They will deliberately attack, trample and gore lions whenever they can and also deliberately kill lion cubs as a form of predator control when they find them. Cape Buff can weigh more than a ton and are capable of flipping a lion head over heels twenty feet in the air. Even large male lions can be killed easily by Buffalo.

They are both maginificent animals, i have yet to see tigers in the wild, its on my list of to do's, but lions are very beautiful and powerful in the wild. People who claim one is better need to open their eyes to the beauty of both the species. They are magestic in their own ways, and efficent predators. Regarding lions killing an elephant every day, i'm afraid thats unlikely, not many prides have specialised to hunt elephant.
