  • pump some MMO in thare!!!!

  • Nice tractor - I always wanted a Ford. :) You should wear a hat and sun protection on you neck. Melanoma is surprisingly unpleasant, and deadly.

  • i just love the sound these old flathead Ford tractor engines make. Music to my ears. Nice one you have there. Looks to have been well cared for too.

I really miss running these old machines ('54 ford 5000, and a 60's vintage MF 135 that was as smooth as silk to drive)

  • Looks great and starts right up! My Dad's tractor, "Betsy", whirrs and groans upon an attempted start. Have fun!

  • Thanks TS!

  • We have a 1958 Massey-Ferguson MF-50... it's amazing how little changed in 18 years between your Ford and our Ferguson. Almost everything's the same -- back then, apparently they believed more in, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!" Yours is in 10 times better condition than ours, though. Congratulations on your purchase! :)

  • was this restored I have never seen one with the decals still on it we have a 47 8n. it has a nice motor sound

  • Nice Ford tractor looks and sounds great. My friend in the country has a Farmall H-400 tractor. He has a very large John Deere mowing attachment for it. He mows his 5 acres fairly fast, and also his brothers 144 acres. Now you can handle mowing that 5 acres yourself.

  • Nice tractor Chad....now if you could only find an old manual push mower, you would be quite authentic!

  • I saw spark plugs on the engine. Does that mean that it has a gas pre-heat system to warm it up?

  • This is just a regular gasoline engine, not diesel or kerosene.

  • I never would have known. Thanks!

  • You never fail to TOTALLY amaze me! :O

    ~Cindy! :)

    ..

  • Nice 9N tractor! I loved mine when I had it. I have an 8N and a Jubilee now.

  • Those are beautiful tractors. I believe their nickname is the Furguson. I love it how the starter motor is triggered by pulling the gear shift downwards.

  • Oh my bad. Maybe not on this model.

  • Yes, on this model you press on the button in front of the gear shift to activate the starter. There is an interlock which only allows the button to go down if the gear shift is in neutral.

  • Great video of the Ford 1940 tractor such a simple machine and so attractive as such.

Great to see you in person as you build up a picture of someone in your mind and you are ver differant ot what I expected.

  • One of my neighbors uses a tractor and mower almost identical to this to cut his grass. He doesn't even have that much property (maybe 2 acres) but I guess he just likes the old, solid machinery!

  • that is gas not dissal

  • Nothing beats the sound of an old American four-cylinder flathead! Beautiful tractor, by the way!

  • really cool.

  • You are so lucky you can even think about mowing this time of year! Everything around here is entombed in ice and snow! Every time there is melt off and you can almost see a blade of somewhere, more snow arrives!

Are the yellow safety decals originals? I think they didn't put warning labels on tractors back then.

  • very good video, thats a great running and nice looking 9N, 5 stars

  • Very cool tractor. I'd love to have an old tractor like that, but living right in the city doesn't really necessitate it..

    Have fun!

  • You got to love your FORD...

  • That is a cool looking Ford Tractor. That engine sound great too.

  • Oooh yah now that's what I'm talkin 'bout!

  • i would have used 40 diesel lube.

    never heard hd oil?

  • does that tractor have an older restoration? it really looks good. and that engine must be good and tight to have that kind of oil pressure.

are you going to put some work lights on it? the lights for that are pretty easy to find.

  • that tractor looks like its in nice shape! just a little FYI some oil i really like is napa oil. its made by the same company that makes valvoline oil so its good quality stuff! but you can get napa oil cheaper than the brand name oils. a lot of people i have talked to really like napa oils. those back tires look old but you should be able to get quite a few years out of them yet. nice tractor!
