  • Yes, it's burnhamthorpe at Mavis. It's a really nice bike path. For those who think o was on the sidewalk; not really... I was on the sidewalk for about 3ft, anybody who knows this intersection will know. Also, the point of this video was not to "to stick it to the other rider" but to point out that a slightly overweight near 40 year old driver can keep up with a pretty fit young mb rider thanks the assistance of the bionx system. It really dose work!

  • Try mounting the camera on some rubber strips to prevent the noise.

  • that bike path would be great for my marin bike go check the video out guys ;-)

  • we need bike paths like this more!

  • it's in the 905 area code.... somewhere.... It's also way too clean for it to be Montreal!

  • Burnhamthorpe Road Mississauga travelling west across Mavis Rd, Wolfedale Rd Erindale Station Rd

  • Hey was this in Mississauga?

  • was this recorded in montreal? i´m asking, because i´m a bicycle driver myself and i wonder how many fahrradwege (don´t know the english word for) you have there any how well they are build.

  • Wish we had bike paths like that in london we just get random bits or road painted green maybe :P

  • Hey where was this? BTW, could you list some specs with your bike?

  • This looks like Mississauga Ontario Canada.

  • Get off the sidewalk.

  • It's a bike path numnuts! The sidewalk is to the left (near the road).

  • It is Mississauga and that is a bike path!

  • incredible!!!

  • What is the website you bought this electric motor?

  • I had a go once on an illegal 2-3kw electric bike. It was bonkers but a lot of fun.

  • nice bike!"¤

  • THE STREETS OF AMERICA. anyway how much for the bike?

  • I like it! Stalking your prey... =D It's like a nature show.

  • if i were you you i would have blew past him and teached him a lesson but you cuaght up with him easy

  • I did catch up to him on an uphill segment and just kept going. We was getting smaller and smaller in my helmet mounted rearview mirror.

But like I said: The camera's memory filled up and it stopped recording.

  • Have you had any problems with the battery charger not charging?

  • Yes. I seem to be having that problem right now. I put it on the charger last night and it doesn't seem to be charging. I'll see when I get home if it worked.

  • I'd like to know what happened...

  • Actually, it's fine now. I just needed to shut down the charger, unplug the battery, unplug the charger and try it again.

    It worked. All is well.

  • Can you start from stop without pedaling? Can you switch the motor on and off at will to conserve battery life?

  • Yes. This is possible with a menu hack. Usually the thumb throttle won't work at 0 km/h. It requires you get moving first. I think it needs 4 km/h. With the menu "hack" you can drop this to 0 thus enabling thumb throttle from a full stop.

Pretty fun actually. Since the Bionx brake sensor is only mounted on the rear brake you can do "burn outs" if the menu is hacked. LOL! Just hold the front brake, put your weight onto the front bars and hold down the thumb throttle. Fun!

  • good ole toronto

  • My assist is "hacked". The limiter (32km/h) has been removed and it'll assist me all the way up to about 38km/h which seems to be the max RPM my particular version of Bionx motor is. The label on the hub motor says 300RPM - 350W. I've been told they make faster RPM motors.

The Bionx code to remove the limiter is menu 3773.

My battery is the Bionx 36V Lithium-Ion.

  • I am looking at getting a bion-x system. Not sure what model yet, but i was wondering..any problem with your system to date??

  • does it assist at 38km/h {23mph}?? I thought it shuts off at 18mph . Which battery do you use , Nickel or lithium?

  • The limiter is removed. It keeps assisting a bit beyond 20MPH.

  • The buzzing sound is the vibration from the electric motor that's amplified by the camera. You can barely feel it when you ride the bike but the camera is really picking it up way too much.
