You are very lucky at :10 :11 you can see a step leader around 10 feet in front of you! A step leader is part of the lightning bolt that spreads out in many different directions. The bolt found an easier spot to discharge. You are lucky you were not struck! Pretty amazing footage!
@chrispycritter2 For better or worse, the apparent foreground flash is not a leader. It is a camera artifact, and a fairly common one. It's caused by a combination of lens flare and the interlaced manner in which the camera scans and records the image falling on the sensor.
at 0:10 the lightning hit about 30 feet away they do not realise the danger there
