dogs I've seen portrayed as one. They're not thick overdone dogs. Also to the poster, I suggest changing "Aggression" in your title to "drive" or "Agitation work"

Hi folks, just wanted to say, nothing in this video is showing aggression. The dog is wanting to go for the sleeve, not the person. Anyone who knows anything about bite sports would know this. It does not make a dog "mean" as some might say. It's a game to them as in tug-o-war, except the vast majority of dogs do not have such drive and desire to do it. If you send a dog who has been trained on a sleeve loose on someone without a sleeve, they'd most likely say "Wtf? where's the sleeve?"

I did 2 years working with Marine Corps security force battalion Silverdale WA, screening incoming vehicles to the subbase, Kennel Master was MASC Denson, Each base had its own kennel of dogs trained at Lackland AFB. Navy MWD do not get their own dogs. I was paired with a big belgian malinois named tyson who had a hyper prey drive but was controlable

To set the record straight because you all clearly do not know anything about the breed. American Pit Bull Terriers were FIRST created to work. Bull baiting, hog hunting, any big game, even herding, any job people needed them for because of their adaptability and willingness to please. THEN when baiting was banned, PEOPLE took the dog and (sadly) started fighting them. Pit bulls were not used to catch rats. I took the time to look at your website, and I know you train police dogs, but I do not believe this is the right way of training a police dog. Tying them up to a 2ft. long chain and going at them with a sleeve and trying to get them to be aggressive? That dog looks a little too skinny and doesn't act too into it because he looks tired. To answer your question about what I do when it happens, I let them go at it, usually they figure it out, it's the other owner I worry about, on many occasions my dog has been kicked, and then after we continue our walk like nothing happened.

I'm not argueing that, but you have to think outside your box because in your training there is alot of ego involved in that the handler always has to be in control, and in search and rescue you let the dog do the work, one of the biggest things for my training is to let go of ego and give dog the control while tracking, if not then we just screw them up. Outside of tracking he definetly listens.

Listen, before you cast judgement like the rest do your research about me. Most of the clients that I have are repeating ones. They have been nxt to my side for over 6 yrs. Now thi inparticular K9 belonged to someone else at the time. That person paid an intial payment to start the training, however, when it was time cancel the debt that individual was not able to do so. Therefore, he rendered the dog to me in return I finished the training and sold K9 Bully to a family of five in LAkeland Fl.

I have a question for you, I have a big intact chocolate lab, 6 years old and has trained search and rescue since he was baby. Everytime I bring him to a offleash park he gets into a big fight with another male, it always looks bad but he's never hurt another dog, my search trainer always says just to let them figure it out, the handler of the dig getting beat up usually freaks out, what do you suggest?

I don't know what the whip is for but the dog is not under fed its healthy, If you saw my dog you might think she is under fed but she has food out constantly, your dog should not be as wide as it is long, that is abuse. I play with my dog that way but not on a chain. But when I tell her to release and sit, every thing is over at that point.

Just a tad under weight, tip top shape you should only see tthere ribs when they bend side to side, and you should never see the spine. Just needs a couple pounds and it would be good.
